Yay! Im so excited! And yeah, i definitely think it helps me pack less because i can visualize what all i have in the shelf as im packing. Hope it helps for you too!

Yeah i've got it on there - but i haven't found it super useful because it limits how much i can open up the bag. But i really haven't had any problems with it falling over 😂 I think that was just a weird issue when i first got it and nothing was it in. Glad you're enjoying yours!
Thanks for your reviews! We're currently at the end of a 6 week trip and my family of 5 took one larger checked bag one and checked one carry on size and then one backpack each. But honestly with one of these we could have not checked bags at all (and how great that would have been). Thank you!
Whoa that's a long trip! Hope you had a blast!! I just got back from 4 weeks myself - and I lived in this suitcase and a backpack! Worked great on all airlines, including regional ones in South Africa!
I work in the aviation industry so am interested to see how it works compared to vacuum seal bags. I am in and out of hotels each day and have high hopes for this luggage.
I wish pilots or flight attendants would do more luggage reviews like this. I think they would be the best people to torture test luggage since they travel for a living.
Is now a good time to check in? Have you purchased this and had time to check it out? I'm sure that they are an upstanding company with a reliable return policy @SolgaardDesign
I've been looking at getting a Solgaard, and beyond the closet system (thanks for the REALISTIC demonstration of that), the other thing in the Solgaard that stands out is the latch system rather than the zipper system that most other cases have. How do you feel about the latches? Are they good quality? Are they easy to use? My main concern is that a zipper "feels" like it would connect more securely all the way around, but the latches maybe "feel" more secure. What have you noticed?
You're so welcome! So I LOVE the latch. I feel like it's even more secure than a zipper, and SO much easier to close the suitcase. They seem good quality so far, not finicky or getting stuck or anything. Very easy to close and open. And it actually feels so extremely secure. Can't explain why exactly... maybe cause it just feels like you know the feeling when you vacuum seal something and it just sucks in? That's kinda what it feels like 😂 And I've gone over some bumpy terrain with it, up and down lots of escalators and bounced it around and it hasn't even looked like it was trying to come undone. So I'm a big fan!
@@Christina-wb6sg happy to help! and ive stress tested this a bunch in the last couple weeks with an extremely full suitcase, and lugging around 3 different airports and airplanes over about 12 hours in one journey... no issues with the latch at all!
This is very helpful! I have the 20” carry on closet and thought that I could only fill half of the suitcase if I used the “closet” part because I was compromising the sides and not really flattening it out. for the time crunch I had to get to my last destination I ended up not using the organizer at all and just filled it like a normal suitcase.
Yes! I actually have found that works too - don't use the closet for packing - just pack normally and lay the closet flat on top of the suitcase, and then you can set up the closet when you get there!
Have you flown on American Airlines? I want to get the 22.4 x 14.6 x 9.6 BUT their limit states 22 x 14 x 9. thoughts?! want the bigger one for a week long trip international and am in a hot debate if i want to risk it. 😂 Levi is adorable ❤🥰
Yes! I am currently on an American Airlines trip with it 😂 Flew with it about a week ago and will fly back home with it in a week! Had no problems getting it in the overhead bin and they didn't measure it ahead of time or anything, so i think you should be good!! Especially on the international planes... i was just on a regional flight that's a smaller plane. And thank you!! I wish i could have fit him in the suitcase for this trip 😭
Do you have the 20” or 22” carryon? I got my 22” but didn’t pay attention to weight when ordering. It’s very heavy empty. Do you find that to be an issue? Considering returning for that reason.
I have the 22" and i haven't found it to be that heavy!! I'm only 5 foot 2 inches and have had no problems getting it up in the overhead bin, even when i stuff that thing full to the brim haha.
Hi Brittany - the fact that it does not expand bothers you? The expandable carry-ons are great when you need a little extra room, and this is the main reason why I haven't bought the solgaard yet.
Sorry for the delayed response - notifications haven't been coming through! But yeah, my sister actually was worried about the expandable part too, but i've found i have plenty of room in there without that! It's actually surprising how much i can fit in there, sometimes you just have to get a little creative. Or sit on it 😂.
Great question! Admittedly i haven't really tested this out too much- i dont think i've done much walking in the rain with it, but anytime there's been a sprinkle or anything I've had no issues with it. It seems very waterproof as it seals when you tighten the clasps, so i wouldn't be afraid of walking in the rain with it, just havent had a chance to yet.
Honestly don’t remember it- just searching solgaard packing and I think it’ll come up? But it’s basically what I show in here- just pack it up and fold it down on the one side, don’t worry about the compression strap and standing it up
I bought the smaller carry-on, and I love it except that it is quite heavy. At about 8lbs, that only leaves me room for 7 lbs. of stuff if I want to take it to Europe, as many European airlines limit carry-ons to 15 lbs. Compressing clothes works well as long as there isn't a low weight limit.
Now, they have a LITE version.....unless that is what you are talking about...the closet just plops in like a collapsible chest of drawers, not tall like the one seen here.
Hi Brittany, just got the carry on plus but having a hard time packing men’s clothing for a seven day trip, as it will not compress enough to fit in the luggage. Any suggestions (i.e. which shelves are best for which kind of clothing, etc.)? Thanks!
So i tend to fit more when I don't use the compression and instead fold it like an accordian style (kinda like i show at this part: ruclips.net/video/I-jtBq1-eVM/видео.html ) I also recommend putting heavier clothing items, like jackets or even some pants on the other side of the suitcase instead of the closet/shelf part because they just dont fold as nicely. And one last hack - i've found that I'm able to fit more in there than i think just by stuffing it and then sitting on then tucking everything in on the sides - will need to make a video demo-ing that at some point 😂
I’m envisioning tons of wrinkles in that smashed in clothing, me oh my! The hanging closet idea is great, but if you have to just smash it in to make it work, that can be done in a much cheaper bag. I wanted to love this carry-on closet… but it isn’t working for me at all. I want smooth clothing upon arrival, and need to be able to use the carry-on for more than just the closet. Great idea… but so many design flaws in my opinion as I’m currently trying it.
Ahhh bummer you’re experiencing that. Admittedly I am not usually packing easily wrinkled clothes or dressy clothes so the wrinkles haven’t been an issue for me but I’m also generally packing jeans and nice shirts
But you don't have it full when you demo "packing it." How about showing us what it's like FULL???? and how you close it when it's full of clothes? Just how much can you fit?
Yeah thats valid! I should do a third video about this showing the "stress testing". I can fit a good bit of stuff in it, even when i think it wont close, it manages to!
Great question - Shockingly it doesn't really! Admittedly, i don't wear a lot of clothes that wrinkles easily, and most my wardrobe is typically t-shirts and shorts/sweatpants haha so i might not be the best person to answer for "smart" clothes". But I think that's mostly because they're still like "flat" on the shelves just folded over, so it's not exactly like they're bunched up. And thanks!! He says hello and thanks for watching! :)
