I love this video! I'm newer to reselling so my oldest items are 5 months old but I'm already tired of them so I can't imagine when they hit a year or more. Fingers crossed that your items sell now that you made a video about them ;)
Haha that's a great idea to do a follow up! You really do get better at sourcing the longer you do it. If you have stuff you are already sick of looking at then you are definitely learning!
This was a great idea. A few surprises for sure. Surprised by the Ted Baker shorts. I expected to see the sweatpants from an old box. I think it’s the box with Halara.
hahaha I know which sweatpants you are talking about. I dumped all those leftovers to Thredup earlier this year or I'm sure those would still be sitting here too!
some of the items on there are very surprising, but thank you for doing this video because it really helps me when I am sourcing!! Hope you have a merry Christmas & a safe and happy new year🎄
You can trade in Lululemon at their store and get credit. Use the credit to get something really desirable and sell it. Market those shorts as sleep shorts - maybe that would sell them. Great video!
Wow, I never even thought about marketing them as sleep shorts! You are so right, I should give it a try. I didn't realize they buy back Lululemon that is so old. I will have to give that a try too!
@marshamellow2023 Hi! Do you know how much credit you can get for one Lululemon piece? I got the box of 50 from Helpsy and more than half was without size tags 🤯
Oh my gosh, I have a Narciso Rodriguez dress in a large NWT that I listed in November of 2023. I can not move it. I have the price all the way down to $6.99 and still nothing, crickets. I ordered a Boutique by Box J Crew Madewell Denim and Pants Box in May and got a lot of white jeans that I can not move. I hoped with spring and summer they would have moved, but they didn't. I don't have a lot of hope for these. I might donate them to a friend who owns a thrift store. I like this video, it helps to know which brands to maybe stay away from or which boxes not to purchase! Thank you for another great video. 🙂
haha I have an entire rack of white J. Crew and Madewell jeans. Nearly all the blue and black sold off but the white ones are slower to move. I actually sold a handful of them in November (weird) but I have a feeling they will sit through the winter at least.
Raise your price nobody will buy an item that low priced because they think there's something wrong with it I had a Romper listed low then I raised the priced and it sold immediately just a suggestion especially if it's a high end brand and sometimes you just have to be patient it may take a couple of years to sell but I think customers are well aware of the lowering the price to get it sold so why would they buy something that's been listed forever and your pricing reflects that
Love the video ❤ I def have items that are more than a year old in my pm closet 🤫 i find the same story with scotch and soda and ted baker. Like these r supposed to be good brands but they r barely moving with very little interest 😢 and don’t get me started on Lululemon. When helpsy did their fave athlesisure and I got a whole bunch and now I am stuck 🫠🫠🫠
It is SO frustrating when brands that are supposed to be “good” just sit! I sold off a lot of the Lululemon from those boxes but a few pieces are still here. Probably going to ThredUp soon.
I bought a Yumi Kim box from boutique by the box and it was a dumpster fire as well. It was a box of 20 from Sept 2023. I’ve sold 7. The rest are getting sent to ThredUp, buy sell trade and goodwill in Jan. Whoever takes them at this point!
I am SO sorry to hear that! It is so frustrating when you get boxes like that and the items just don't move! Hopefully you can recover a little bit of money on Thredup.
Daily Ritual is sold on Amazon....hard to compete with the low prices and immediate delivery! I have a hard time moving Amazon brands....I just have to list it for much lower.
Well, who wants to buy pants online? They always end up fitting funny. And when it’s something you can’t return, it’s just money wasting. Shoppers would much rather go into a local thrift store where they can try pants on and make sure they fit the way they’re supposed to. When I go to my local Goodwill, I try on piles, and piles, snd piles of pants, but even then, I rarely find a solid option. But add to that blind buying something from online with no way to return it? No, thank you!
I have the same scotch and soda sweater left from that same box. And yes, I have 5 items still listed. Uggghhh. For the Daily Ritual, change the listing to Anthropologie. I'm surprised no outdoor voices! 🤦♀️.
Oh I definitely have some Outdoor Voices here still! It just wasn't quite as old as some of this other stuff. I bet if I do another video in a few months some of that would be on it.
As a woman who wears a size 11 shoe, I will never wear white footwear. I just feel as though i'm wearing clown shoes. So, if you have the Everlane's listed as women's, it could be better to list as men's possibly.
Hey Rachel, thanks for sharing your duds (I have plenty myself :-). Just a suggestion…those Everlane grey/aqua jeans might have a better chance if you remove the stock photo. Everlane usually does a nice job on stock photos, but this one is just not flattering. Just a thought. Thanks for all your great content! Cheers!
I didn't think we were allowed to use stock photos? I never use stock photos I figure people wanna see the actual item we are selling not someone else's photos?
Great video! It’s nice to see the other side and see what’s not selling. It also lets us know we’re not the only one with un-movable items! 😂
Right?!? I'm always surprised by the things that get no love!
Great video!!! Maybe you could do this every 3-6 months. I might be invested in seeing when/how some of these things sell!!
I definitely think I am going to make more of these. It was fun to see for sure!

I hope you have a happy holiday season as well! I'm so glad you found this helpful!

I have a really hard time moving some LuLuLemon pieces as well.
It's not what it used to be for sure.

Eww. Yeah I stay away from Amazon brands for this exact reason but I didnt realize this was one of them. I should probably just take that down lol
I have TONS of clothing over 2 years old. I’m tired of looking at them but I just can’t seem to part with my stuff 😢
haha I totally get that!
I like this video 😂 I definitely have my share of items like this unfortunately.
Yay, I'm so glad, thank you! Yes it happens to ALL of us I am sure lol

What size is the velvet dress?
its a size 14W

That's a great point, I never thought of that! I am a 10 and yes certain styles and colors look ridiculous on me too.
Honestly I would buy the Ted Baker shorts if they were my husbands size
They really are nice shorts!
I like this video.
yay, thank you, I am so glad!
Something I just tried is crossroads has a mail in option and they payout through Zelle they send you a bag like three up used to do
oh thank you for the tip! I don't have crossroads in my area and still very much use Thredup, but Im going to look into this as well!
All my sneakers from everlane have sit for me, I can’t move any of them, have give them away to friends and family but not a single sale
Wow, really? I was able to sell off most of the other ones. These are just weird I guess.
I still have 5 Nookie dresses 😭😭
Ugh!! :(
Prices too high. Lower prices.

That's so true, I hadn't thought about that! I'll give it a shot.
