The reason why BlackPink was able to break all those records and become this internationally popular was because girl groups before them opened K-pop to foreign markets, and Girls' Generation was one of the biggest contributors to that. During their peak GG's popularity was such that for 3-5 years straight they were far ahead in popularity than all other K-pop groups, including huge boy groups like Big Bang, and were called the insurmountable wall of K-pop. That is something K-pop gg's still struggle to do till date. No matter how popular BP, RV or Twice have been from 2014-present, EXO in their peak and BTS were more dominant overall. Girls' Generation's popularity was insane in their peak, not only internationally, but they had completely conquered SK and Japan. Also, views and RUclips records aren't the only things that decide how iconic an artist is. GG debuted in 2007, BP in 2016. GG hasn't been active since 2017, but still appears in all lists of top ten most popular girl groups every year. There is no comparison there. In 10 years, there will be another gg which will break all of BP's records, that will not make them more influential in K-pop history than BP, and definitely not Girls' Generation.

I think You would like Mamamoo. They are not as big as Blackpink or Twice, but they are very respected in Korea and in the industry. They do different genres, good quality songs, good, well written lyrics.... They really are the best vocal girl group right now and they have one of the most credited rapper as well. Their live performances are breathtaking, especially the vocal-focused ones. And they are just different, they have their own style and it's really not similar to any other kpop group. Dreamcatcher are my absolute fave group and they're pretty underrated, Scream is lowkey my fave kpop song ever! They do a lot of rock inspired music and have a horror/sci-fi/fantasy concept. Also do love Twice, they're popular for a reason

Twice, Red Velvet and BlackPink are the trio of kpop history...They are the queens of what they do...and their popularity will never fade out...such is their impact on whole kpop but Girls Generation is the nation's group all girl groups look up to them for a reason...you need to check out all these groups
there is in fact a group with over 20 members ! they are called "NCT". currently there is 23 members ! NCT are separated into units like : NCT U, NCT 127, NCT DREAM, and then their Chinese subunit called WAYV. I really recommend checking them out! all the members are extremely talented and their music is a 10/10 !

Biggest and most influential GG in K-Pop history is Girls Generation, also called SNSD. Every K-Pop generation has or had its defining Girl Groups. They usually come from the "Big 3" K-Pop companies (SM, JYP, YG). For 2nd Gen K-Pop its "Girls Generation" (SM), "Wonder Girls "(JYP) and "2NE1" (YG). For 3rd Gen its Blackpink (YG), Twice (JYP) and Red Velvet (SM). For 4th Gen, the current Gen, its at least "ITZY" (JYP) and Aespa (SM). Who else it might be? Only time will tell. Maybe (G)I-DLE, Everglow or some of the even newer groups.
(G)I-DLE has cemented it's place at the top of 4th Gen, they came back after a year and two months hiatus and got the biggest hit of the year so far, TOMBOY has 167 PAKs!!! As for groups that don’t pull that many numbers but make high quality music, I’d suggest checking out the hidden gems of Kpop: Neon, Insomnia by Yukika Loonatic, Girl Front, and Sweet Crazy Love by Odd Eye Circle Sonatine by LOONA 1/3 Scream by Dreamcatcher Butterfly by LOONA Butterfly by WJSN Destiny by Lovelyz Galaxy, The Rain by Ladies Code Red Sun, Bazooka by GWSN Deepened by Brave Girls all Loona solos Pporappippam by Sunmi All these songs can be found ranked highly on RYM, which is known for its audience not to really favor kpop so for them to find these good speaks for the music. Loona and Yukika in particular are very popular among non-kpop fans on this website and rightfully so.
Bruh, let's be real. I used to love SNSD just because they were pretty. I am not diminishing their accomplishments, but I remember back then that The Boys and I Got A Boy weren't so well received, but a lot of fans like myself still diehard supported SNSD just because they were SNSD and pretty and like every girl wanted to be them. But yeah, 2NE1 also was THAT one cool girl group with BADA** WOMEN energy, and they were def. fan wars between SNSD and 2NE1 fans xD I think 2NE1 was also pretty looked up to GLOBALLY as much as, if not more, than SNSD back then.
in 2016 Girls' Generation did not release a song because they were holding a world tour concert and they released another song in 2017 after they finished holding a world tour concert while celebrating their 10 year anniversary, then from 2017 until now they have not released a song alias haven't made a comeback in 5 years 😭

You should definitely check out (G)I-DLE. They have a lot of different concepts and their leader Soyeon is a really good rapper. She also wrote and produced nearly all of their songs and she was on the K/DA songs Pop/stars, More and The Baddest, together with another (G)I-DLE member (Miyeon). Their newest comeback is Tomboy which you've seen in the video (02 in 2022) and has more of a rock sound. I would also recommend their songs Lion, Oh My God, Hwaa and Hann (Alone). They all have a dope rap. For a more hip hop style you should check out Uh-Oh or My Bag where all of the members rap. But their debut Latata is also very good :D I'll love it if you would react to them! They're my number 1 because they brought me into K-Pop but all of the other Girlgroups are great too. So I'm looking forward for more K-Pop reactions :)
You would totally love Mamamoo and their solo work especially. They write their own music, lyrics, do composing, and basically built their company up. Mamamoo songs like "HIP", "Aya", "Where are we now", "Decalcomanie", "My Star", "4x4ever" are amazing, but since you like more rockish sounding music, I recommend Mamamoo Moonbyul's solo work like "Eclipse". They try every style: rock, rap, electric sway, so much RnB, ballad, jazz, dance music, arabic, joke songs. Their juniors are Purple Kiss, i recommend "My heart skip a beat", "Zombie", "Skip Skip". and Itzy's song voltage is also great. I listen to an insane number of girl groups so I have to stop here or else I will just continue.

omg billlie is a CRAZY group. they debuted last year with "ring x ring" and i think they really bring something different and special to kpop. i'd definitely recommend their two recent title tracks, "ring x ring" and "gingamingayo" which you heard during the 2022 section.
YG Artists Characteristics are: charisma, swag, great rappers (they have the best rappers in kpop industry), unique voices, great live performances, and release few songs prioritizing quality over quantity. In fact their middle name are swag and charisma. Among the biggest labels in Kpop, BLACKPINK's company (YG ENTERTAINMENT) doesn't skimp out on the budget for all their artists' videos. YG ENTERTAINMENT by the way is the biggest label in Kpop and in South Korea known for their hip-hop roots. Hip-hop is YG's signiture, that's why artists like BLACKPINK has such very good charisma in live performances and especially in rap. Of course they pay attention to vocals and dance too but rap is where they specialize in and YG artists' stage presence are insane!! Among the big label in KPOP, YGE is known for spending the most on their astists' videos. KPOP who worked in K-industry were interviewed unanimously mentioned how YG does not play around their videos and spend maybe too much (for some people) on their artists' outfits. This is especially true for BLACKPINK. BLACKPINK music videos are known for NOT using CGI and green screen at all (the only one known is one of their debut tracts "WHISTLE"). They'd rather build multiple physical sets and use practical effects (if you're interested, they have the behind the scenes of every music video they did. They named them "Making Film", it's on their youtube channel. Just search up the music video + making film). YG ENTERTAINMENT (their label) really said: Music video? Nah. If we didn't spend at least 10M USD it aint a legit a music video. Let's just call it a perfromance instead.

GIDLE is the best, selfproduce almost all of their song. The leader Soyeon is the one who produce all of their song...plus Yuqi and Minnie also have produced some of their song and heres Miyeon learning...there will be one day all of GIDLE member is the producer and people will scared when talk about self produce.
Mamamoo may not have alot of views like other groups but their vocals, discography, and stage presence is top notch. They are not kpop idols, they are artists who are highly respected by senior artists as well as netizens. That's not to say other groups are untalented or not any good, because they are good. It's just that mv views, or amount of albums sold does not mean they are the best. Focus on the vocals, performance, and lyrics instead of popularity. Now, these are my opinions and I don't mean to insult anyone's favorite group. This is a reaction video and this is my reaction to it.

Really hope you can check out Mamamoo! They were the first group under their small company and built them up. They're absolute vocal queens! I recommend watching Mamamoo's Dingo Killing Voice Live Medley their songs HIP, Egotistic, Starry Night, Decalcomanie and Yes I Am and so much more. Their MVs may not have made the cut for the years they started to blow up internationally in 2018 onwards!

The storyline of their lore is labeled as mysterious, quirky and sometimes spooky. thae song in the list is called "GingaMingaYo" which roughly means being confused. that mv has references to a couple of films (like the shinning) and the name of the album is "the collective soul and unconscious" which references Sigmund Freud's theory of the unconscious mind. Their debut song is amazing it is called "RING X RING", i highly suggest the bsides of their first album, they truly have some experimental sounds to offer to the industry and a very very interesting lore behind the lyrics cause it kinda tells the mystery of a missing child. especially the first mv they released. you can find on the lyrics quotes like "is she dead, dead?" The reason why BlackPink was able to break all those records and become this internationally popular was because girl groups before them opened K-pop to foreign markets, and Girls' Generation was one of the biggest contributors to that. During their peak GG's popularity was such that for 3-5 years straight they were far ahead in popularity than all other K-pop groups, including huge boy groups like Big Bang, and were called the insurmountable wall of K-pop. I think You would like Mamamoo. They are not as big as Blackpink or Twice, but they are very respected in Korea and in the industry. They do different genres, good quality songs, good, well written lyrics.... They really are the best vocal girl group right now and they have one of the most credited rapper as well. Their live performances are breathtaking, especially the vocal-focused ones. And they are just different, they have their own style and it's really not similar to any other kpop group. Dreamcatcher are my absolute fave group and they're pretty underrated, Scream is lowkey my fave kpop song ever! They do a lot of rock inspired music and have a horror/sci-fi/fantasy concept. Also do love Twice, they're popular for a reason

there is in fact a group with over 20 members ! they are called "NCT". currently there is 23 members ! NCT are separated into units like : NCT U, NCT 127, NCT DREAM, and then their Chinese subunit called WAYV. Their newest comeback is Tomboy which you've seen in the video (02 in 2022) and has more of a rock sound.
I would also recommend their songs Lion, Oh My God, Hwaa and Hann (Alone). They all have a dope rap. For a more hip hop style you should check out Uh-Oh or My Bag where all of the members rap.

You would totally love Mamamoo and their solo work especially. They write their own music, lyrics, do composing, and basically built their company up. Mamamoo songs like "HIP", "Aya", "Where are we now", "Decalcomanie", "My Star", "4x4ever" are amazing, but since you like more rockish sounding music, I recommend Mamamoo Moonbyul's solo work like "Eclipse". They try every style: rock, rap, electric sway, so much RnB, ballad, jazz, dance music, arabic, joke songs. Their juniors are Purple Kiss, i recommend "My heart skip a beat", "Zombie", "Skip Skip". and Itzy's song voltage is also great. I listen to an insane number of girl groups so I have to stop here or else I will just continue.

omg billlie is a CRAZY group. they debuted last year with "ring x ring" and i think they really bring something different and special to kpop. i'd definitely recommend their two recent title tracks, "ring x ring" and "gingamingayo" which you heard during the 2022 section.

YG Artists Characteristics are: charisma, swag, great rappers (they have the best rappers in kpop industry), unique voices, great live performances, and release few songs prioritizing quality over quantity. In fact their middle name are swag and charisma.
Among the biggest labels in Kpop, BLACKPINK's company (YG ENTERTAINMENT) doesn't skimp out on the budget for all their artists' videos. YG ENTERTAINMENT by the way is the biggest label in Kpop and in South Korea known for their hip-hop roots. Hip-hop is YG's signiture, that's why artists like BLACKPINK has such very good charisma in live performances and especially in rap. Of course they pay attention to vocals and dance too but rap is where they specialize in and YG artists' stage presence are insane!! Among the big label in KPOP, YGE is known for spending the most on their astists' videos. KPOP who worked in K-industry were interviewed unanimously mentioned how YG does not play around their videos and spend maybe too much (for some people) on their artists' outfits.
This is especially true for BLACKPINK. BLACKPINK music videos are known for NOT using CGI and green screen at all (the only one known is one of their debut tracts "WHISTLE"). They'd rather build multiple physical sets and use practical effects (if you're interested, they have the behind the scenes of every music video they did. They named them "Making Film", it's on their youtube channel. Just search up the music video + making film).
YG ENTERTAINMENT (their label) really said: Music video? Nah. If we didn't spend at least 10M USD it aint a legit a music video. Let's just call it a perfromance instead.

GIDLE is the best, selfproduce almost all of their song. The leader Soyeon is the one who produce all of their song...plus Yuqi and Minnie also have produced some of their song and heres Miyeon learning...there will be one day all of GIDLE member is the producer and people will scared when talk about self produce.
Mamamoo may not have alot of views like other groups but their vocals, discography, and stage presence is top notch. They are not kpop idols, they are artists who are highly respected by senior artists as well as netizens.
That's not to say other groups are untalented or not any good, because they are good. It's just that mv views, or amount of albums sold does not mean they are the best. Focus on the vocals, performance, and lyrics instead of popularity.

Really hope you can check out Mamamoo! They were the first group under their small company and built them up. They're absolute vocal queens! I recommend watching Mamamoo's Dingo Killing Voice Live Medley their songs HIP, Egotistic, Starry Night, Decalcomanie and Yes I Am and so much more. Their MVs may not have made the cut for the years they started to blow up internationally in 2018 onwards!
2NE1 is the first girl group YG ENTERTAINMENT and BLACKPINK is the second. Both are Legendary Queens of K-POP.
