    After 9/11, these 2 rigs were brought out of the spare/reserves. Truck 1 had a 1999 Seagrave Tower Ladder and a 2000 Seagrave Engine on 9/11, that were both destroyed. Then they were given the spares you see in this video until Seagrave built a new one in 2002, which was just replaced itself by a 2012.

    Engine 55’s used 1988 Mack CF sounds like an old 2001 Thomas school bus by the sound of it’s diesel engine

    i was blessed to be able to spend my first 5 or 6 years of firefighting in NJ experincing riding the side step of our 1982 and 1986 3D pumpers. just like the guys in this tower in the video. it never got old. that was 1993 to around 2000 before we were no longer allowed to stand. Max crews went from 6 to 4

    @mcrking35 their newer rig at the time was crushed, they were using the spare as the frontline apparatus until the new rig arrived, it was 4 months after 9/11.

    Engine 7 and Ladder 1 are using used Mack Rigs because their Seagrave Rigs were destroyed as well as Engine 55 in this video Ladder 120 did the same so it was basically Engines 7 and 55 and Ladders 1 and 120 using Mack Rigs

    It could've been a rig in the spare pool re-numbered as truck 1 for the time being.

    This video could have been taken after 9/11 as they used a reserve Mack until they took delivery of a new Seagrave in later 2002. The same truck in this video Mack Tower ladder 1 was in the documentary 9/11 which aired Feb 2002.

    @mcrking35 1 Truck had this MAck right after 9/11 , if you watch the 9/11 Documentary By The Naudet brothers it says we got new rigs , not new rigs but ones to replace the others andthey show This Mack Tower Ladder going out

      Yes precisely cousin I’ve watched the documentary also there’s one taken place at Engine 79 Ladder 37 and Battalion 27 with Michael Puzzeferri which you probably know that my maternal grandfather John J O’Rourke was working with him in that firehouse at the time as one of the battalion chiefs that day. Which if anyone else knows John J O’Rourke besides my cousin Johnny and myself give me a reply on here @FDNY

      He’s probably the guy that gets out of the truck at 0:55 as he has the probie shield on his helmet. January 2002 he would have still been under his probationary period.

    • @NickP7B
      @NickP7B 2 года назад

      @@marcitos_9329 Yeah he was definitely still at Engine 7 and Ladder 1. After his Probationary Period he transfered over to Hazmat 1. That is definitely Tony in the video.

      @@marcitos_9329and no he was not aboard Ladder 1 in this video he was transferred to Engine 7 later on after 9/11 as seen in the Naudet film, from June 2001-September 11th 2001 he was assigned to Ladder 1 but since then he was transferred to Engine 7 as a temporary assignment unit until he got promoted to the SOC or Special Operations Command with HazMat 1 he was then transferred to Squad 288 and HazMat 1 in Queens after getting his promotion as an experienced firefighter he responded to the largest fire after 9/11 which was in Manhattan after moving to the HazMat unit but I don’t know what box number it was and the location of the fire, this was a 3rd alarm fire it sent multiple units from The Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens such as Rescues 1-4 Squads 1, 18, 41, 61, 252, 270, and 288 even HazMat 1, Collapse Rescues 1-4, all engines ladders battalions divisions marshalls safety chiefs fast trucks soc compressor soc support mask service staging area manager safety coordinator purple k units foam units foam tender 238 field comm 1 hazmat engines acting engines acting ladders acting rescues acting battalions acting divisions acting squads high rise units satellite units and much more, one of the largest fires the FDNY battles when it comes to electrical fires is a transformer either in a vault or on a power line causing a manhole explosion a conduit which can cause an explosion from a metal object such as a jackhammer when contacted, these fires send a high amount of voltage to the transformer if underground or above street level and you can hear the electrical supply such as the voltage sounding usually a transformer vault is more than 1000 volts you can’t measure a transformer with a multimeter or DVOM due to the voltage volume it has, Rescue 1 responded to all electrical fires one in Queens before 9/11 one in Midtown Manhattan on West 38th Street and 6th Avenue and now one on East 51st Street and 5th Avenue near Engine 8 Ladder 2 and Battalion 8 the one on West 38th Street and 6th Avenue was 5 blocks south of Engine 34 and Ladder 21 and this was in Bryant Park just a few blocks south of Hell’s Kitchen, and then the one in Queens this one happened not far from Engine 261 and Ladder 116 unfortunately Rescues 2,34, and 5 were on other assignments in their areas and sent Rescue 1 to replace Rescue 4 which they’re located at 530 West 43rd Street (formerly Engine 2’s quarters)
