We've always wanted to check out Zanzibar and stone town. Really cool to have someone local show you around the market in stone town... it always makes the experience better. The locals were super friendly and the street food looked super delicious would love to wander the streets see freddy Mercury's place and eat.
Such a cool video guys! I enjoy every second of it!! Love the drone shots and the info is on point!! ☺️ new subscriber here 🍀 ready to follow your adventures!
Memories! I remember going to those food markets. I think I ate octopus for the first time there. Somehow I miss the fort and ampiltheres though. Another reason to go back!
Still can’t believe you’ve been all the way in Zanzibar, and it’s only a 3,5 hour flight for us 🙈😅 But yes, we also want to go back! We decided not to try any meat or seafood at the market 😅
@@BeingBedingfield I (Kendra) studied abroad in Dar es Salaam for a semester. Our class took a trip to Zanibar and I liked it some much I went back when we had spring break.
Stone town is definitely our type of place. Such beautiful architecture right on the beach and so much unique food! All of the things you tried looked so amazing. We had no idea Zanzibar was such a great food destination!
We also didn’t know they had such a big food culture! Wish we could’ve tried more! Our resort didn’t really feature the local cuisine that much and we didn’t have any other restaurants in the area 😕
@@BeingBedingfield that is a bummer the resort didn't feature much of the local cuisine. I would think many visitors would be interested in trying local dishes.
This brought back so many memories! I had to quickly grab some loose pyjama trousers (they were nice fancy ones that looked like regular trousers) from my bag as we got to stone town as I was still ‘resort dressed😅’ it’s such an interesting little place, we loved the sugar cane juice in Zanzibar 😋 You guys looked like you had a lovely time, we had a couple of local young guys get a little aggressive at Craig for just holding his camera in the street which made us a little edgy in Stone town. Luckily our tour guide ushered them away pretty quickly.
It didn’t look like the locals minded the female tourists in resort wear 🤷🏻♀️ but we didn’t want to take a chance, and rather wanted to be respectful of their culture, just like you guys did 😁 I must say, people were quite keen to be on camera 😅 don’t know if it was because everyone knew our tour guide haha but we kept asking him if it was ok to film and he was the most keen 😁
Zanzibar is an awesome place, we've been twice now staying at Double Tree Zanzibar Nungwi in the north, BTW they have a great pool bar! We took an excursion to the southern most part of the island and swam with the dolphins, thats quite an experience and that includes the road trip! Craig I share your passion for avaition!
Hi Gary, hopefully we can also go back to Zanzibar one day, really fell in love with the island 😊 We’ve seen pictures of Double Tree, looks really really nice 🤩 and perfect location on the north 👌 Swimming with dolphins must’ve been really special! I’m sure you and Craig will have lots to talk about then, he loooves all things aviation ✈️
So much great food options at the market! I like doing tours with guides... makes me feel safer and I usually end up learning more too. The sugarcane juice sounds delicious. I love the night market all lit up, it looks so pretty. A pizza sandwich 🤣 I love Nutella ❤️
Our guide taught us so much history, unfortunately we couldn’t include it all in the video. But we didn’t know that there was so such rich culture in Stone Town. The Nutella Zanzibar pizza was absolutely delicious 🤤
Hi, I am so happy that I came across your youtube channel! A friend and I will be staying at Zanzibar Bay resort from Saturday. We are also South Africans and have a tight budget in terms of excursions. What was your total excursion expenses for both of you?
Wau. Idk if I can try that food. The streets are cool. Thank you for sharing
Thanks so much for watching 😊 the street food was amazing 😅
Very nice video. Looks like a nice place to visit.

Hi 👋 thanks so much for the comment and welcome to our channel 😁💕
So, we’re you worried anytime walking the back streets (feel unsafe). I liked the way the food was. 🌴🌴Aloha
We didn’t feel unsafe at any time, but we did have a guide though 😅

This is way back in 2002 though, so forever ago.
