thats the same with all sports betting. The lines are set by an odds maker but then change based on money being wagered.

Hahaha bro! I feel you! I'm actually new myself. I have to say I've been betting on sports for a while, there's was a time when I won 7 games one day, then the next, I won 4 games, and everything from there went downhill. And I noticed that these NBA games are played by Vegas, honestly from a perspective of someone's that watching they wouldn't understand but once you start to see how it works, it became more than entertainment but its about money and its sad. Its rigged too, its the reason why I got out of it. And I came to horse racing, cause with this you're dealing with actual people and not sportbooks, the house/Vegas, I can't tell you how many times people have been banned just cause they win too much, with horse racing you can't get banned. Everyone wins. It's what I love about it.
I hear you man, its very confusing and overwhelming, there was a few times where I wanted to quit but its crazy that you could turn a small few bucks to hundreds or less than a hundred and hit 5 figures... 100% ppl don't want to believe it but the podcast Whistleblower nails i ton the head. Since Jordan & maybe even during his reign, the NBA is fixed to achieve entertainment value... then the rest is bookmaking. It is no different than WWE honestly, they choose players/games/teams to blow up & if Vegas is going to lose big on a game that's close, the refs always find a way to get it within the numbers it needs to be even when it seems impossible... which is why you see fouls called 0.4 sec left in a game already won/lost so that vegas can recoup any losses on the final line. Horses at least allow you you ca chance due to there not being as much fixing as there used to be, ad reality is they can't fix a whole race.... well they can lol but not every race.... you can do your own homework & have a value bets. There is only a few sports you can bet & not worry as much about fixing but NBA is about the league fixing it not the players/bookies which is the worst part

Good assesment
The order of finish was 7-2-1 just like the bottom of the PP's page says. If you handicap the way you do for every race, you'll end up with the favorite everytime. You need to be a contrarian sometimes to hit bigger prices. But good explanations though (except for the morning line).
Thanks for watching! I don’t handicap like this every time. Just needed to find a race that race super accurate to program form and this one did. Figured it was a good way to show new bettors what a racing form is and how to use it. Wish every race ran as close to form as this one did as far as pace lol but we know that is a very race thing to find.

Never pay attention to odds..bet the horse you like n hope for big odds
Oh my gosh, that's not the way it's done. You _have_ to look at the odds. That's part of the proper way to handicap the races.
A horse might be a bad bet at 2 to 1, for example, but it might be a great bet if the odds were 20 to 1.
Sure, you might really like a horse to win... but if it's the odds on favorite to win, say something ridiculous like 1 to 10, it's not going to pay very much at all... IF it wins. Why risk $2.00 in an attempt to win 40 cents? You won't win often enough at those odds to show a profit.
_Always_ pay attention to the odds, and make that a part of your overall handicapping when deciding which horse is the best horse to bet on.
This is true for any type of bet, including all other sports. For example, would you bet on the San Francisco 49ers to defeat the Detroit Lions... if you had to lay $100 to win $1? My guess is, of course you would not. That price is terrible. But if you didn't pay attention to the odds, as you suggest, you would certainly bet the 49ers if you liked that team... and only find out later how little you won at such a big risk.

How do y pick a winner or the exacted when the race has every horse has about the same class and speed thats where I get hit in a very good stakes race, so love to hear from y ,especially this week up coming with the Louisiana derby
My personal advice.. don't wager on those types of races if you don't want to "gamble". You can always decided to skip a meeting or race and bet elsewhere. Sometimes things are pretty hairy and it can be hard to get an edge. I would say that in general most folks have their own metrics and figures that they value over others that they might use to pick in tight fields. I get the feeling these are like "secret recipes" for these people and it's rare you will hear their methods

This information is excellent, and you partially answered my question, if each horse has a stated odd, hasn't the track's odd maker already incorporated all of the variables that a handicapper is including in their decisions? If not would that oddsmaker not be employed by that track? Or are they applying odds incorrectly and is there a reason why? I monitored SA, GP, TBD, AQU for a few weekends and found that 95% of the horses that won paid from $2.20 to $12.00. Doesn't this indicate that the lower odd horses win practically all the time? If so, what is the purpose of over analyzing what has already been analyzed? No offense but if the handicapper can pick out $100 horse that would be amazing but that is 1 in 100 or more races. And many times, the handicapper will throw out the high odd horse as his statistics would not be positive enough to keep him in the race, as you said once you see some negative signs, you throw that one out. Given the outcome, this would make sense, but it also leaves the $100 horse out of that handicapper's recommendations. Benter was able to make millions by using probability and placing large amounts on selected horses.
I agree to your point. The main thing is handicapping is now something that most have gotten pretty good at. The majority of money played is smart money so individual win odds are lower for sure most races. However I feel that the difference in a great handicapper is ticket structure and finding value in exotic wagers

Still battling not the house but the track take.I had a method that I played all year my betting account after one year it was break even .Which means I was up on the rest of the players 15 percent but the track take made a loser.
You need to use an ADW with rebates, then you'll come out ahead in your case.

Oh it will come easy, do your homework of unknown and hang out out the right places at the track. Track conditions so much to consider. Live at the track before the race. Jockeys are full of information. Ever look at the back stretch lol. A lot of jockey trick laying on the track. Who’s the farrier ?

This wasn't meant to show how to bet. Just to show how to map out a race on paper to understand how the race will be run. You are more than welcome to watch all of the live handicapping videos we do. All the replays are right on the channel.
This is a BIG assumption that the timers were accurate. That has been occurring less and less. But I do want to thank you for efforts to help fellow horseplayers.

Easy way to determine this. Add up ( money won lifetime,, WPS%,, best speed fig last 10 races ) data must be normalized. . And the likely Horses that will win are as clear as day. There a a few other things would take too long to discuss.
As example this year's Derby Authentic and Tiz the Law had by far the best totals.

That’s one of about 50 reasons why I prefer show wagering among anything else. Of course wins and exotics can be fun too.
Be safe but safe is not safe enough it is found that horses from 10/1 down wins 80 percent of the races therefore going outside 10/1 puts the punter at a disadvantage but then how do you find the correct nag inside 10/1 when there are at times four to five nags inside the 10/1 spot

Just trying to maybe teach new people what handicappers try to do when mapping out a race and then show the actual race in context to how a race that runs close to form should look. Pretty sure I make that clear in the video too

Your explanation of Morning Line Odds is a little off. It's not the Track Handicapper's opinion of the horse, It's where he believes the betting public will place the odds at post-time. It's only meant to give handicappers an idea of what he thinks the public will do. Horses get bet down everyday due to the publics perception of a trainer, jockey, etc. Don't get me wrong, for beginners it's a starting point but there are some terrible line makers out there and 5/1 Baffert horses going off at 1-9 :)

It's extremely easy to handicap after seeing a race. However, this was made as a tutorial to show handicappers what I look for and how handicapping can help map out a race. Basically a way to show people that you can somewhat anticipate how a race will be run based off of the Past Performances. Thanks for watching
All that talk about how to pick a 4/5 winner? Just look at the Tote & chances are likely 60% the chalk will prevail, but so what? Like any speculative venture, it's all about identifying value & exploiting same.

You assume we know what you are talking about when you highlight items and say not a closer, or a closer, or came in third. Have no idea what you are looking at that allows you to know that. Very easy to do if the race has already run
As it says in the video it is simply to show how the form can be used to help predict the way a race is run. To hopefully help new players understand exactly what the point of the racing form is. Thanks for watching
