I love this video for so many reasons that I can't even fit all of them in this comment. It's awesome to see a relatively small but wholesome community put their soul into their favorite game, especially refreshing in this era where drama is what gets the most attention. And this video was incredibly well scripted and made, perfect music selection, correct amount of humour, perfect timing to switch between showing community spotlight and route evolution made this much more than a log file that just records dates and events. The simplistic editing style was perfect, it shows that fancy effects are not needed to produce quality content. Lastly, I have never seen this game before but immediately interested by its style/atmosphere (to be expected from a Prince of Persia fan I guess), thanks a lot for making this video. Hope to see more!
This comment made my week! Also, it's amazing that you mention Prince of Persia, since that influenced Ico and Ico influenced the game development of Sands of Time! (Just google "Ico" and "Prince of Persia" to see for yourself!)
@@SanchoPandaVTW oh yeah, according to the director of Sands of Time Ico had a direct influence apparently, which is evident in the gameplay. The 2008 Prince of Persia reboot seems even more influenced by ico! It has a female companion who has magic, cartoony artstyle and enemies that look pretty much like shadows in this game.

Also I can't believe I never realised there were 53 shadows at the end, pretty sure I even tried counting them once..
Great Video, always love Speedrun histories of all kind of games 👍 i just finished the ps3 version for the first time, after playing it on PS2 back then, and gonna start a NG+ to get the trophy for finishing under 2 hours. The fact that the records are kinda close to that makes me anxious cause usually when you have such a trophy, like for uncharted, the speedruns only take like 25% of the required time. Gonna use some of the tricks here to shave some time.
PS: I didn't knew you could move the pillar against the queen, i timed it perfectly to just run to the final sword😅

@@SanchoPandaVTW Hey I used your guide you mentioned today and finished my first run. Unfortunately I had to get the Lasersword and Watermelon ending for some trophies and didn't managed to get sub2, it unfortunatly also didn't tell my time (maybe because of watermelon ending) so I don't know how much time I need to shave off . Which of these savefiles would you say should I try starting from when I retry ?
I have these: Main Gate 1:34 (too late), Water Tower 1:15, Waterfall 1:08, East Arena 0:49, Stone PIllar 0:34, Graveyard 0:16

@@Nekosphere I think you can start from stone pillar. My times in my guide are pretty demanding for the casual player. I'd recommend using the ones from this guide for comparison. www.truetrophies.com/t24214/castle-guide-trophy But don't worry about the early waterfall save it mentions with a "slight detour."
@@SanchoPandaVTW I just tried again from stone pillar today and reached maingate at 1:25 and was able to be sub 2:00! :D Got my 455th Platin now, yay! :D thanks again for the guide

In the PS3 verion I played and platinum it, there was this trphy about finishing before 2 hours, and I felt like a speedrunner by doing the thing at the first parts where you let go of Yorda to make the crane part without her and getting her back before the shadows come, just to finish the run in 1:55 and something else.
But there i so many ways to get a better time and RNG involved I'll never try for the ake of my sanity... these speedrunners are on another level.

The reason some aspects of Ico didn't age well was because it started development as a PS1 title but had to be restarted for the PS2.
Great video, ico my all time favourite game but I still can't get the under 2hrs completion time for the platinum, it haunts me to this day
