- I have made this video before.. but here's a better updated list of what I think are the best mods you can do to your FRS/BRZ/86. The video I made a while back about the 5 best affordable mods for an FRS/BRZ/86 was off of advice from friends and advice from other RUclips videos. Now that I have modified my car and put a fair share of money into it, I have had first hand experience with the mods and can tell you if they are honestly worth it. These mods are mods that you NEED to do to your FRS/BRZ/86 to unlock the full potential of the car. These mods are also not that expensive (affordable) but they can be upgraded. uel headers and exhaust is all you need :D
put an axleback exhaust on earlier this month, putting on my uel headers tmr and getting my tuner tmr. gon be running that for a lil til i can get a turbo :) then once we blow the engine up xD we gon LS swap the 86

Hey man nice video, I want to ask you, for a GT86, 2014, which has a Borla S catback exhuast (the sound is tamed and comes out alive mostly in Sport mode only). It is great because no drone at all in the cabin.
My question is, if I install an UEL header like yours + tune, to make the car even more sporty sounding, would it mask the Borla sound and make annoyingly high sounds in the car? Or it would logically just improve the Borla sound when pedal is stepped?
I don’t like drone & very high sound, I had the Invidia N1 and changed to Borla to reduce my headaches on the road 😂
I like the Borla but just want to see if I can make it more sporty sound to achieve the sweet spot
UEL Headers does open the car up a bit especially with that Subie Rumble. Its really what is after the UEL Headers that is going to decide the tone of the exhaust. For example, the N1 you had before or even my setup does consist of drone which can be annoying for long drives etc. More sporty maybe look into exhausts that have an additional resonator (this will make it sound deeper) and for the quieter and not very high sound aspect maybe something with a muffler or dual muffler (this will tone the exhaust down). Does the cat less headers turn on CEL
yes, it will if you don't get the car tuned. Once you tune it, it will go away (most people do this). I also would not recommend running catless headers without a tune. So People usually do both at once. Hope that helps!

Jesus Christ all I have is a MXP and it’s loud, I can’t imagine catless over pipe and headers 😂 tbh that probably sounds like shit and is super raspy

just the stage 2+ OFT tune. Thats the tune I run 👍🏽

@@hvasci it would be a bit louder, it should be noticeable but the muffler & the secondary cat would be restricting the sound a bit. 👍🏽

Just a couple of points you should really take to heart... slow your delivery down by half...you sound like a fast talking car salesman and that is no compliment. Try pointing out the differences between your recommendations now from what you have recommended in the past and why you have changed your opinion. Make us believe in your choices!
