Where are you from? English is a learnt /second language for you I assume. The man is English hence speaks 'original' English. Other English speaking countries USA, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia (all former British colonies) all have varied pronunciation derived from the English language spoken in England.

We all have an accent. As for "heavy" idk I can hear and understand him just fine. Too each their own though. I recommend listening to it one more time, you might start to get the hang of it, since he has some really good videos and information.
The auto-generated captions do a pretty decent job on this video, they'd probably help you out. A few inconsistencies but mostly accurate.
Since there's so much American stuff around these days people seem to find non-American accents less understandable. But this man's accent isn't really all that heavy compared to other English accents (and England has A LOT of different accents).

I have used the Poor Boys Black Hole on both dark and white vehicles and really like the finished product. Leaves a very slick finish ready for wax.
Interesting as I have NEVER seen a glaze test by any of the top detailer where Adams ever came near Poor Boys Black Hole. Ever since black hole came out all those years ago it has been the goto for dark paints glaze period. I have seen numerous light meter tests and Poor Boys was always the top spot.

Thank you for the information Jon. Just received the AG supernova. My vehicle is a daily driven, so I'm already in the struggle of fighting light scratches and swirls from branches hitting my car lol. I'm going to to adding it to my weekly maintenance wash. Hopefully this will reduce using abrasive polishing
Great video as always - no one puts the time and effort you do John into product comparisons. I don’t really use glazes as if there’s any marring or fine scratches, I will polish. I have AM Glaze but use that for the plastic chrome trims generally which it’s very good for.
Gday Jon another great vidoe mate well done. My self i use 3 different types
1. Topaz for very light hazing
2. Auto glym for medium
3. Turtle wax scratch scratch and swirl for heavy hazing and it lasts for a good time. Maybe try it mate.
That cherry glaze throw it in the bin mate or use it on the outside glass stops water marks or to keep the wife happy use it on your house outside windows and you'll get lucky.......... maybe lol
Just bought Black Hole as I had it before and loved it, then I watched your video !!! Anyway it seems there's little to choose between those covered.
I do agree with your SRP verdict. It is a great product but personally I don't get on with the powder residue and staining of trim. Got to admit though the end result of SRP is good.

Great vid. I’m mostly using af tough prep and dj limeprime at the moment but I love black hole. I found it gave a nicer look than white diamond on white and silver cars. It seemed to look more reflective.

I have and look forward to trying Supernova out Jon but my go to quick filling/cleansing polish atm is Bilt Hambers Cleanser Polish. Find that stuff really impressive, especially via machine. Really worked wonders on my Sisters Audi TT last year, so much so you could visibly see the reduction in swirls from where I had applied/hadn't applied it.
Great video as usual. Would have been interesting to see results and if there would be any difference with machine application. I have used Chemical Guys EZ Creme Glaze, Black Light and White Light.

can you go into some of the best practices for restoring paintwork and scratch ( swirl ) removal techniques. Ive got a black 64 plate ford galaxy. and for 4 years old its looking tired. you can see on the creases where its been over worked and the shine has gone. i found an old bag with 10+ auto glym products in it. so i am glad to hear it came out well in the test.

I usually use SRP on my 230 mile 2003 Golf and love it’s filling properties and value for money. Tried Prima Amigo today. I don’t think it fills as well but the car looked really glossy especially after a layer of AG UHD Wax.
Great comparison Jon, Sounds as though AG was doing great in the tests there, I use Infinity wax glazes (yes they have light and dark too and I am of the same opinion that it’s just not necessary ) and in my opinion are way better than Poorboys and Autobrite Direct, saying that, I have V1 of cherry glaze which is more of a milk and it doesn’t do very much for me.
SRP is an amazing filler / polish and leaves the panel so slippy its one I was about to buy again until Infinity wax introduced their two.
Love your channel and your videos! Question: If you’re going for the absolute most gloss, for a photo shoot on a car, what would give the car the best look? I recall that in your best polishes videos, the GU were closer to 95. Would there ever be a reason to leave the car unwaxed/glazed for a BETTER look??
As an ex detailer my boss used to swear by autoglym radiant wax polish - which was the trade name for super resin Polish. It used the leave more dust and stain trim but they changed the formula a few years ago and I don't think its gives such a deep gloss as it did although its easier now to put on and off and stains trim less I was quite dissapointed, so i moved to AD cherry glaze its easy on and off, no dusting, doesn't stain trim amazingly deep glossy on dark navy blue metallic. Doing my car bi weekly it looks and smells amazing

There are heaps on the market but it would be good to do one for average Joe eg Rain x, Armor All, Stoner plus some of the more specialized/boutique brands to comparison. Might be hard to test on automotive glass unless you do it in trips.. imagine the Golf with masking tape trips on the front windscreen.. lol

Smashing video. I've been using SRP for 5 years now and always had great results. I've found that layering it (3) really does mask the swirls and make the paint pop along with causing crazy beading.
defo yes.. working it harder and going again really seems to pack it into the scratches.. its amazing what you can fill if you work it harder.
@@ForensicDetailing I still think it's the best paintwork hand polish. Post '13 formulation is even more of a winner, it leaves no dry residue yet loads more flake pop.

Hi bud,at the moment I'm using mirror bright meguiars it seems to do the job for me,easy application makes it good polish to have if it is a glaze.
Worth noting Poorboys also do White diamond for light colored vehicles. I would imagine its performance is identical to Black hole but better to fill swirls etc in light colored cars

found a bottle of AutoBrite direct brilliance high gloss my brother had kicking around. bright pink stuff with fruity smell. compared it to area I had done with double wax and it was very impressive. going to try both of them after each other to see how that works out. done on a fiesta banger with awful scratches and created lovely reflective gloss. can still see scratches up close but from far back looks excellent
I like super resin then I use cherry glaze after even on the exterior glass. Aids wiperless driving enhances rainX.
This is a no brainer for me, as i buy my Super Resin Polish bottles for £3.33p .
A lot of people slag off SRP & are snobbish about it being too mainstream & retail. I couldn't give a toss. It's easy to use, leaves a good finish, doesn't need to be done inside a garage & is dirt cheap compared to designer brands like Dodo Juice.

I'm about to pick up a brand new car very soon and I don't want the dealership to clean it before handover but I've no idea how to clean and prep the car. Would a detailing kit like Bilt Hamber or Auto Finesse be the way to go ?
hey jason, I would just give it a nice gentle clean and carefully dry.. and take a good look at her, ideally inside with a inspection torch.. feel the panels out for contamination... skys the limit, you might want to polish it but hopefully paintwork should be in good condition and it would be a good idea to get some nice protection on the car. bilt hamber is brand I rate very highly...

Would be nice to see water behavior of these products as many people myself included would apply this after a wash but not using any other products afterwards due to time restraints etc
I can't speak to the other glazes but Back Hole works best when it is hot outside and the paint is in full sun. That's kind of the niche for Poorboy's is that most of their range can be used in full sun without any degradation in performance. The range may not always be the best in all situations but it can be used under almost any circumstance.

Another great vid Jon. Would you class Bilt Hamber Cleanser Polish as a glaze as i'd say it's very similar to SRP in terms of adding fillers.
It's comparable, if not better than SRP, in fact I'd argue it actually has more "cut" than SRP, hence my question.

Im guessing you already found the answer to this. But yes, a glaze is designed to be used prior to a wax / sealant. I find best results personally with Krystal Kleen Regloss, then Dojo Supernatural hybrid sealant, then bilt hamber wax on top.

Hi, I thought SRP was a Polish and not a glaze? As I know, glazes are for adding shine and clarity while filling stuff in.. while polishes contain abrasives and shave the paint down on the microscopic level to remove scratches or whatever?
Audio quality sounds a bit worse than usual for some reason. I would consider getting a proper mic since the channel has grown quite a bit and it would add a bit of polish for not a huge investment. Just a thought. Great video though, as always.
yer its awefull sorry. Its was the battery on the videopro. when it runs low the pre amp on the camera compensates and ups the level but this creates a hiss. To get ride off the hiss I filtered out a certain frequency but it made it sound boomey and low. sorted now.

@@ForensicDetailing if you run in some similar problems - since you edited hundreds of clips im sure you'll do from time to time, its sometimes inevitable - use a very steep slope bell curve on a digital eq plugin in the video-editor of your choice. no matter what editor you use, all of them have a particular one on board nowadays. you can get super surgical without 'harming' nearby frequenzies.
so - insert digital eq, use bell curve setting, cranck 'q' up (to max, then back down by ear) to make the filter slope narrow and surgical but wide enough to 'grab' all of unwanted stuff. with hiss you can go most of the time super narrow since its a very stable noise frequenzy wise. (with spoken content it sounds most of the time better to set multiple extremly narrow eq instances in serial and target unwanted freq precise than to use just one instance of a wider cut).
if you use filters to clean low rumble or very high freq stuff - use super steep slopes (48+ db/octave) and dial in the freq by ear. some plugs have visual representation of whats going on. use it but decide by ears not eyes.

@@stitchedlips6764 thank you.. funny as I read this Im editing and yes Im dialoguing with my rode NT1.. and it sounds wierd.. and use like a bell EQ form to boost the mid frequencies and reduce extreme high and low does seem to give better audio..
but the plugins for vegas are pretty basic. I really struggle with all the technical side of doing YT.. really appreciate your advise thanks for taking the time to help.

tdr nova is a good quality eq plugin and its free (and many others). available for windows and mac. simple install, open your editor afterwards and it should be right there ready to use.
[(limiter can be very handy from time to time to prevent clipping if you have to raise overall volume without just crancking up the volume bc that would mostly cause clipping and distortion. the limiter would 'limit' the maximum peaks but raises overall content volume (set output of limiter [within the plugin] at -0,5db and raise content volume with threshold. just try it out if needed. limiter would be always the last instance in your chain if you use other audio stuff in serial.
compressors can be useful if you have to catch peaks to would clip (and destort) and raise 'silent' parts in one go. so basically if you have uneven audio levels, technically very similar to limiters.)]
just a rule of thumb for eq's is - cut unwanted stuff instead of boost wanted stuff if possible. this sounds most of the time better and more natural. sometimes you have to cut and boost and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. there is also nothing wrong about to use multiple instances. just decide with ears and dont overdo it.
for described instance - yes, thats most of the time the case with spoken content. boost mid-freq with wide gentle bell slope (you regulate slope with 'q') if needed, and cut steep with low&high pass filters.

Hi ya, I reckon supernova must have abrasives but best to ask joe to be sure because Im guessing.. hmm its possible it might not actually but that would be damn impressive. you can work them on DA's if you want to for sure you can get a bit more out of them on a machine polisher generally.
Good review John as always, I was wondering if I used srp ,say in a month or so would this remove the fusso99 I put on in November or should I use a paint cleanser.
I wouldnt use it on top of fusso... but if the fusso is half dead you could prolly use this to scrubb off whats left.. It can be used for the sort of pre wax cleaner function yes

Fantastic video just when I was looking into buying a glaze. You helped me choose a DA polisher and your video here has helped me choose a glaze. A question if you could help me with please. A glaze should be added after a polish but before a wax yet they don't last as long (2 months+). But what if you use a heavy wax such as collinite 845, doesn't the collinite prevent the glaze from wearing off? I'm soo confused!!
good question.. So the longer the sealant or wax which sits on top of the filler lasts, then the longer the filler glaze should last. A glaze I believe usings disolved acrylic resin (or some resin). when this filler cures and fills the scratches its removed by the erosion from washing mainly but also from the environment (getting rained on).. So the better you protect the underlying glaze resin the longer it will last. So yes if your going to use a glaze, top it with a durable sealant or hybrid wax would be my advice.

Hey! long time follower here :) major question tho , on the autoglym website , it states that SRP contains silicone ... i was under the assumption silicone was a no-no on paint or anything interior .... a lot of people dont like it .... so would you say its still alright to use on great paint but a bit swirly and not have any issues down the track with removal etc ?
That was in the early 1990ies, when the product was called Silicone Resin Polish.
Super Resin Polish was developed for newer paints.
How old is the bottle of SRP? Reason I ask is I thought AG improved their formulation that got rid of the dusting from the product? I remember reading this many years ago now on DW. SRP has so many uses that its got to be the winner here. It is cheap, it can fix small scratches and fill at the same time. I remember when my mrs had an old corsa that went pink. I applied SRP via machine and my god the difference was incredible and it stayed that colour for years which shows it does have some cut to it too when applied by machine.

That would appear to be an Old version of SRP he is using. The new version is a far far better product.
Its old guys yes. More than 2 years i think. Saying that this product doesnt "dust". It just dry cures and the white crust needs to be wiped away. Not sure if its the latest version but the product works very well. prolly like I said was the jack of all trades in the pack.
Strongly suggest you try the newer version - its much better in all areas compared to the older one, including gloss and filling. Im sure you'd be surprised, I certainly was!
If you want a good jack of all trades, (i.e all in one) "AutoSmart Mirror Image", Cleans, polishes, fills and protects better than SRP and gives a nice warm glow as it's a wax based polish, unlike SRP which is an acrylic resin polish I believe.
The best thing is you can use it as a quick fix and practically wipe it on if you don't have much time like you can with SRP, but if you choose to work it, it will actually remove defects quite well as it has a small amount of real cut with some diminishing abrasives in it. If you do a panel wipe after, it really does remove some swirls and marks! The ones it doesn't remove, it fills better than SRP anyway.
But the best bit? If you find your local AutoSmart Rep, it should be around £30 for 5 LITRES!
Spac8 whilst autosmart mirror image is a good product, it's difficult to use by machine as it dries too quickly and being wax based, you can't put a sealant on top of it
Do you review any autosmart stuff,? they also do a cherry glaze, lots or valeters/ car sales use it near me probably because its quick but is it good!

May I please know if Fuso coat 12 months over any of these Glasses would ensure locking this scratches filling results for 6 months on the daily driver seating outside all the time and Fuso not compromising visual results/gloss very much please.

hi there there using a dual action polisher to apply these glazed will give lots of benefits, it will work the abrasives better and shine up the paintwork better and make a thinner film to buff.
Once the glaze is applied then yes lock it in with a wax like fusso coat.
I got it in a package so I will use it for fun but I will put the Sealant on top for sure and a shinee wax. Adams make me excited at the beginning but after using products like ANGELWAX or CARPRO, I realized it was shit like Chemical Guys

How long (%) could a glaze decrease the life of a SiO2 sealant???

Super Resin Polish followed by Extra Gloss Protection works really well
The Autoglym super resin polish is brilliant in my opinion,my friend swears by chemical guys glossworks/ez creme glazes over the autoglym super resin

Good video Jon. Would of been good if you also had blackmax. Since you made that review video of it i have been seriously considering getting it. I have a bottle of super resin polish but i think blackmax will give black paint a good finish
Blackmax will actually correct rather than fill. What it leaves behind are actually polymers to help sealants bond.
Thanks Tim. No wonder, i did see description about it saying it lightly corrects paints. I have menzerna medium cut polish and their finish polish. I think id use the medium cut polish then use the blackmax to remove the buffing trails and holograms. Also good to know it helps bonding sealants. Just need to get confidence using a DA polisher :)
Sounds like a good plan to me. I've used blackmax on it's own to remove some very light wash marring, then sealed with menzerna powerlock followed by collinite 845. Probably my favourite combination of products so far.
Would you say blackmax is good for removing buffing trails and holograms? My car has holograms and not too bad swirl marks when looking in direct sunlight. What im planning on doing for my car is: wash, decontaminate using iron fallout remover (i think bilt hamber auto wheels is suitable for the paint unless i just use there other fallout remover for the body), tar remover then clay bar, machine polish with menzerna medium cut polish then probably use the blackmax for removing the buffing trails. I have soft 99 fusso coat so will use that to seal the paint.

Don't use APC after a glaze go straight to on with wax.
If I have my paint corrected there is a benefit to put a glaze before protection? Better looking, etc?
benefits are the glaze will help mask any scratches not addressed by the polishing processing. and then its fine to stick a wax or sealant on generally. but obviously no glaze before a ceramic coating unless its a specific filler product primer designed to be used before a ceramic.
the bad side of usng a glaze. One if you have refined the paint well the glaze should not really add gloss. not been able to find any product which can add gloss to a highly refine surface.. in fact they reduce it. It can add depths though or other effects alter the way it reflects etc.. but not gloss. some also frown upon using a glaze after polishing because you cannot really look at the car and know its looking they way it looks because of the polishing process.. so if you do a poor job with the polishing but throw a glaze on the top it might look great for 3 weeks etc... dunno so many things are personal preference. I dont use glazes when I polish cars.. but I might use a glaze to polish a car quickly if you get me :)

Ive not used it genysmen but basically yes if its a filler glaze you use it in the same way.

glaze goes on first to fill the fine swirls. then wax. glaze might effect a sealants ability to chemically bond so has to be compatible sealant for the glaze (generally from same company)
Did you ever get any results back from the Brilliance Glaze testing? Is it just a bad product when it comes to filling light to medium swirls/scratches, but okay as a gloss enhancer + wax ?
I didnt. Im almost convinced I had a bad batch though.. Others tell me it fills fine but I could not get it to fill like the others. sorry I dont like to bash things but it just wouldnt fill for me. it was nice to work with though and makes the car look awesome.

I only asked because i have a bottle of Autobrite Brilliance Glaze on order and watched your video after it was too late to cancel. :( I'm gonna try it out on a really old car and see if i encounter a similar problem with filling. I'm hoping that they've reformulated the product if they had an issue with manufacturing the stuff. If they've sorted the filling capabilities, then maybe it would score higher in a new test. They've got a massive retail shop in Stoke now.
Well used autoglym shampoo and resin polish have to be honest it was not easy my car is black very disappointed with the result didn't do much to the scratches and didn't really restore the colour 😕
Thanks Jon. I understand that a Glaze should be applied before waxing or after polishing to even out the paintwork. It would have been interesting to see the results after putting a ceramic coat down then glaze then wax maybe? I wonder what results in gloss you would get?

Its a minefield. I have SRP, just tested a scratched panel, with meguirs polish (which is 99% glaze,) it was beaten by SRP on light scrtahces, they dissappeared... but some heavy scratches it didnt fill, and meguirs glaze made them dissappear except in certain light - so who knows! Dail driver, i NEED something, as i wont have any clearcoat left polishing the kids and dogs scratches out. I found adding a fillign wax too, after, took things further. maybe a test of fillign waxes would be good? sonax do some with colour in, tcut have for ages, dodo do a loads too. cheers!
you can sort of use any of them cant you pete. I would suggest trying to use as few brands as you can. thats why i sort of turned to BH cleanser polish. But SRP and megs products I found were both cool.

have a look at autoglym UHD review mate. If you want a budget wax then bilt hamber double speed. If you want high end ceramic wax then angelwax enigma

Maybe the Autobrite brilliance would of been better for this test as its just a dedicated glaze unlike the cherry glaze which is a glaze and sealant
maybe although they sound very similiar, cherry glaze was recomended to me as a good filler glaze. A part of me still thinks this bottle of product is "off". One of my patreons had it and he was getting good results filling with it, I could not get it to fill at all, no matter how much I tried. The thing that makes me think something is wrong with it, is it doesnt cure or haze. Stayed wet even if I left it an hour.. If it is just a gloss enhancer then fair play, but it says it masks swirls on the label.

the pragmatic answer is yes. but the term paint sealant could really mean so many different things in terms of the materials being used. And also the materials in each individual glaze product vary. A finger in the wind answer is your normally always fine topping a glaze with a wax. Sometimes topping a glaze with a sealant might not be beneficial for the sealants ability to bond. this is where it normally comes down to a case of sux it and see, but the best approach if in doubt is to use a combination of filler glaze and protective product that have been formulated to work together. For me if I do glaze I generally through a wax in it. theres some exceptions to that though especially with the silica primer ppolishes which we will talk about more on the channel next year.

Sorry im confused. In your last Glaze video im sure you stated SRP had no Abrasive qualities, yet at 13:08 you say it has abrasives?
Ive spoken face to face with the guys at autoglym about it, and yes for sure it contains a small amount of abrasives to help scrub and burnish the paintwork to bring up the finish. But think of it as a gloss enhancing filler glaze is the best way to go.
(when I did the glaze video I spoke to AG customers services and got told it didnt contain abrasives initially. prolly just some mix up, or the person didnt understand what I meant. no biggy)
No no just wondered because I've used it for years and clearly there are abrasives in there. I've used it with a rotary to clean headlights in the past, with no prior sanding involved and it definitely cuts the haze from them.
Pretty much my findings on Autobrite Cherry Glaze.. I never understood the rave about this product, I found it very very poor. I also found that if used as a polish (which it also claims) it induced marring. If you raise your issues on the AD page you'll simply get told it's your fault and get your comment removed. Poor poor poor.

Gave my poorboys black hole away, when I got prima amigo. Think it's better when used by machine.

Charles Cofer The Wolfgang is a fine polish with diminishing abrasives, though. Black Hole, and likely Amigo, are pure glaze. Blackfire's Paint Cleaner (formerly Gloss Enhancing Polish) is another option, but is a chemical cleaner/polish/glaze.
They also have a glaze, But I also use adams glaze depending on the condition of the paint
was having problems sourcing prima amigo I wanted to include it in the test but it was like out of stock in the UK everywhere.

No .. wax on top.
A glaze don't offer any protection at all.
The goal is enhance the look of the car either by cleaning, filling, adding additives to the paintwork etc. But if you don't top it up with a wax it wont last.

Brilliant question with various answers. Often body shops want to have an easy product to apply to worn panels adjacent to newly refinished panels. Also some proper detail shops may be asked if they can wash and cover marks until their appointment dates - cover now and fix later sort of thing. Some also don't have the ability or properly correct paintwork so instead they apply a glaze to at at least have the unit in decent conditions. Also some higher end dealerships may want to have their courtesy cars look great for clients without constantly correcting causing the paintwork to gradually become too thin.
Missed CarPro Essence+. Also works on ceramic coatings.
Essence is not a Glaze, it's a polish with added protection ;)
I was talking about Essence+ (Essence Plus). And Essence+ IS a "glaze". It's not a polish, because it has no abrasives at all.

Essence plus doesn't fill swirls well in my experience. However it does have great hydrophobic properties.
Essence plus is designed to repair a ceramic coating.
Don't hate me , but iam not a fan of super resin polish.

How many cars can I do with a 16oz bottle of Blackhole ? considering a sedan and doing all by hand
Mikhail Tal You can do a lot with a typical 16 oz bottle, one bottle will do many many vehicles, and will likely last many years. Just be sure to top either with a wax or sealant. Black hole leaves a very nice slick finish and is good on all colours including white. I do have both Black Hole and their White glaze as well, but find the Black Hole is good on white vehicles too.
When i say it will last many years, i mean that the bottle will likely be with you for years. You can use the glaze each time before you wax.
Does Black hole contain abrasives? And what wax or sealant works on top? For example Black hole + Autoglym Ceramic spray or Black hole + Sonax High Speed wax?

quite a big variance on price I noticed this shooting it and mentioned it but I checked 3 online distributors and it was coming in around 12-14 for 500ml. just impossible or hard to be able to check too all the possible venues over the years when doing these videos.

the sealant may not bond on a glaze.. so yo9u need to use a combo from a brand you know works. for example SRP+UHD. carpro essensce+carpro lite+reload. etc...
