Blacklight pops would get hype back if they actually felt special and didn’t appear all the time. At this point, Blacklight is just as common as glow in the dark
That's true, they are pretty common unfortunately
Blacklight and GITD pops are my favorites and are the reason I seriously started collecting pops. They're so cool and very fun to display but I agree, they need to cut down on some of the Blacklight/GITD pops. They should feel special and not repetitive
We still love our black light Pops and Sodas and will definitely be getting that Stranger Things 2 pack and the new Eddie that’s coming out soon!! We know we are the minority on who isn’t burnt out with them and with that said we will probably wait to get these black lights cause it’s more than likely they will get discounted at some point and that’s when we will get them!!

As someone who started collecting Funko Pops in February of last year, thanks so much for the Funko blacklight history in this video!
I’m not a fan of blacklight, I rather collect GITD pops (love them!!) so I did get my hands on the ATSV Spot GITD/blacklight variant Pop when it came out at Target 🕳️😁.
Blacklight pops have lost their luster But I wish they would make a Predator and Ghost Face blacklight
The horror blacklight pops do look great and so would those two characters
I think it's subjective, I think everyone's gonna have a different opinion depending on their collection.
I, for example, have dwindled down my overall funko collection a lot in the last two years.
I only collect four or five lines at this point, and typically, if the mold of a certain pop, soda, etc, is unique enough, I'll grab it and add it to the collection.
I'm trying to be 100% percent complete on my Stranger Things collection so, no matter how many different variations of Eddie funko makes, I'm probably going to try and be out there hunting for it.
Moral of the story and my point being...
Collect what you like!!

I like the way Blacklight pops light up. I think the decline in Marvel BL Pops was cemented when the Drax t-shirt wasn't also blacklight. It was emblematic of how little thought was being put into them at that point.
Great video, I have not purchased any black light pops, but have pulled a few in mystery boxes. I believe that Scary Terry from Rick and Morty started the black light train in 2017 then in 2018 they came out with blacklight Five Nights at Freddy's pops
When the first blacklight pops came out they were so cool. I believe they just over did the blacklight idea. Over, and over and over not making it so special anymore. I’m kind of burnt out on them at this point. But who knows what the future holds🤪
I would say no dobe with blacklight and sodas I think no piece count is killing sodas but great video

I sold a few of our Blacklights but we kept all 3 of those characters 🤷🏻

Still waiting on ghostface black light or anything horror classic. They would blow up.
It was a wave that definitely started out strong, I only have 2 myself. There are some great pieces and some questionable pieces, the power rangers being 1 they missed the mark with those chases. It seems rare we get a way of pops without at least 1 black light variant added so it wouldn’t be harmful to dial them back.
Is there a Blacklight Freddy Funko yet John? If not I bet they make one soon.

We are not big blacklight fans I think because they are usually just the same mold of a pop or Soda we already have. I think if we had a display with them all together we would like them more. I'm sure we will try to pick up these Stranger Things blacklights but because they are Stranger things. I agree they should all glow too. Awesome video!

The black lights seem to shelf warm around me. Most my displayed pops are black lights that I got on clearance. I paid less than $5 for the rides black light Valkyrie
Great vid as always! Blacklight really should only be used where it makes sense. There are Blacklight Pops where the color scheme actually ruins the aesthetic of the Pop.
Case in point are those Blacklight Chases in the Power Rangers cooler.
Many Blacklight variant’s of Marvel Pops make no sense for the Hero they are used for.
BL and Funkos of the freaky, creature, and/or monster nature are the ones I personally go for. I wish they release more Universal Monsters with the treatment - they only did this for Frankenstein. Next would be Marvel Zombies, which I heard there is supposedly a 4 pack on the horizon.
I like some of them but there's too many...there's some things I wish they would and should have added glow too...also i have a few blacklight pops but a lot of them dropped to like less than $12
The only blacklight I bought was the marvel sentinel chase because I never see chases for retail were I live so it's special to me.
I really enjoy the blacklight Funko Pops! However, I could see why people are pulling away from it due to the overall oversaturation of it.

They’re definitely not as special as they used to be! Hopefully the hype returns down the road
Hype is over for sure. Like Funko beat to death Chrome pops. They beat the death out of blacklight harder than they did with chrome. Only two black light pops I eventually want to still get is Carnage and Spider-Man.
They definitely made a lot more Blacklight than chrome. Chrome seems rare now 😂
