I still dont get why even Dana seems to be hesitant to call Stipe the greatest heavy weight of all time. Not knocking this interview and maybe White does think that, but yeah/ Stipe went through an awesome war with Dos Santos and lost, then beat him by knockout their second time around. He also knocked out Hunt, Arlofski, Werdum and Overeem. He lost the title and won it back via knockout when he was down on the cards and getting completely whooped by one of the greatest fighters (in my opinion) ever in Cormier. Stipe is not only terrifying, he's also just a really good guy. Give him more credit. Dude deserves it.

I think Dana neglects Stipe for not being the outward personality and larger than life figure he wants in a top star. He's just this badass dude who runs through people. He smashed Francis, who Dana obviously has big plans for. He smashed DC and potentially ruined the chances of that third Jones fight, which will cost Dana a lot. Stipe is hard to market as he's a very private guy who isn't exactly the most eloquent when it comes to interviews. I imagine he also dislikes Stipe's reluctance to play ball with the political side of things, he just wants to fight and get paid, that clashes with Dana's businessman ideals.

Scott 300 I like the matchup.. any matchup with a guy who wants to stand and fight and not wrestle and control position is a decent matchup for them. Sure it’s a tough fight, that’s why he wants it though. I love the move cause it is building up other stars and making Conor irrelevant especially with his out of the cave antics. There’s also the point that by ignoring Conor and calling out other guys and increasing his own stardom it’ll probably get McGregor to come back to the table and ask for the trilogy to stay relevant. And if that happens then that’s another big pay day for Nate. But he’s making money outside of fighting now so Nate has the luxury of taking fights that he wants as a martial artist and that the fans will get very hyped for. I thought Pettis was a bad matchup for Nate honestly.. I wasn’t sure he would be able to win a 3 round fight against him and even as a fan who knows how good he is I was impressed. I truly think he’s just entering his prime and getting better every day. But for sure yes, it’s a dangerous fight. That’s how it should be.

It's pretty clear Dana wanted DC to win, I was also rooting for DC. It's unfortunate he just didn't adapt to those several body shots.
He could have won by just wrestling him and checking those body shots. I felt he was underestimating Stipe by walking with his hands down.
Would have been great to retire after this fight had he won but now if he retires everyone will just remember how he retired after a loss. Not sure what he will do now but I'm not looking forward to any trilogy fight with Stipe or Jones. I guess Khatib was right when he said he should have retired back in March.

But I guess I yelled loud enough that he finally heard me and put it into action;) . One heck of a fight. That was probably the best UFC fight night I can recall. Every fight was great to watch !!!

Nobody, in any MMA fight in my memory....and I've seen hundreds and hundreds of MMA fights...has ever turned on the body blows like Miocic did on Cormier. That was really out of left field, and he DUG into them with fluidity and frequency. It's interesting because with styles like Khabib and Usman's it eventually becomes their opponent just holding on for dear life due to how rough and grindy that style is. Honestly I think a lot of people would rather be in there with a Diaz or a masvidal over a Khabib or Usman, not fun to get put through all that.

@@titaniumwolf2 Yeah I can get that but I definitely don't think the opposing fighter is worried about the fight being boring with a dude like Khabib or Usman on them. These types of fighters really suck the heart and soul out of their opponents in those 3-5 rounds and it's some really interesting stuff if fans are willing to understand how skilled a fighter must be to turn champions into boys on the ground. My suggestions for a fighter or a fan who doesn't like that grindy style is to either pray your defense/standup game is on point or take your chances when the fight ends up on the feet.

@@antaidavis8839 It was very clear in the Poirier fight that Max is too small for the division. He'd do well with his skillset, but he'll have no real shot against Khabib, Tony, Cowboy, Poirier, Gaethje etc. who are all just too big.
