Hi Felipe. I'm a multi-instrumentalist, and percussion has been part of my expression for about 30 years. I've been getting into the cajon for about a month now and just yesterday started looking for some videos about specific things I might not be thinking about in relation to this instrument and how to translate grooves and rhythms. I came across your channel and would like to say from the few videos I've seen so far you're doing a great job. You lay everything out in a very clear, easy to grasp way, and I will definitely refer any beginners I meet to your videos as a place to get started. And as far as my original intent, from one of your other videos I already got an idea of how to work Bonham triplets into a cajon groove, and I look forward to seeing what else I can learn from some of your more advanced videos. Thanks you for all the great work and keep it up!
Thanks a lot for these fills. I especially love fills with a bit of space in them. Don't know if you've encountered this, but in the States (and I've seen a couple British drummers use the term), drum set players refer to fill 4 as the "Pat Boone Debby Boone" fill...referring to the American pop singer and his daughter.
Hey Felipe these are all very good smart grooves!!! I do like the last one, I think it would go really well with an other instrument also filling, however they will all be great to add to my collection of fills (now I've started one that is :)) Thanks again Felipe 👍🏻
nice fills, i use variations of these fills quite often. for example, fill one i use em with all snares, fill 2 i play with bass and snares, fill 3 i use the same one, fill 4 the classic "pat boone, debbie boone" version, and fill 5 i usually play flam, 2 snares n 3 snares variation.
Thanks for your comment my friend! This what I expect from everybody, tonuse these fills as variations and add their own voice, like you are saying 😉🙏 PBDB it’s always helpful 😀 cheers!
@@CajonMaster thanks to you for always putting up awesome videos. I learn alot from cajon players like you, ross, daddi, pat n heidi (just to name a few). I even watch some other drums or percussion videos and try to emulate the grooves on the cajon. Then see where those grooves can come in useful in the songs i play.
Thanks! Yes, more to come soon 😉 have a look on the channel, there are many lessons, and if you want more content go to cajonmaster.com, lots of free lessons ;)
Thanks Filipe. My technique is terrible I know. Maybe it’s the individual drum I have, an LP, but I find I get a better bass tone if I just use my middle finger for that. I also get a more consistent tone on both hands that way. It also helps keep my hands relaxed for finger rolls. 🤷♂️
Hi! If it works for you, its ok. The most important is you to feel comfortable when you play. Send a video if you want me to check it and give my opinion 😉🙏
@@jbw5923 Just saw your video. It sounds good! The good think is that I see your hands relaxed, you're not tense when you play. Look, if it works for you, perfect, this is the most important. Maybe this bass technique will more be difficult to play a samba pattern for example, have you tried it already?
Hey Cajon drummers! Let me know which one is your favourite 😉 🙏
Great fan sir!. Gonaa learn alot from u...just started playing cajon.

Is it just me that hunches over and thumps the middle of the box face with the base of my palm to get an actual base sound not a slapping effect?
Nice
Thanks!
