"In our century, we've learned not to fear words." Hello, Social Media?

Wrong century ! He said that 50 some odd years ago - in the 20th century. Social media hadn't been invented yet, nor had the personal computer. I was alive back then - it was TOTALLY different dude. Phones had CORDS connected to them and were attached to walls. And that's just the start of it.....

If only in our Century we would not have to fear words.

I grew up with Star Trek. But I just noticed they didn't use the Metric System in the future.

I can't remember his name right now, but that actor did the best Lincoln impersonation I've ever seen.

I just can't enjoy the original Star Trek series. It's hard for me to see it as anything but play acting. It doesn't feel futuristic at all. 🤷‍♂️

Give it a break. It wasn't perfect, but it set a standard for all the future series and movies to meet and exceed in the future. You'd recognize the change in quality if you'd grown up exposed to the sc-fi that came before this. Today's stuff is so much better because of it.

It’s an absolute classic. It’s your loss if you can’t appreciate it.

Can you appreciate the social commentary it was making to its 1967 audience?
That is what Star Trek TOS was known for.
