Loved following your trip day by day. Looked seriously fun. I hope you'll have a blast tomoz mate. That rear rack is really cool. Gonna have to have a closer look at something like that for my holiday tours.
Great vid Jack, I’m looking forward to your experience with the 165mm cranks. The trip is a great way to test this out. Enjoy the ride & we will all look forward to the footage from it.
Great preparation. but why use high aero wheels which are effective around 40km/h for ultra heavy duty like a hiker? At the risk of experiencing gusts of wind, sides to climb. (I'm not making any judgment, just a question)
Good question. I wanted to test these rims in the windier conditions and see how the bike handled in preparation for my next record. They’re faster at speeds below 40km/h too 👌🏽👌🏽
Fantastic to see you hitting the road after the monster Munda Biddi in 40degC!! Everything in your packing list makes sense, apart from your children’s toothpaste 😂 what’s with that?!? Will be following you all the way from the Perth hills!
Nice info from the background! What about the additional riding clothes? Five days of cycling without changing your jersey/bib make it easier to find a free spot next to the cobbles for sure. 😂 But can’t really believe this is how you deal with this. Washing every night or what? Thanks for keeping us motivated! I bet most of us can pick a few new ideas from each and every video!
Good question! I only took one set with me and washed them each and every night! I got caught out one night with wet clothes the following morning…wasn’t ideal 🥶 More on the full ride shortly! Stoked you enjoy the content 😁
Nice set up. I've just picked up a used Roubaix sl7 and looking forward to taking it on a 1000km race in the summer called the Solstice Sprint. Did the ride on this go well?
Ahhh great buy! You’re going to love the bike. It’s the perfect endurance road bike 👌🏽👌🏽 Ride went great thanks, not one mechanical. Full trip video coming soon!
I have the same rear bag and carrier but have only ever used it on my Alloy MTB as have been a little concerned about potential carbon damage on my roadie. Have you had any issues on you bikes?
I’ve had no real issues. Especially not damage wise. I’m going to do a vlog on this rack shortly though with some of my experiences both good and bad 👌🏽👌🏽
I rode a mountainbike ultra on with an Aeroe on a carbon mountainbike - no issues. They recommend, and I did, wrap the part of the frame with some tape first.
Good question mate. I tend to change them around a bit depending on the ride. A few months on the power and then a bit of time on the mirror too. Both are great saddles 👌🏽
@@jackultracyclistofficial you rock! Appreciate the list. Is there any reason you rotate between them? I'm trying to find one that I can use for longer rides and high volume without the pain.
I object in the strongest possible terms to this setup. It is plain wrong. The correct one is Force Wide 46/30 to 36 cassette. Unless you are sponsored by SRAM, RED groupset has no place on ultra endurance bike, which already weights 20 kilos anyway. 😂😂
@@jackultracyclistofficial Why did you go RED in the first place? Performance wise it is the same as Force but it is lighter. But light doesn’t matter in your case so I am really wondering. BTW, ditch the CO2 canisters and replace them with a single lightweight pump. Unlike the canisters, the pump works indefinitely
Welcome to Belgium! Enjoy the cobbles.
Thankyou! So far so good, in the wet, it’s another story 😂
Nice to see you're back here. Good setup, enjoy the trip & fondo! Stay safe!
Thankyou! Back on Spanish soil now, full video coming shortly 😁
Thanks for posting up Jack. Inventory been checking in every couple of days hoping for a new upload. This trip and your Camino sound great!
More stuff coming! It’s been a busy few months, but I’ve got some cool stuff in the pipeline. Stay tuned 😁😁
Yay, he’s back! For a long time I hope.
Lots more content incoming!!

Thanks mate! The women’s race was great and I’m keen to see the men too 😁 Good luck with the rack, I’ll do a review of it shortly 👌🏽
Good to see you back Jack. Safe travels and enjoy
Thanks Richo, more regular stuff incoming 🙌🏽🙌🏽

Appreciate it! Trip recap coming shortly!
That's a great setup. Safe travels!
Thanks amigo!
this channel needs to explode, let's go!!
Thanks mate!
thanks for putting this together, no surprises I guess, though you madde tyre boots out of old tyres? not seen that before, good idea.
No problem 🙌🏽 yes! The tyre boots have yet to be used, but I imagine that they’ll work a treat!

Bit of different weather on offer here, that’s for sure! Haha the children’s toothpaste is because…it’s the smallest tube I could find!!
Nice bag ! I want to get a roadrunner frame bag since it a a little bigger but nice setup !
You should!
I like your style. My tent is also a credit card.
Love it 🤘🏽🤘🏽
Safe travels…don’t forget a lock and an air tag
Thanks mate, agree on the AirTag and lock!
Would love to see links to your gear in the description!
Anything in particular??

Appreciate it mate!
How did that Aeroe Spider rack work for you??
On the whole it was great, though I did experience some slippage while mounted. I’m going to record a review video so stay tuned 🙌🏽

@@IsaacAdlerlove to hear it and great advice on frame protection 👌🏽👌🏽
What rain jacket you recommend?
This is a Specialized packable one. It worked great on this trip 👌🏽👌🏽
No hydration?
Good pickup, Camelbak bidons we’re still in the dishwasher!
What’s the bar bag that you’re using?
It’s made by a company Cordel 🙌🏽
@@jackultracyclistofficial Tnx mate
🙌🏽🙌🏽
Hi, didnt you have the mirror saddle ? wondering if yo ustill using or ditched it
Good question mate. I tend to change them around a bit depending on the ride. A few months on the power and then a bit of time on the mirror too. Both are great saddles 👌🏽
Hi Jack, how tall are you?
187cm mate 🙌🏽
44cm bars? Did I just flashback to 1985 crit days? Are you broad-shouldered or just wanting cockpit space?
I’m broad shouldered!
Been loving the video! What is your absolute favorite saddle for training and those long rides? I also have a big butt haha.
Thanks! It’s a good question…I rotate between the specialized power, the ronin mirror and the phenom! All slightly different in shape!
@@jackultracyclistofficial you rock! Appreciate the list. Is there any reason you rotate between them? I'm trying to find one that I can use for longer rides and high volume without the pain.
Go for the Romin Mirror, it’s incredibly comfy!!
What front bag do you have?
This is a little Cordel bag 👌🏽
Do you sell you bike in the soon Future? I’m interested to buy you Roubaix SL, if you are da with it. Please contact me.?;)
Careful, mate. That haircut's awfully close to an early Split Enz!
😂😂😂 it’s growing back!!
Thankfully you didn’t inherit your packing skills from your mum!😅
😂😂😂 lucky indeed!
Lightweight disc bike 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Did I miss something….🤔

To much of stuff.. Credit card long distance riding is next big thing- you just go race ready, light and aero and do double the range in one day..
You still need equipment though, especially in areas where weather can be cold. I’m not sure I could have gotten away with less on this trip
