I realize that nothing is permanent but it is so good to see Tanner is continuing Jim's dream. Pete, please try to continue with updates on Tanner's progress. I and my wife are in the older part of the boomer generation and rarely eat away from the home. I dislike spending $30 and sure as hell wont ever pay $200 when I can eat healthy at home for $5
Hey Uncle Pete, thanks for keeping us up to date with Jim and Tanner 👍. Good luck in Maine Jim, may you have a happy life❤. Tanner I wish you the best on your solo journey in the future🎉. JO JO IN VT 💞
As many have commented, please keep us updated on Tanner and his gardens, as he puts his personal style and techniques on this business begun by Jim. Jim is a wonderful teacher , but Tanner demonstrates and implements all the knowledge that he gleans, proving that gardening is an ever-changing situation. Tanner is thinking outside the box, and not afraid to try new things. Go Tanner! We will certainly miss Jim, and hope that you, Pete, will find time to visit him up North, allowing us to come along, too.
I’m not sure if either of these guys realize how much they could make by making daily or even weekly vlogs. Thanks for the vids for years now Pete!! My favorites. Just great vibes. Hope to continue seeing more videos on both Jim in Maine and Tanner too.
Tanner’s place is fun and I hope we can see all his ideas and see things grow! Either he does a channel or please keep visiting him with your camera!!!! Go Tanner!!!!
Millennial here...we cook at home everyday. Probably out to eat once a month max. Lots more of us than you think. The Sunn Hemp is fantastic. I am in Clearwater on a tiny lot and getting close to crimping the Sunn Hemp! Great video, guys.
Godspeed Jim! Thanks for all the great info over the years. As for eating out "twice a week", that's 8x a month, 96 times per year (~100x) at $100 for a family, that's $10,000 a year! Yikes! Imagine what other better things you could do with that money.
As someone who has lived in maine and currently lives in florida, i cant wait to get back to the mountains. The plant varieties might not be as diverse but i can grow 5x the amount of food over the summer when you factor in the cost of property. Im glad he'll be able to spend time homesteading with his little one.
I definitely miss having some hills and mountains, I live here now but originally from CT. Also it's definitely tough to grow stuff here. More pests, summer heat and humidity is tough for plants (and humans). There are tropical fruits and what not, but I'd love to grow some peaches and blueberries but it's too warm where I'm at in Florida even for low chill hours. Pros and cons of living anywhere I guess
if you want to grow eucalyptus seeds, or and australian native, light a campfire, when the fire is dead take the charcoal or even ash and put som on the top of the soil / sand and water it in.
I think I remember that Justin Rhodes encouraged you to start your RUclips vlog. That was inspired. Thank you for everything you have presented, especially Jim’s unique approach. I am in the UK so you have a wide following. Looking forward to much more to come and wishing you all the very best ❤
My mulberries, 20 minutes away, were the same. The World's Best was laden but in the middle of the fruiting, very watery. At the end, the taste was good again. This year the Thai varieties were the tastiest.
Have you ever heard of frog fruit for a ground cover? The Wild Floridian recently did a video on it. It seems to grows really well in her yard. She is in St. Pete.
We do the same... I lived in Florida closing on our second decade... but, we also have owned a home for Ogunquit and that is the "change"... We go to Maine for the summer, and then come back "home".... The big problem here is that people have just moved into Florida, and they became Disney seagulls.... The "MINE... MINE... MINE" thing... That is what happened to our Florida home and land... Our plants, trees, etc... became theirs....
I GOT MY ORANGE TREES BACK.... When I put gluing stuff around the tree to stop the ants, and (I'm OLD)... when I put the stuff on the tree I used caution tape on the tree called "tree caution"... People from Brooklyn, don't really know about growing orange trees and didn't even steal the tape along with the trees.
I know this is late but I think a Bahia or St Augustine grass would be better as a ground cover. Peanut and Mimosa may be too aggressive to deal with if it goes into the beds.
20 percent organic matter is insane lol, that's an accomplishment. I thought that something like 8 or 9 percent was all you need, but I could be wrong? Anyway, glad to see you continuing these videos, I've enjoyed watching them and it has inspired my own fledgling gardening efforts. Also the original farm name is great, but my 6 months old's name is Theo, so I can't complain too much 😂
So they're homeschooling their children and other peoples too? That's cool that way the children should learn what they should be learning. Did you know that they are not teaching how to do math in school , they are teaching them how to use a calculator, they aren't teaching to write either, they teach them to print, no cursive.
Good luck Tanner! hope Pete can check in once in a while to update and also visit Jim up north! Thanks for the video!
I just found 21 tomato hornworms today in my hoophouse!
Good luck Tanner!
You bet!
Pete tanner get the truck ❤😂

Jim was just at my house in Cherryfield Maine yesterday! Great guy.
Very cool!
Maybe you're the one who can keep us updated on the Maine garden.
❤ please keep visiting Tanner ❤
I'm going to miss Jim's Florida videos so much, but can't wait to watch Tanner's progress. Thanks Pete!

Thanks Pete, my front yard garden is kicking again.
Looking forward to Theo's Harvest videos! :-)
amazing guys
Good luck Jim, you sure made good food available first in that area! It just grew!
You got that right!
Really hope we see more videos from Maine, and videos with Tanner in FL.

Millennial here. We don't eat out at all anymore. Prices are outrageous! (and we can afford it, but just not worth it anymore)
God bless you greeners

Yes! Thank you!
I also had a Eucalyptus Lemon Bush. It went wild and grew huge! I loved the smell from it!
I would love to see future updates of all these Master Gardeners. I really enjoyed this video.
Will do!
I was thankful to find that one of the ads for your show was of Justin Rhodes and not Kamala. One add I didnt skip.
😂

nice video, my friends ! always an interesting chat with those two
Glad you enjoyed it
Gonna miss fl jim updates. Are we still going to see the property on here
Definitely!
My cucumbers hate the high temps even if they are generously watered, they taste bitter.
Is the eucalyptus species Lemon scented gum? Corymbia citriodora? Lemon Myrtle?
I am growing corymbia but the species we are discussing here is a variety I bought from Johnny’s seeds called lemon bush.

20% organic matter. 😮
was jim already in maine this year and return to help with the transition?
The intention was always for Jim and I to do two seasons together to help with the transition.
What is the name of the compost supplier you mentioned. I believe you said patriot poo. I looked them up and could not find them.
p8triot poo
Hi hi hi
