Nah, GM players and T500s live competing, thats why they put in the work to get good. Like im not sayjng the bronze dad doesnt enjoy the game, its just that everybody has their own way.
@@Arin-3 GM players are the type of folks that LOVE competition, BUT:
They can't que with a full group (2 player groups max) and communication in public lobbies is wonky at the best of times.
Aka the really competetive crowd has plenty of reasons to get frustrated by the Overwatch "ranked experience".
"Casual Bronze Dad" won't mind, he just wants to have a good time.
This is a simple case of "ignorance is bliss".

There are several very important requirements for being a dad. All of them must be met, or you lose your dad license. Admiring RVs is one of those requirements. If you do not at least give a passing glance to every RV you come across, your dad license is to be immediately revoked.
I'm not even close to becoming a Dad but RVs are pretty lit.

Nah he knows, I was in bronze and done the same thing, just didn't bother to reload, thought well why bother when it does it itself.

That might be the case actually.
I think its adorable that he's a Torb otp when Torb is (as far as I know) one of the only dads in the cast who's child is also playable. And hey, both torb's gameplay and his animations describe his relationship with his turret akin to a father and son. In a weird way, being a father and a torb main are just a perfect combination.
I think the only other dynamic like that is Ana and Pharah

@@bubbaddd3d799 It definitely looked like you had fun this game!! Keep up the good work. Amazing turret placements, legit that of a higher elo player. Love the flank Molten Cores too. Low elo players never expect flanks pretty much, and I mean up through all the "metal" ranks.
Heck, even by the turret simply existing in the positions you put it, you forced the tracer to waste resources to TRY to kill it, and usually she died in doing so even if she succeeded. And the highground made her even less effective against turrets due to her range on her gun spread and no vertical mobility. Keep up the great work and the fun!

@@bubbaddd3d799 should consider giving some other heroes and roles a try, even if you go back to torb it will improve your game having played the other heroes and expanding your knowledge of the game
He might have Bronze rank, but his turret placement is definitely OWL level
Getting to the point where someone on the other team is solo ulting your turret and STILL dying to it anyway is an achievement in it of itself.

Bro, that 180 E to revert, to dodge the hammer and force shatter into the cart was more epic than anything I have seen in the OWL.
I have an odd appreciation for people who play games just for fun. I’ve come across many people who take games way too seriously, that it’s unhealthy. This dad here just seems to be having fun, and I can appreciate that.

I hold the belief that there’s truth in equal parts to both pushing through a challenge, and knowing when it’s best to just throw in the towel. If someone is on a losing streak, but they’re mature enough to handle their emotions properly, pushing through that losing streak could be beneficial to sort of ‘stress testing’ themselves, and see if they can ascertain what’s causing their losses and fix it. If it’s just making them angrier and angrier, and they’re not mature enough to handle their emotions, with no performance benefit, it’s best to just hang Overwatch up for the day and go do something else.

I am 56 and have been playing since oct. last year. In oud out of gold with soldier, pharah and sombra. I love this dang game. My son bought it from me on my birthday last year and I have been addicted ever since.

I'm 48 and play Overwatch. Much respect to Flats for honoring the Dads of Overwatch.
Torb is the ultimate Dad main. He protects his home with turrets and lava moats and a shotgun. He provides security for his support family by keeping those pesky Tracers and Genji's at bay.
I'm not a Dad myself, so I main Lucio and Soldier 76 on the offensive, but if I were a Dad, I too would main Torb.

@@megamecha100 what the other guy said and every now and then I want to switch things up and switch a hero because playing the same support everytime is quite boring, but by doing so I suck a lot and get called out by my teammates (not in ranked btw just in quickplay mostly)

He asked glasses for colour blindness, yes there are such things and the came had colour blind mode also. Maybe that's why he kept shooting his own team mates so much?

Things I learned from this vod: 1 - In bronze everyone is teammate and enemy team, just shoot anything that's move ftw. 2 - I need Flats's voice in the game saying "this is your turret, please, stop shooting your own turret" for every time my shots pass through my turret. 3 - Do not question a dad's Torb nut.
Dead serious, those turret placements were shockingly good for a bronze. Also LOVE the flank Molten Cores. Guess the 1 tricking of Torb pays off! But yeah just being more discretionary with his firing would prolly go a long way, even if his aim isn't so great, he'll be able to focus on more important stuff, also not have to reload as much.
I'm so glad he alpha'd the tracer who originally seemed to be a bit of an issue. You love to see it.
