That hotel room is so cool looking. Full bathtub, huge balcony in the middle of the city, nice! Can't remember the last time I stayed in a hotel with a bath lol.
I was there in January 1996. Lovely snorkelling and Spice tours. Food was extremely fresh and so many choices. Very lush. Beaches are beautiful. Gentle people, rich history. Can’t wait for your next filming. Thank you.
Awesome Video Jason. The only time I heard of Stone town Zanzibar was where the Late Great Freddie Mercury was Born. Now I have learned more & Thank You for taking me along. Stay Safe & Well.☘✌.
Fantastic video! We stayed in the same hotel on our visit to Tanzania in 2015. We would recommend you to go to Pemba & Mafia. Two beautiful and very different islands. 🇹🇿 🌍
Thanks Jason, what a great video, you made my day as I saw my cousin who I haven't seen for a few years, he is the man in yellow t-shirt with a green plastic bag, then you finished it off with Foro, my favourite place in Stone Town, looking forward to seeing the next video of my soon to be town, Nungwi ❤️❤️
Jason thank you for your fascinating video! :) Really enjoyed seeing the market and all the places you showed in Stone Town! :) Thank you for all the information you provided! :) I liked seeing the on-screen titles you added :) Awesome video Jason! :) Thank you for sharing your adventures! :)
Thanks, Jason, for sharing your scenic walk and wanderings through Stone Town and your knowledge about what you film. Not sure how you find your way through the maze of narrow streets. Yet so much of this place, its history, and the Anglican Church with the former slave market platform as its altar is poignant beyond measure. Safe Travels, Sylvia
I really appreciate your work. We started watching your channel with the Pakistan videos.. never did we EVER think Pakistan would be on the list. The way you delve into non-touristy areas.. just great. Thank you for the knowledge you bring!
Love your videos ! It’s like going on a new trip and discoveries every time I watch you … and this is from the comfort of my sofa and without spending a penny
Also enjoy your editing. Your videos flow seamlessly to us! We also enjoy when you add the cultural music of the places you visit in your outro! It's the "small" details that give even more respect to peoples & country!
Great video. Thanks for providing history lessons in your videos. It’s encouraging to see a Brit recognize your country’s roll in the horrid slave trade.
Stone Town was the place were Freddie Mercury was born. I think there's even a small Museum dedicated to Him, maybe downtown. Anyway, great Video, full of excitement colors. Keep on traveling and Stay Safe. Greetings from Spain 🚩🚩🚩
karibu Zanzibar...the kofia(barghashi) looked soo good on you...you should definitely try urojo sold at foradhani park night food market or in the streets of stone town.
We British started the slave trade ? Ended it yes. The slave market was eerie so sad . Was there in 1967. Not allowed to wander around was escorted all the time orders of V Pres. Karume. Great video hardly has changed apart that 20 Tanzanian shillings was then equal to one British Pound
Enslaving the way white folks did it? Yea, they started it. Enslaving people bc they felt superior bc they were white is different than enslaving your enemies or indentured servitude. Learn some history. Read something instead of trying to make yourself feel better. You didn’t do it, so why try to whitewash it? Just accept history for what it was so we can all move forward. White folks literally invaded these countries and took people as slaves. Why do the Europeans need plantations in Africa? Why couldn’t they bring over other Europeans to work their fields? Like bruh. Yall started it.
What’s surprising was its incredibly clean unlike the mainstream media portrays Africa. Look at the people decently dressed, kind, friendly, welcoming people ❤
It’s a tourist spot, those are usually a little nicer, but this place is off the coast of Africa, I’m pretty sure. I think everywhere is the same, every place has its bad areas and good areas. However, many countries in Africa are just all together not safe.
Jason, I really love your videos, which are so interesting and your commentary is excellent, but please buddy the continuous panning of the camera back and forth, and all the whizzing around made me feel giddy and gave me a bit of a headache. A little panning is good, but it was very hard on my eyes after so much use of it.
Premium content mate! Some one looked in pain in the market clip - have you seen many bad situations out there? I was in Marrakesh once guy on floor with leg cut wide open begging for medical help. I know this is a third world country just wondered what the other side was like that maybe not fit for the camera ..
it's stomach in the banana curry stew yeah, I'm East African from Kenya but I must say, I haven't seen that combination before. When we eat stomach or matumbo as we call it in Kenya, it's usually fried and goes with ugali accompanied with veggies. Was it nice mixed with the banana stew? We don't cook our bananas(matoke) in swahili that way either. Unless I'm wrong then someone correct me. But the curry bit of it looks interesting, defo would like to try it some day. Btw I love your videos, keep up the good work.
New to your channel and your tour was excellent and informative. Thank you for pointing out that slavery was and is African even in part of Africa today. We are being falsely told that "slavery" was blacks being enslaved by White Europeans, when in fact it was Black Africans who captured and enslved other black Africans and traded them to Europeans. The reality is that White Europeans ended slavery while black Africans continued it. You did not give prices on food or hotel, or did I miss that. Thank you again. Blessings, be healthy, be safe. I will continue watching your channel and learning more about you. It seems that you are British, is that true?
Is the White guilt THAT strong that you had to make this post to a video that had NOTHING to do with race? The Zanzibar slave trade was controlled by Omani ARABS... NOT Black AFRICANS... Go post your drivel somewhere else and lets turn this video into yet another race obsessed debate.
That hotel room is so cool looking. Full bathtub, huge balcony in the middle of the city, nice! Can't remember the last time I stayed in a hotel with a bath lol.
@Fanny On my face big ups 👍
I love all the history and stories you add to your videos. Definitely makes it more distinguish to me
I was there in January 1996. Lovely snorkelling and Spice tours. Food was extremely fresh and so many choices. Very lush. Beaches are beautiful. Gentle people, rich history. Can’t wait for your next filming. Thank you.

Who else noticed the love bite on Jason’s neck?😮
Stunning place. Love your vlogs and the way you look at the sites and details.

Great tour. I was on Zanzibar in 2009 and the meat market hits different...and the smell. THE SMELL!
Also enjoy your editing. Your videos flow seamlessly to us! We also enjoy when you add the cultural music of the places you visit in your outro! It's the "small" details that give even more respect to peoples & country!

I was in Dar es Salaam between 2003-2006. Been five times to Zanzibar. It seems to me that Stone Town hasn’t changed that much. Safari njema, Jason.

As a car nut, it's interesting to see all the 2hand imported cars from Japan they got there.
This is one of the better videos I've seen of Stone Town, but where is the Freddie Mercury museum?, his childhood birthplace*
Content good 👍
Nice
First Time Zanzibar Discovered By Iranian Sailors!!
Is that a hickey jason? 😀
Hahaha how does one hookup in Zanzibar? Need tips
@17:41 is tripes, the stomach of a cow or other ruminant used as food

Have you ever been to Venice to compare Zanzibar with Venice is crazy maybe you can compare to the streets off or the alley ways of Varanasi
That hotel room has so much more character than the bland rooms of the hotels here in the U.S.
My Tanzania 🇹🇿
Mango is my favorite

You should try it is delicious!
@@OnlineMathsAcademy I definitely will, I’ve been to Zanzibar but that was like 10 years ago, this video made me want to revisit. So very soon.
