    if you arent able to see the login screen at all after going to port 8080, make sure you set up your container port AND local port to 8080 (my local port wasnt set to 8080)

    • @techbytetips

      Yes, QBitTorrent is pretty annoying about wanting port 8080 no matter what. So, you must use that port for the container.

    Solution: Was wrong UID. Control Panel > Task Scheduler.
    Create > Scheduled Task > User-defined script.
    General = Task: UID
    Schedule = choose Run on following date
    Task Settings = id
    Click OK.
    Ensure the settings for tasks have a log save folder to get results.
    Then Run.

    Currently, I'm running in the issue that the files are "Completed" in Qbit, but they keep in my "Downloads" folder, they won't be shoved to the "completed" folders for Sonarr / Radarr or the media folders.

    • @techbytetips
      @techbytetips  2 месяца назад

      Hi @herohagen3773!
      It sounds like you have not mapped the categories properly for the Arrs. When a torrent is added from Sonarr, Radarr, etc. it should put a category for them. Once they finish downloading, they then get put in the specific folder for the application by QBitTorrent. Then, the Arr goes and checks for completed downloads in that specific folder.
      Check all of my related videos carefully. I configure them properly for it to work.

    Followed the setup of QBitTorrent, but an added torrent says failed. Checked everything 10 times and can not find the cause of the error

      @techbytetips  Год назад

      Hi @--GOD--!
      I am not sure I am understanding your question regarding the magnet links. Can you please explain further?
      By default, the container will use the port 8080. You don't want to change the configuration of the port inside the application or the listening port of the container. You can change the exposed port in your host though.
      So, the container will continue listening on for 8080, for example, but you will reach it from outside using whichever port you pick on the left side of the ports section. It can be anything that is not currently being used in your host.
      The other port is the incoming torrent connections port. You can also change it to whatever you want in the left side, then open it in your firewall if necessary. Just don't change it in the right side or in the QBitTorrent UI.
      Hope it helps.

      That's a known issue with the arrs and QBitTorrent. You can "pause" the torrents and then they can be deleted by the arrs. As long as they are actively seeding, they can't be deleted by the arrs. If you see "completed", then they can be auto deleted.

    This guide is great! Im fully set up, but had a question. After a download is successful the file is moved into /downloads/complete/sonarr. After that Sonarr copies the file over to my /TV root directory to be parsed by my media server. However, as far as I can tell that leaves 2 copies of the file on my server. 1 in /downloads/complete/sonarr and the other in /TV. Is there anyway to have sonarr automatically delete the file in /downloads when it is done moving it to the /TV root directory?

    • @techbytetips
      @techbytetips  8 месяцев назад +2

      Normally it should behave like that but there is an issue with the arrs not clearing torrent clients for a while. Make sure to pause the torrent when done downloading loading and then it can clear it fine.

      @@techbytetipsHow does one pause the torrents automatically? I think I have an idea, but how do you do it?

    • @techbytetips
      @techbytetips  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hi @ocularpatdown. There is a configuration setting to automatically remove the torrents once the arrs import the files but it tends to not work as of now. It's a known bug. You can just manually pause them once they are done downloading and then the arrs will actually remove them.
      There is an option inside QBitTorrent to stop the torrent after a criteria is met. It can be the seeding ratio or time. But it is discouraged by the developers of the arrs to use that as they say it breaks the already broken removal of torrents.

    • @ocularpatdown
      @ocularpatdown 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@techbytetips I think I encountered that bug. My torrents stalled and I can’t get them restarted. Back to square one or two.

    • @techbytetips
      @techbytetips  7 месяцев назад +1

      Stalling can happen due to many things,@@ocularpatdown; for example, if there are not enough seeders/peers for the torrent, it will stall. Sometimes, when files that were supposed to be downloaded and you accidentally move them they stall until you do a force scan of the files. Try restarting your container and forcing a rescan or advertise.

      Hi@@NTblog! I was working on making the video for you but I noticed a few things.
      1. The QBitTorrent application, since it is running in Linux (container), doesn't have the Create Torrent option under Tools. The only way to create a torrent in linux is using the 'mktorrent' binary in the command prompt but it is also not included in it.
      2. I checked Download Station and it also doesn't allow for the creation of torrents.
      This means that your options are:
      1. Finding another container image that does include the mktorrent binary or has some sort of tool to create it in the GUI.
      2. Use the QBitTorrent application in your Windows machine. The windows version does come with the Create Tool option.
      Then, you could grab the torrent from your NAS and, once it is done download it, remove it from your Windows PC and let the NAS do the seeding for you.
      It's a little bit cumbersome, but that's what you can do for now to seed from your NAS.
      I'll upload a video on how to do this.

      Thanks for the response, after playing with Permissions a bit i ultimately ended up rebuilding the container. What got it working for me was changing the PGID value from 100 (from my understanding = user) to 101 (admin) tested it out and i'm able to torrent the test ISO shown at 16:10 @@techbytetips

      The PUID/PGID you retrieve by running the command ID in a shell instance in the NAS, logged in as the user that you want to retrieve those values for.

    Do you have to put qbit in docker config file?

    • @techbytetips
      @techbytetips  Год назад

      I am not sure that I am understanding your question.
      When you specify the volumes, you create a folder for QBitTorrent (5:00) in the configuration folder for our docker containers and you pass it to the container to be mounted in the /config path.
      Once the container is started, it will look for a configuration file. If it cannot find it, it will create it.

    Hi thx for this tuto. It’s working perfectly but I found out that after the download and copy finished, qbittorrent keep seeding and not delete the files. Do you have a way to solve that ?

    • @techbytetips
      @techbytetips  11 месяцев назад

      It's currently a problem with some of the arr applications. Some people have suggested that you make the torrent stop once it reaches a 100% download instead of seeding and the apps kind of handle them better. I'm currently having the same issue. I just go once every week and delete the torrents that are left.

      @pret5986 6 месяцев назад

      @@techbytetipshave you solved this yet? Also how to setup that they stop after downloading?
      Furthermore this means that your allocated space gets used rather quickly because the files will be in 2 separate locations, right?

    • @techbytetips
      @techbytetips  6 месяцев назад

      Hi@@pret5986 . It is currently an issue with the applications. I just go into QBitTorrent and "pause" the torrents. Then, they are usually removed and cleaned by the arrs. If not, I delete them myself after.

      In the docker hub page. It tells you if it has a default user/pass combination.

    Hi lovely video but I keep getting unauthorized access. Any help?
    I put some of my local ports to "Auto" because it said there was a conflict. So I this is my configuration.
    Local port, Container Port
    Auto, 6881
    Auto, 6881
    8085, 8080

    • @techbytetips
      @techbytetips  6 месяцев назад

      QBitTorrent tends to be annoyingly peculiar with wanting port 8080. Give it 8080 on port 8080, then the white error page will go away.

    • @techbytetips
      @techbytetips  6 месяцев назад

      If you have another container on that port, switch it.

    • @sidesw1pe
      @sidesw1pe 6 месяцев назад

      @chi94 Besides actually having another container or service listening on those ports, it will tell you there is a conflict if you map container ports UDP and TCP BOTH to local port 6881. As shown in the video, set these to different local ports (i.e. 6881, 6882).
      If you try to map container ports 6881 both to local port 6881 *AND* set local port to 8080, as part of the same action (i.e. make those changes and click apply), you get a message saying local port 6881,8080 conflicts with other ports used by other services. In my case 8080 is not being used by anything else, so the message is wrong. I am able to successfully set the local ports exactly as shown in the video without getting the conflict message.

      @techbytetips  6 месяцев назад

      Hi@@sidesw1pe, that doesn't make sense to me. I have:
      8080 -> 8080 TCP
      8999 -> 8999 TCP
      8999 -> 8999 UDP
      And it has never given me an error. Note that 6881 or 8999 (whichever you picked) must have TCP AND UDP. They can't be the same protocol.
