While I appreciate you trying something different, this really misses the mark for an 80s trailer. Also, I grew up watching the original Star Wars Trilogy on VHS. VHS never looked this bad. My suggestion is to reference movie trailers from the 80s to get a better feel for how they looked and the way they were narrated. As for the VHS look, all you really need is some soft blurring, a little desaturation, horizontal interlacing lines, and some minor tracking distortion. If you really want to take it up a notch, you could add it other effects like a blue screen at the beginning and end with “PLAY” and “STOP or maybe even a part in the middle where the tracking really glitches like that part was replayed more than other parts. One thing that was common during the VHS days is that we would reuse tapes over and over for other recordings. It wouldn’t be surprising to start a tape and see a new recording start in the middle of an older recording.
Yeah, starting with the end of another recoding would be funny and true 😀
Thank you for that feedback! I'll see what I can do for future 80s trailers.
I have one more coming out like this next weekend. After that, I'll look into making the necessary corrections/adjustments.
@pt5films Want to confirm what @DDavEE said an add. Maybe try add the static parts to the beginning an end of video. Like the tape is trying to start up an end. Good job for doing something new! 👏:)
@@pt5films80s trailers - its all that "In a world.." guy
Yoda's 2 mouths are horrifying.
I have to agree with you there 😂
I know wtf lol. The main mouth wasn't good enough. Needed that little extra one on the chin to talk.
That funny way of talking, now you know why he has.
Kinda scary how much Anakin looks like Alden Ehrenreich here (guy who played Han Solo in Solo 2018 movie)
I can see that!
Hit the tracking! 😅 Maybe get a head cleaner kit?!
Appreciate the feedback! 😂
Big Yoda is scary
Lol!
Bro.... We had clear picture in the 80s you know....Just because VHS was the format...doesnt mean it was distored and flickery..... Do you honestly think we sat around and watched movies we could barely see? Sure.. if you taped a movie or tv show off the tv somwtimes theyd be mild distortion...also depending on the age of the time. But studio films.... they looked amazing at the time.
What a stupid comment. What are YOU doing likenthis or anything? Nothing.
Thanks for the feedback
This looks like Star Wars from the 80's if someone hadn't watched Star Wars. 😆
Appreciate the feedback!
They really were not that bad .
🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
1:00 Anakin Skywalker vs Anakin Skywalker )
"It's always been a battle against himself..." *cue dramatic music*
And now the 1930's slapstik version with simpsons on Star Trek
Great work.
Thank you! Cheers!
@@pt5films Ok. BTW my channel has mocked videos like yours.
What do you mean great work, he typed a prompt into AI
The 1950s Panavision channel is the best at doing this, unfortunately your attempt doesn’t add anything to this type of presentation.
They're fantastic at what they do. I'm trying to improve with each one!
@@pt5films Love what you do. You are the only one, for example, who can have somebody blink their eyes without looking as if they'd joined the undead!
They need to clean the VCR heads.
😂😂
Felicitarte por el esfuerzo, pero así no se veían las peliculas en VHS....
Fair enough
its highly unlikely a black actor would be cast as MACE WINDU in the 1950's it was just a different time
...I think Eddie "Rochester" Anderson would have been great as Mace Windu.
Appreciate the feedback!
the vo doesn't really add anything.
Still learning!
@@pt5films absolutely. try everything
God this is so good 😂
No way Lucas would ever have music like that in a Star Wars movie.
He had a bigger budget 😂
He would if he didn’t have the budget for an orchestra.
This voice is ok but sounds better suited for trailers shown to theater owners, maybe get someone to sound more like Don LaFontaine who was the deep baritone king of movie trailers in the 80's and 90's.
Appreciate the feedback!
Is this voiced by Retroblasting?
I used Eleven Labs
This guy used ai
That is correct
The Empire started using storm troopers after the clone wars
You’re absolutely correct.
Wow this movie should have been a 80s movie 🍿 well done 👍🏻, if I see my first movie Last Kung Fu Monk as one of your 80s vhs trailers I will celebrate like new year came early 😊
Too much of the VHS tape effect.
Appreciate the feedback!
Why are there storm troopers in this video
Great catch! Misstep on my part.
"...where shadows loom large, and hope flickers dimly... " Excuse me for asking, but wasn't Flickers Dimly a character in a Harry Potter movie?
Hahah!
So damn cool and yeah looks like I’m watching old VHS videos lol.
I appreciate that!!
What videos were you watching? 😂
@@pferreira1983 old VHS videos
@@CoCotheTurtle They wouldn't look like this. 😂
@@pferreira1983 I used to buy cheap, old Z-List movies on VHS for $1, just to have tapes for recording. They looked just like this.
The script and plot would have been better but the picture quality wouldn’t have had quite so many lines unless someone had pirated it! Which was common at the time to be fair.
Appreciate the feedback!
I had a pirated screener for The Lion King as a kid and the colors on the screen would be off their normal hue. Like watching a trippy version of the movie lol.
If you ever bought a new VHS tape and recorded at the "fast" speed for the best quality, but later went back and taped over it at the "slow" speed, it looked just like this!
The Republic never used storm troopers
You’re absolutely correct.
Did The Democrat?
@@CoCotheTurtle Wut

Fix the darn tracking 😅
