Its like a time warp when you open the throttle out!, Front wheel comes right up, like a dog sitting up for a biscuit!!. I used to have a 465 back then, raw and powerful, fast as sh*# off a shovel!. I used to spend a lot of time stood up keeping the wheel down!!. Great times!. Young and invincible 😇. Great video!.
What a beautiful spot to ride.. He forgot the part after its only got 4 gears.....that third is the one that will damage the rear fender and your pride if you ever get too cocky on hard pack... Great old bikes...
I had a brand new one and couldnt hardly keep the front end down, i weighed 200 at the time. That bike would get with it, i used to beat the KX500 and the RM500's not by much though, lot of fast fun....
Give me a break. I'm a 200 plus hour KX500 rider. Traded my YZ490 1991 in on an ' 99 Green bike back then. The Kawasaki is miles ahead on every count. Just saying. Still got an '04 KX500 in the shed. The next Gen water cooled 500's were always a better bike. The old school YZ's are a great bike to hang onto too, if you can find one.
Yeah here is a tip. Hang on tight. I had a 465 when I was 15 in 1985. Got tired of straightening the back fender so I left it bent up. 4 gears and first was very high. Had a lot of fun on that old thing, they were a good bike.
There is no need to have a mosquito fogger anymore, and there hasnt been for decades. Every bike Ive ever owned had digested Klotz castor at 40:1 and Sunoco Silver (100 octane). Never had any kind if mechanical failure in 25+ years of riding, and 40:1 lets your muffler packing last longer and dissipates quicker.

465 was never a 5 speed
@@Broddi169 Yz 465 is 5 speed.
@@TopRevs you're correct. Not sure what I was thinking. The 490 is the 4 speed. At least it was the first few years.
geez that thing went from 0 to powerband pretty fucking quick
Didn’t like the 4 speed trans. Always felt weird like I was in the wrong gear.
running sweet
I was like this was filmed in michigan because all of our dam trails are sand!!!!!
True
That bike actually sounds like it’s running right...
