intermittent non opening of the tail gate can be related to the switch, the tailgate switch takes a ground from the drivers door latch, this latch has a number of micro switches that over time can causes issues with self locking while driving etc. makes sense to check the tailgate SW first, as a new replacement door latch is very expensive, and a false economy to by a used example as it will likely be as old / worn as the faulty unit. l'll check your kit out.
What if the tailgate won't open at all? Held lock and unlock buttons on the inside for 3 seconds, no sound and doesn't open. Tried programming the remote to release but no beep so it can't be set. Dash says tailgate open but it is not. Hatch won't open either. What else can I do?
