      I’m very distressed about the situation in the world right now. I’m overwhelmed with people’s lack concern for the loss we have. I’m literally sick because I can’t explain to anyone all I understand. Case in point: a show on tv called gold rush. They’re decimating the earth, ruining rivers and leaving this, this as a legacy to?? For something that they can’t even take to their grave. Seriously I can’t deal with this stupidity. I think I’m INFP, so that’s why I’m overwrought because I do know and see how this ends.

I hate being late, to appointments and the like, but often am, due to minor anxieties - - not to an OCD level, but in that direction... double checking that I turned off the coffee pot, etc.

    I am firmly entrenched in INFJ. I took the test over 30 years ago and learned my type - and I wasn't surprised. It answered a lot of questions I'd had about why people responded to me the way that they did. I have a lot of respect for individual differences - partly out of empathy because remembered what it was like to not have my own respected while growing up. But the INFP takes it to an even greater extent than I do (which I didn't think was possible). This has been valuable to me - I have some INFP tendencies (brought out in the video) but not to the true INFP extent.

      A fellow INFP? If so then you’re part of the 4.4%% of global MB types globally (for sources - do your own web searches Meyers-Briggs personality types. My web searches find results from 3%-5% on this. But I agree, when so many around us have different approaches, it is good to find others sometimes. However, if you are INFJ then you’re the smallest group of any MB type (about 1.2% globally). Plus, INFJs are probably more in need of finding others in their group than anyone else. But, whatever, this was an interesting video.

    • @astralmindny9055
      @astralmindny9055 6 лет назад

      Adelle Ramcharan if your INFP chances are your a good person, and being such a good person, you know EXACTLY how cruel and harsh this world can be. I don't think I was built for this world, and although there are a few good days, I really can't wait until I transcend this plane of existence. It's not a cry for help, but rather a " eewww..... You can have this world" type of mentality. I think I've mastered this world already, and to be honest, it wasn't that hard. I'd say the easiest part of mastering the world was being able to see right through ppl. Ppl aren't as aware of their non-verbal communication as I'd thought they would be. They also don't understand how much info they give away when they are looking up right, up left, down right, and down left when they talk to you. The second easiest part was figuring out how to balance making a decent amount of money, while feeling completely safe and comfortable at work. I gave up making more money in return for a more" favorable" working environment. When there we're a ppl I didn't like (you have to be a total jerk if I don't like you), I'd just get rid of them by shifting my perception. Basically using the Secret; the law of attraction, but I do it a bit differently. Instead of using thought first, I act first, then send affirmations, than that sighs promote a clearer mind so manifestation was easier. I'd walk into work and automatically act "as if" this particular person wasn't there. Now the hardest part of life is figuring out if there's actually a " Religious God." What I mean by that is if there is a God that still punish you if you don't/didn't believe in it as the source. I say " it as a source" because I perceive God as the harmonious spirit of the universe. My parent(s) are Christians, so I believe their God is the God of free will, correct? I know a lot of church ppl who got saved and they walk around with wretched souls, and they strut their shit like they're better than us; like they should be praised because they literally read, and keep reading the same book over and over again. Yeaaaahhhhh... You've read one book your entire life and now your better than me? Huh..... Wouldn't die for anyone, wouldn't give someone their last, and wouldn't give up their happiness for someone else, but they get to go to heaven? That's why this is the hardest part of life to master, because I think about that more than I think about anything else. I'm a good person, but if you don't acknowledge a creator, are you doomed to an eternal hell? That would suck. Basically, That's implying" your doing the right thing, but just throw me a few praises and we're all square." Can't imagine God being that emotional, that's the INFP's job!!

    • @patrickmurray2662
      @patrickmurray2662 6 лет назад +1

      Hey, so coming strictly from a place of trying to give a different perspective on how to make sense of what you referred to as one of the hardest parts of life, I'll take a crack at giving it context that I think is more universally logical.
      First, I think that viewing a Christian God as "punishing" people for not believing in It, is something that people should re-evaluate. Assuming God is the source, and Heaven is harmony with God, and God gives humanity free will, then God isn't punishing; God is in a perpetual state allowing parts of itself to reject their source while encouraging the rest to grow and reunite with the source harmoniously. Jesus emphasized (more than almost anything) the importance of "deeds" to God rather than merely affirming belief verbally then attempting to behave in contradiction to the spirit of harmony with the source. Free will is the ability to sincerely accept or reject the creator through the sincerity of actions as opposed to simply flattering creation without choosing through deliberate means to become one with it.
      Reading as much as possible about the parable of "the Good Samaritan" will usually answer a lot of questions about the importance of actions and the basic theme of Christianity. That parable basically suggests, among other things, that somebody considered "Godless" who behaves in a truly sincere way that honors God by embodying love and charity for fellow humans with no ulterior motives is closer to God than a priest who is motivated by fear or greed in their "praise of God".
      The thing I believe is important to consider, is that God doesn't "punish" nor accept flattery alone, as proof of one's intentions. What people view as punishment, is really just a choice to remove oneself from the rest of the source of life. The alternative place to heaven is a place devoid of the creator, by its very nature. I see no way of God reconciling the necessity for freedom to reject the creator with God retaining dominion over the internal operations of Hell, the place where those who would like to be without God may retire.
      Many of the "rules" associated with people going to Hell are easily tied to the concept of accepting/rejecting God with actions. Suicide is considered such a grave sin by the Catholic Church because rejecting the life you were given by God is a loud statement about how little the person wants to be one with creation. God isn't "mad" in this case, but rather not forcing humanity to accept a place together with God. In this specific case, it's worth noting that the Church has multiple caveats regarding suicide that account for state of mind, awareness of God, duress, and then ultimately acknowledge that God still knows what was in "the heart" of that person and whether or not the intention was to reject Life.
      Anyway, I hope that helps to contextualize things in a way that isn't easily extracted from people who read that "little book" more than they attempt to comprehend it. Ultimately, it is a personal journey and subjective experience that isn't worth having if it does not challenge people into attempting to truly understand the nature of reality.

    Though I’m pretty sure I’m an INFP, I do feel like looking at the world from above. Rather, I feel like that because I see differences between individuals and a very clear picture of all the details of stuff. The invisible wall that contains my values does exist, but it doesn’t blind me from seeing what’s outside, rather it just changes the way I react to things, so the depiction isn’t very accurate.

    • @amyloves_snsd
      @amyloves_snsd 4 года назад +1

      @@Tashoodle Ah, that makes sense. So I guess the point of the illustration is that INFPs see the world under a personal filter of values (judging dominant), while INFJs simply observe and take in the world as it originally is (perceiving dominant). Thanks for your explanation!

    • @amyloves_snsd
      @amyloves_snsd 4 года назад

      @@Tashoodle It appears that INFP and INFJ share a lot of surface traits, to the point it's very hard to distinguish them. I think one reason why INFPs often mistype themselves as INFJs but not the other way around, is because INFJ's Ni is very difficult to truly understand unless the person really has it. An INFJ would know exactly what the Ni descriptions are talking about, at a very personal level, while the INFP would be like "that sounds like me" but barely scratching the surface of Ni. In fact, I didn't know what Ni truly meant, until I knew my INTJ boyfriend, and that was when I realized how different it was with my Ne.

    • @amyloves_snsd
      @amyloves_snsd 4 года назад

      @@Tashoodle One of my funny observations is that Ni users tend to get frustrated at Ne users for not answering questions with one answer and Ne users tend to think Ni users are close-minded. Because Ni is always trying to converge into a single idea, conclusion, option, or some intrinsic meaning of things, while Ne is always trying to expand out to possibilities and open-endedness, these two don't go well in philosophical conversations. They literally play tug-o-war and end up being confused at each other, or even annoyed at each other for going the complete opposite direction of their original intent.

    • @amyloves_snsd
      @amyloves_snsd 4 года назад

      @@Tashoodle Actually I have the same type of relationship dynamic with my boyfriend as you and your friend. Since we approach topics differently, we get to learn about each other's perspectives and compliment each other. What I described about the disharmony above only happens in short term when the two types aren't used to each other's way of thinking. But once a deeper relationship is established, it definitely becomes very nourishing and fruitful for both parties. And just like you, I really enjoy talking to the INTJ, because they have so many visions and thoughts that are very awe-spiring to me :)

    While I do believe that CelebrityTypes is the best and least biased source for typology on the internet, I can't help but notice what I feel is a SMALL bias against INFPs. INFPs are, in my opinion, painted as self-centered and unable (or at least unwilling) to use logic. I suppose to sum it up, they're portrayed using what I consider to be the more negative Kierkegaardian stereotypes (i.e. "the subjective is more real than anything else", "militant opponents of reason"). I also couldn't help but notice that in the "All Types at a Glance" section of the site, INFPs were one of the only types for whom the negative trait seemed to be definite (for many of the types, it was "may look old fashioned" or "tend to find self-expersion difficult"). I also noticed that they were one of what I believe were only two "N" types who weren't described as intellectual, although, in all fairness, I doubt that many people look down upon the intellect of the other type that didn't have an intellectual side directly referenced, ENTJs. Again, I'm not deeply offended, but as an INFP I'm interested in hearing if CelebrityTypes believes that INFPs are capable of doing anything not commonly associated with their type (e.g. be the CEO of a Fortune 500 company, which I realize is quite a stretch for an Fi dominant type, but not impossible in my opinion). Thank you so much.

      Thanks for nice words.
      I (Ryan) can see where you're coming from on this. However, the principal author of this piece (Boye) actually identifies as INFP. Maybe he's double agent? :-o
      I think, though, that if you see how the J/Rational functions are defined by Jung and Myers, it seems to me that the most self-evidently valuable function would be Te>Te>Fe>Fi. Myers was a very smart INFP and even she had trouble bringing the self-evidently valuable qualifies of Fi. In fact, she resorted to Kantian language, associating Fi with the "moral law." I don't know about you, but Kant and Fi seems off to me.
      That's not to say Fi doesn't have a value, just that in can be harder to detect by conventional standards that the other J/Rational functions. It's value does indeed seem to be given subjectively and, by proxy, artistically.
      As for your question, our extended content has some examples of some high-profile INFPs in politics. There may be some big shot INFP CEOs out there, but they are not the norm and we haven't found them. That said, we certainly don't think it's a priori impossible.

I thought myself digging into other people’s perspectives and unique personhood was actually Fe (cause of being other people focused) but I do this to tease out who I am and who they are, what type of person they are, their very soul; I definitely see everyone as their own person and not a holistic manifestation of the universe. Idk they say you cant be both but i relate to both in many ways?? Perhaps more infj leaning but that doesnt mean i dont understand marginalization and individualism. Perhaps its bc i have taken the time to learn about those things though. I dont think ppl can be boxed in, ever. So saying you cant be both because of "cognitive functions" doesnt seem logical...?

    • @ivoryrose4599
      @ivoryrose4599 6 лет назад +2

      Kelly Lyons You might be an INFP because this type tends to waffle between choices and doesn't like being put in a box. I recommend researching the difference between the secondary cognitive functions of Ne and Fe as well as the inferior functions Te and Se. Remember that tests and videos like this will only list generalities and tendencies which obviously won't apply to everyone in one type. It's better to look at the underlying trends and personality toolboxes than looking at common behaviors and stereotypes. :)

    • @whysguy3
      @whysguy3 6 лет назад +2

      I can place aspects of people l know in more than one box. I'm beginning to think the whole personality type thing is was simply created to pigeonhole people to make diagnosis easier.

    • @Nowhy
      @Nowhy 6 лет назад +1

      Why be one type when you can be all types? For example, shouldn't everybody be able to "be" like an INFJ or INFP? Sure they are the hardest to "get", but who wants it easy? Children want it easy, sure, but what about "beings" that don't just want what "feels" good or what seems as immediate true (and which, in the next moment, is false)...
      I cannot see it as possible that mature, developed human "beings" to not "be" any type "they" seem fit. If someone thinks that all or even most adults are mature, well think again - or better just look what is happening in the sensible world.
      Sure, then the "problem" arisen of how to be free of psychology altogether... And with that the problem of reason in an chaotic world, where no rule is always true (there is always an exception).

    • @Nowhy
      @Nowhy 6 лет назад +1

      @@whysguy3 you are on the right track. Those humans just don't want to be defined! I guess this is something people will never understand - I mean, how should they when they follow what they follow.. It's always the same and has, like, become a fetish in "self"-destruction. Must be fun, I don't get it thou.. It is just like with that song and video by Radiohead - Just - - I should say, that I am fine with not getting it.

      MBTI types are a generalization or your core personality drive. You're probably going to act differently than people may think your type would act because you also have a mind and a lifetime of experience in the world which changes your views and behavior. Your MBTI type merely affects how you deal with and react to those experiences and what you think about them.

    If you think we are all connected you are an INFJ, whilst if you think you are a unique individual you are an INFP. If you believe in the predominance of nature over nurture you are an INFJ, but if you believe in the predominance of nurture over nature you are an INFP . If you believe that sociology determines psychology you are an INFJ, however if you see that psychology determines sociology you are an INFP. I see it as just a matter of weighing up which perspective you favour more, though both are the two sides of the coin. Hope that helps.

      If you see the world as consisting of paradox and contradiction ... and that is part of our human condition (that you enjoy) you are probably an INFJ. If you tend to dislike paradox and contradiction you are probably any of the other 15 types. That is why the INFJ's are so unique and poorly understood.

  • @helenarosno

    Now I’m even more confused than before. I relate to every aspect of the INFJ personality type, but I also relate to a lot of the INFP personality type. I’m always looking at the bigger picture, but sometimes analyze the details and grey areas of the world before going back to the big picture.

    • @criticaloptimist7961
      @criticaloptimist7961 6 лет назад

      Helena Rosno I think the grey areas are the big picture. It's limiting cognition to details is something INFJ'S don't do. In fact infj's often overlook details not because they can't see them but because they refuse to recognise some of them as relevant in their broader mindset. And this is not something we do consciously but subconsciously. I just had a conversation with my wife about this. I for some reason didn't remember something she told me a few minutes prior that I acknowledged hearing at the time. I understand how aggravating that must be for her but I explained to her that my mind decided to not commit said information to memory because it didn't register as relevant information and that I'm not at fault for it because my mind subconsciously discounted it before my conscious mind could assimilate it appropriately into my short term memory.

    No, if you can't tell them apart It's because your overall idea of what one of them or both of the are is way wrong. INFJ and INFP are not similar at all and the difference is not just in the details. I think the biggest misconception is that INFJs are feelers. That's incorrect. INFJs are primarily Ponderers of reasons, implications, and future possible scenarios/potentials. Second an INFJ is ANALYTICAL and LOGICAL as Ti is in the same attitude as Ni. Third an INFJ is empathetic. Fourth an INFJ will be interested in subjects of the real world and very much concerned with knowing the objective truth as Se in the last position keeps interests in the real world like an ancor is out of sight but keeps a ship in a specific spot in the see。Although all in all possibly a fine exploration excluding the supposed emotional state of the INFJ. Maybe when young an INFJ will be a bit more emotional, but as an adult that will probably be more due to hormones.

    Such a great video, it does boil down to the cognitive functions as it pertains to defining one's own personality type. . I noticed as an infj taking the personality tests is not the only way to know one's own personality type becouse I have a tendency to test infp some days and infj other days. This video does a great job at explaining clearly the cognitive functions and the differences between both personality types.

    Is there a transcription of this depiction available somewhere at CelebrityTypes? For those, who don't speak English as their native language it would be very useful and make it easier to understand. The description of INFJ and INFP here is accurate and very clear, but the sentences which were used to describe the complex functioning of cognition would be much easier to understand when one can read them as well. It can be complicated to understand the whole entity of this information, and although one can understand every sentence one by one, it is different to really understand the big picture, thus the transcription would be helpful.

    I could not stop zoning out to this every 30 seconds or so...why is it so difficult to follow? After listening several times and making sure I understood what was even being said, I still have a hard time understanding anything you describe about the INFP... From my understanding, it could be summed up that INFJs are aloof and detach themselves from the world in a sort of cold and haughty way whereas INFPs are so entrenched within their own subjective ideas that they're just delusional. But hey, I'm an INFP, so I guess I'm unable to make sense of your logic.

    I see a lot of right-wing INFPs, myself included. I think this has happened because it's very unpopular to be conservative right now. On the liberal side we have change for its own sake, with the popular narrative supporting it. On the conservative side, we see people who worry about how (in their eyes) things seem to be spinning out of control, and a lot of bullying punishing those who speak against it. If INFPs really want to listen to the unheard ones, they should listen to the conservatives

      That worldview is completely the opposite of mine. As an INFP, I value love, tolerance, compassion and acceptance. Many, though not all right-wing ideologies support moderate to extreme hate, oppression and imbalances of power.
