    Watched my father for many years betting multi race wagers and myself as an adult for years fail as well. The only strategy that has ever worked for me ocasionally is to target 3-5 races to win wager and parlay the money to next one. It’s best on Saturdays where you have a plethora of races to choose from tracks all over the country and you can be very selective to which ones you are going to start your parlay of $10, $20, $50, $100 whatever is your budget. Hit three horses you are in the hundreds profitwise, hit four or five you should be in the thousands. For me it’s been the only strategy that has given me anything with some sort of consistency but one has to be very selective with the races you choose. I don’t do claiming races or dirt stake races only allowance, maiden special wts and especially higher level turf races those are my favorite. Nice video bud. Good luck!

    You explain that very well. I guess I'm more of a caveman so at the Belmont I will be trying a pick three or four for my first time. Going for value. Thank you so much for this podcast it is helped me greatly.

    The $3 pick- 3 with 15% takeout at keeneland was a good move for the game. Would like to see more tracks do it(with improvement of maybe 10% takeout?)

    I was looking for help like this and was unable to find anything on RUclips. I’ve been struggling with my waging too. Just not winning because of the small fields and seemed like a lot of off tracks this year. I’m looking forward to watching the remainder of videos. Thanks

    Just hit the KEE $3 turf pick-3 today using the ABC method for $2875.50! I've had good luck with these types of wagers and as you say seldom use a favorite as an "A". To me it's cheaper than a caveman because it forces you to handicap and get that conviction of your selections. Thanks for the video.

    Great video. Sometimes our bad habits aren't always noticed when the going is good(for example 30 years ago when every pick4 was overlaid and the pools were large and there was one a day and a lot of dead money came in from the casual fan the caveman ticket could get there and the pay out was big) but in the days of diluted pools and dime wagers one has to make it count. If there is a New Years Resolution for 2022 it is not wasting money putting in an "all" when I should just rest and come back and see if can chop it down.

      Agree long-time players prefer the 1 minimums and only 1 pool a day - minimums decreased and now players play many more combinations to hit the bet. Have to pick your spots.

      Hi Pam, I like the idea of Key Races, and I use them a lot for maiden races. I may have to do a Key races video.

    If there is a 7 horse field and you only have 1 X horse, do you leave off the ticket or push the all button, IMO it really sucks to leave one horse off and it wins, but not sure how often it happens.

    Lately I've been trying to pick horses that have a chance at a price. The thing is, with Computer and phone wagering. I have to pretty much predict the price at the end. I/e; I recently hit an exacta, where the 2 horses were 6/1 and 10/1 morning line, I have them boxed with a 3rd horse, but which one to bet to win?there was a point where the 10/1 was 9/2and the 6/ 1 was 17/ 1 bout 5 to 8 min out, at that point, I strongly considered betting the lower priced horse, BC had a hot Jockey( JJ Hernandez)but the horse only had 3 lifetime wins, as apposed to 5, for the other. Needles to say,the JJ horse won, but here's the thing! At 10/1 while the other horse went off at 9/1 odds changing all in the last 3 min. or so ! At equal odds , I should take the horse with a better Jockey, but that wasn't the case when I bet!I now have to be a predictor of odds, along with everything else! The exacta paid more, but I missed out on about $300 on the win end, ( would have cashed $1000) I'm complaining about one of my best hits in a long time, I also had 2 favorites, that figured to be about 5/2 to 3/1 that ended up going off at 6/5 and 7/5 respectfully. I bet the 1st, passed on the 2nd, ( cause the first one, barely won) Also the lower increments in betting 50c pic 3 and 4 $ 1 exactas lead to lower payouts.. Why not throw a long shot, in a 3 horse box, or trifecta key, if it's only gonna cost you a couple bucks!! I remember the first time I hit a big exacta, it was like a 9/1 shot over a 7/2. It payed $305 bucks for a $5 exacta. Nowadays everyone has got it' with all the different combinations, pays $180!!

      @@derbyologist if people don’t take the time to really learn it they are simply burning money. It’s especially critical in maiden special weights and in determining if a horse can get distance. Also watching the board and watching trainer/jockey stats important.

    • @chrispafrieddreams9118
      @chrispafrieddreams9118 2 года назад

      Pedigree is important, if your trying to predict a horse can get a distance, or is unproven at a Class, but once he's proven it, that's it! I bet on, than against a horse out of Honest Lady! Running in 32k claimer! Turns out, didn't matter! Just handicap it as another horse...
