Brandon is a little hard on Wolf sometimes with Ringwalds character Nicky. He was a perfect appropriate mentor to her and even sacrificed easy money in the intersest of Nicky's well being and safety. As bizarre as the environment was, throwing in a fifteen year old New Wave grunge girl as Wolf's impromptu sidekick was weird as well on the screenwriters part. Wolf handled the situation with class and style, never a hint of anything inappropriate with Nicky implied in the least. You gotta give him props for being a trustworthy...if not kinda cranky at being constantly thrust into the role of antihero rescuer.....adult.

I'd read that Michael Ironside had been set up in the costume on a crane with the big claw things, they did some filming, called lunch, and everybody forgot that he was stuck in costume hanging in the air and hungry while everybody went off and ate.
Some of the set designs are great - the one with the "water Amazons" is cool, looking like an organic metal swamp. I've always wondered what the "mutant baby" costumes were from, were they something a costume rental house had lying around or were they created for this movie. I could swear I've seen something similar in other movies.

if they stuck with "Adventures in the Creepzone" I think Robocop would appear and single-handedly annihilate all the bad guys.

I definitely feel like this movie coming out a week before Return of the Jedi (and certainly being buried by RotJ) helped kill it; it is definitely a bit derivative but there's some really fun ideas here.

Oh nebulous they're such the bane of ships. Although in Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan we had a very good space battle in a nebula.

Also, nebulas get overused in sci-fi movies. Quasars are almost NEVER used? XD

The "Astar the Robot" segment was a nice Canadian touch. The special effects in that commercial were ahead of their time. Back then I was quite impressed.

Man, i was looking for this movie in ages, but that was a long long time ago. I kinda ran into it on TV, but i only got to see the end of it, or something like the last third. As i never saw the title, i couldn't find it on rental, or later on on the net. But now i do! This has such a charming style and now i know where it got it from!
