When my husband and I had our steps built for our home I asked that the steps have a five inch riser rather than the normal seven inch risers. Everyone who comes to our home loves the ease of walking up and down our steps. We are aging and this two inch difference helps so much.

I've had an outdoor shower for 43 years. My first shower was a 50 gallon steel drum on its side up on cinder blocks. I would build a small fire underneath to heat it, and it was gravity down to the shower head. I filled it with five gallon buckets carried up from the stream (three trips!). Next I had a 40 gallon propane water heater installed under the house I built that fed the outside shower. I thought my world had changed (it had!). This past fall, new shower built out of cedar slabs that I milled and a Rinnai on-demand water heater. The entire universe changed this time!

I would prefer Gray OR Grayish Blue. Brown will show more dirt OR maybe NOT show the actual amount of dirt. At least with Gray or grayish blue a soothing color to the eye, you can see if the dirt shows up or it will not get as Hot on hot days as much as Brown a dark color.

When I put tile floors in my kitchen and family room, I went outside and got some dirt from the backyard and matched the grout to our dirt. Best decision I ever made! Probably inspired from above! Paint the deck to match your dirt… saves so much scrubbing!

I agree. Just look at the warm wood tone of your roof underside. Have you thought about using a stain finish that matches the other wood accents of your bathroom exterior? That wood tone would hide dirt better. gray looks good too but I know your heart is leaning towards the brown tones

I agree that the brown would look better than the gray! It's a natural deck color and it would also pull together the house with the nature better being an earth tone.
My dad is currently battling the same cancer. He is 89, and can't have surgery. We live in Canada and so we are lucky that we can concentrate on his health and not worry about money. Prayers for your friend.

@@richdome1 : YES, GOD is GOOD! My cancer has shrunk a little the 1st year and hasn't grown since. Will find out this month (March 2024) the latest (going into 3rd year now). I have Stage 4 lung cancer and use the 'Keytruda Treatment' which is a pretty successful treatment plan. No radiation, or chemo. Thank GOD for that. I'm strong and enjoying life. Don't even feel like I have cancer, except I do get tired easily and a lot. I'm 68 yrs old.

It’s wonderful news that he will be able to get his surgery. When he said that he didn’t feel like he was receiving money that he felt that he was receiving love it was such a lovely moment. Looks like all the kindness he has put out into the world, that a little bit of it has come back to him. The deck is looking awesome too. Much safer to walk around now. You won’t know yourself with that big deck you are going to have. Have a fabulous time catching up with your brother.

Spent 6 hours today cleaning metal for our community here in Costa Rica. We are rebuilding our Salon de Communal for community events, it is also where my daughter teaches English to the children of the community.

I have always said that the reason that Lola's is so blessed is because Jordan, Kaylee and Sadie not to forget Lola ooze LOVE from every pore of the bodies and their faces and your talk. Since the beginning when I found you guys I was so impressed by your ethics with the coffee bean farmers and did not fleece them like the conglomerates. Jordan and Kaley look so alive and happy what you did in the states 48 states in 48 days giving the coffee away has come back as a blessing. Also what you did for Jose David is out of this world. It speaks of LOVE without any conditions which is stated in I Corinthians 13 in the Bible. Kaylee you look so much more alive and settled after going on the adventure with Jordan and Sadie in the States. The guys working with you is awesome. So what I am saying is that Community at Lola's Farm is giving so much love and when you do that it comes back in blessings. I don’t usually comment much on videos but I need to tell you guys something. Watching you guys over the years, I don’t think that I’ve ever met or seen two people as beautiful as you guys. You both have beautiful hearts and souls. You guys aren’t afraid to help people in their time of need. It’s not only because you are helping Jose David, it’s what you do when you go to villages to purchase coffee. You can pay the farmers what they ask for their coffee but when you realize that it’s a great coffee, you actually pay them lots more than they ask for. It wouldn’t be ripping them off but you guys just make it right by being fair. There are so many things that I could mention about you guys like giving Rodrigo land to build his dream home or setting up a fund to help your workers go to school to be educated. It just doesn’t end with you guys, your hearts are always giving.
I wish you both the most success that any two people could ever receive. God bless you both and Sadie who is a real doll. I can’t believe how much she has grown, it seems like yesterday she was just born. ❤❤❤
Match EVERYTHING to the color of your soil. Especially your sheets. The pets will get the soil everywhere. Your things will be usable for a longer period of time if you aren't bleaching it all and stuff.

I'm so glad that the money was raised so quickly, please let us know when the surgery is scheduled, and José is right, the donations were love and I'm glad that he feels it!

So funny! Every time you bring up paint colors, behind you is an excellent example of brown looking great with black. The wooden eaves with the black trim. Paint the treads with a color close to the wood and you're golden. Go Team Kaylee!

Yes, I’m with Kaylee, brown and black go together! Oh, and your beautiful sliding door on your workshop/tiny home you guys made, that stained wood with the black, beautiful!
Jordan...looks like your using Hardiplank....just paint with outdoor primer (although they look like they are already primed). Paint with an outdoor latex paint meant for stairs/steps...you can get a paint with grit in it to make them safer in your rainy weather. Should give you good service and just touch up as the paint wears. Stout looking deck/stairs...ought to last quite a long time.
