I’ve had one for months and it is excellent.
I remember the Kickstarter video of this from about 7yrs ago.... LoL
nice review matey, great little B roll camera!
Thanks mate! Yeah great for B Roll!
Just what I need, but the prices are going up, I'll wait for a used one on ebay...great review Andy.
Great review a good little drone for like you said taking close up shots. I think the price will put a lot of people off but the price has all to do with development of the product no what the parts cost. They have to get back all the cost of paying all the software engineers who would have spent months developing this. The image quality as it followed you around the garden around those bushes was quite incredible really.
It's good that someone understands this!
I have a regular DJI Osmo Pocket 3 camera.
It shoots much better, but weighs 176 grams, which is 50 heavier and does not FLY.
So the engineers accomplished a real feat.
I'm especially pleased with how the camera tracks. Not even DJI can do that.
Good review Andy
I like your neighborhood Andy - green suburbia.
Well, council estate :D
£420!! 😳 Holy Sheeshkeebabs! I thought it would be £19.99 or something. In any case, I enjoyed the review and hope you do many more. If you can produce “honest” critical reviews on products like these, I think you’ll do well. 😊
Do you know analogues that are cheaper?
No?!
Then why did you write this?
@bzdishekzapadlovsky Oh look, you again! Clearly you work for this company, you're constantly shutting down EVERYONE who even slightly criticises the price of this thing despite excellent reasons to do so. Go and troll somewhere else!!
@@jorisbonson386
What is the point of fantasies about prices?
There are no alternatives, so everything is simple; whether you buy it or not.
I bought it and am happy. Drone doesn't suit me
@@Steal_ex What do want, a medal? 😅
@@jorisbonson386
I have an impossible mission to make you think
I would be intrested to see how fast it will go. I have a boat and want to know if it can keep up with it. 30mph.
15mph max.
It cannot fly over water, as it is guided by the lower video camera. And the surface of the water cannot provide her with the necessary information.
@@Steal_ex good to know. 👍
Lol no mate
@@Steal_ex yet another reason it's simply not worth the asking price...
Didn't we have something like this come out about 10 years ago? I'm getting Deja-Vu vibes looking at this drone :)
Their previous model was called "Hover passport"
@@Steal_ex Ah yes!
@@EdEditz ,
And I'm very glad that they updated.
This is really what I wanted.
1. Propellers are protected.
2. Fits in your pocket
3. No additional equipment or accessories needed
4. Very short start time
@@Steal_ex Yes it's a great little drone to have with you.
if you are going to ever sell your 10kw electric dirt bike please give me a message
Needs to be half the price though - the firmware really isn't worth as much as they're charging...
We have bad weather today, it's raining. Would you like to cry about this?
@@Steal_ex That doesn't bother me at all, but it seems you're certainly whining about it! 😅
@@jorisbonson386
I offered you a worthy reason to cry.
But if you don’t like it, you can go to the funeral of a stranger and even make a speech about how dear he was to you
way to much money for it. Cool drone though, these kind of features are amazing, to set up fast and be done quickly. But this isnt it.
Do you know analogues that are cheaper?
No?!
Then why did you write this?
@@Steal_ex dude that drone cost 450 euro. You have alot of Dji's with alot more functions and WAAAY better quality, for cheaper.
@@jbholland1987
Dude, I asked for an analogue, not your stream of consciousness.
I like DJI drones, but they are not analogous because
1. None will fit in your pocket.
The weight of the set and the size are 4 times larger. This is no longer acceptable. But let's move on.
2. The blades are not protected. So I won't use it as I want. I will only think about the damage that a DJI drone can cause. This is absolutely unacceptable!
3. DJI's start time is huge, the difference is almost 10 times.
For me, this means that preparing the drone for the excursion will take longer than the episode being filmed.
For example, I need to shoot 30 seconds. But I will prepare and put away the DJI drone for 5 minutes. This is unacceptable !
4. The price for a DJI drone is not finite! A large number of accessories are also required, but which are not needed at all by Hover.
And the most important thing! Dude, I don't see any DJI drone videos on your channel. Do you have the right to talk about this?
@@Steal_exYou AGAIN. Change the record, you're not doing your company any favours with these antagonistic posts
@@jorisbonson386
I don't care about the company that makes the Hover X1. But I would like people to at least sometimes turn on their brains and understand that you shouldn't compare it to drones. It's a flying camera that sacrifices drone functions for the sake of ease of use.
Its got some neat tricks but since its maximum range is by WiFi....range is limited to about 20 feet....£400..?...I dont think so....🤔😳😏🇬🇧
It's strange that you didn't understand that the trick of this flying camera is that it doesn't need to be controlled.
And your requirement to control via WiFi is ridiculous
@@Steal_ex No, you don't understand. This toy will never be more than 40 feet away from you...Okay for selfies, but useless for filming anything of any worth ....You can go now...🤔😏😏😏🇬🇧
@@EnglishTurbines ,
I have this camera.
And with her help, I filmed what I couldn’t with other cameras and drones:
Thanks to;
1. Very small size.
2. Very quick start
3. Protected blades.
4. General ease of operation.
Sorry, but I won’t be able to join your walk. This is your way)
@@Steal_ex It's not our fault you can't handle a real cinematic drone.....Get over it...🤔😳😏🇬🇧
@@EnglishTurbines
I don’t see cinematic videos on your channel. You don't even know anything about 4K.
And you’re probably right, they don’t like drones in our country. We need to fill out a bunch of paperwork, including permission for a specific flight.
I think the same thing would happen in other countries where I could go with him, and maybe even problems with registration at customs.
And yes, you’re right, I don’t want to spend 2 minutes preparing the drone to shoot a 30-second video, then take another 2 minutes to put it back.
You are definitely right, because I don’t want to carry a bag with drone equipment.
Somehow you know that I don’t want the open drone blades to damage a tourist like me.
You are a visionary, you know that on an excursion I don’t want to be distracted by controlling the drone and preparing it.
Therefore, I bought, use and am very pleased with the Hover X1, which is devoid of all these shortcomings.
I have come to terms with the fact that the Hover X1 is exactly the flying camera I need, not a drone
