Lol you guys did well. Jamaica has 14 parishes, and each parish speaks patois different, some speak faster and also pronounces words differently.
💯👋🏾🇯🇲
As a Nigeria, I can relate to the Jamaican🇯🇲 Patois ❤️❤️❤️
I keep telling people. PATOIS and how Nagarians speak is very similar... and I'm from South Africa but its not hard to comprehend patois
im jamaican and I like to watch nigerian movies I understand everything they say unless you know its a whole different language all together
@@Gabby-nn9cy see. I'm sure there's s lot of similar slang and how y'all cut some words short... It's like parallel thinking
Big up yu Self fam! Jus Gwaan push out di Works seeit? Up! Lol
Alot of Jamaicans are in Barbados. There is the yellow bus called Reggae bus in Barbados. They play Reggae tunes in the busses.
Most of the words that we use in patio is from west Africa.🇬🇭🇳🇬
Not most
Never forget the Irish influence
You both deserve a prize for the 1st section🤣🤣 But that is more of the common conversational patois mixed with English. The gentleman was doing too much! That was deep rural or cultural performance kinda talk..lol But the last lady was using more slangs. "Goodie/Goodaz" is basically mean you a top tier person, mostly used for women. Jamaicans will nice you up when they meet you, they'll call you Queen, King, General, Princess, Daddy, Mommy, Topman, Empress, My Lord.. lol
Well they're basically saying Rihanna's song "Work" is done in Jamaican patwa or some of it is... Well the song is essential a Dancehall song.
Werk by Rihanna has some patwa/patois in it e.g. "seh mi affi werk"
This was fun.
I'm a jamaican but you'll cracking me up trying to understand the words
Did you know that rasta man from St. Elizabeth was in the movie marked for death with Steven seagal
Seems you guys can understand the Patois slang a little bit
Different parts of jamaica speaks differently 💯
Am first here ❤️❤️❤️
Every island has a patois, sometimes called creole
Í came to the comment section to say this. The english patwah in the Caribbean Works on the same basis but each Island has their own unique flavor to it. Anyone not familiar With patwah automatically Would think That person is Jamaican but they could be From One of the other english speaking Island. (sorry, having trouble Word my keyboard)
I got all but one lol
I would love for you guys to react to some reggae videos. Start with Beres Hammond. Pick any of his songs.
We’ll check it out. We created an entertainment channel for this youtube.com/@thedemouchetsreact2.0
😅😂😂😅😂😅😂😅
This guy was funny and speaks the patwa closer to my parish. 😆
The ones who referenced Rihanna are correct though. Rihanna uses Jamaican patwa often in her songs. She is not Jamaican, she is Barbadian. There is Barbadian pathois as well that is different from Jamaican patwa. It is very common for non-Jamaicans (Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, etc.) to use Jamaican patwa in their music as it's more popular and familiar to Americans despite there being so many different islands each with its own pathois.
Every thing they are saying are common phrases.
Jamaica has an Irish, West African accent....the Irish were the first slaves sent to Jamaica by Cromwell...
I don’t think that is right the slaves mainly came from Ghana Nigeria and more
@Verabaddie876 ...you need to read your Cromwelian history...lots of people don't know this, just like lots of people dont know why Caribbean nationals came here as it wasnt because of shortage of men after the war, more like Brits deserting Britain for Canada, Australia etc.....Jamaicans from Jamaica know this though...
@@glastonbury4304 not all Jamaican people know that
@@glastonbury4304 plus I am pretty sure that the slaves were African people taken by the British
@Verabaddie876 ...well not all I guess as that's a bit general, but most and all that love history...especially in BHM 💞
They didn't use the hardcore patois
