thanks so much man this helps a lot,i had always faced issues with filling the sketchup model for exterior renderings, seems a small thing but it creates a lot of difference in exterior views
I think it would be great if you showed how to load a gray scaled copy of a material into the texture slot when going through the Bumpmap/Displacement map phase (13:58).
Very educative and helpful posts Oliver. I noticed you use a MacBook and you have the VRay extension on it. Please how did you get that? I’ve been searching for it for quite some time. I had to partition my MacBook and work with the windows OS.
It was big mistake that didn't use eye camera for setting scene and not using realistic materials and very important is using using dome light is very important. I've try very hard how could see on my render the reflection of material or objects on the scene thanks for the help on your video
These videos are really well explained and presented and I definitely picked up a few tips - thanks! However all of the final renders we see in the video (and especially on your website) are far from photorealistic so I’m very hesitant to pull the trigger, particularly as I can’t find a list of the individual class topics or examples of the quality of render your students are eventually able to produce. Even the “presentation images” render looks very artificial and ALL of the images in the “Vray on a deadline” look like scenes from those hidden object games: quite cartoony and flat. I’d hoped to find videos of genuinely realistic renders, particularly as you briefly touch on render elements and a few other advanced topics that hint that you know the process fairly well.
In many cases, we are showing images of renderings at a particular step in the process to give a more honest look at what things look like at various stages along the way. But you make a great point: We should certainly do a better job of showing-off the finished product to give you an idea of what's possible. We will do more of that in future videos (and appreciate your feedback). In the courses on our website, we teach students everything they need to know to create genuinely realistic renderings. Again, we show images that represent the works-in-progress (and should do a better job of showcasing what's possible). One note: We are in the middle of updating our courses for V-Ray 5 for SketchUp, so you'll likely see quite a few changes once those updates are published to the site (and we begin adding V-Ray 5 related videos to our channel here). If you'd like to be notified when the V-Ray 5 course updates are ready, send a message to team@sketchupschool.com and we'll add you to the list.
We answered this comment in another video, but here's the answer we posted: There isn't a Corona extension for SketchUp, only a V-Ray for SketchUp extension. So if you're looking to use SketchUp, you're best to go with V-Ray for SketchUp.
We have a full set of courses covering V-Ray for SketchUp in our Video Course Library on our website. You can find out more about the courses here: www.sketchupschool.com/video-course-library
Having a less powerful GPU will not affect the result - it might just make the result take longer to render. I recommend you take a look at our V-Ray for SketchUp rendering course which outlines step-by-step how to get the best rendering results. You can access the course as part of our Video Course Library here: www.sketchupschool.com/video-course-library
Hmm - hard to know what the problem could be without seeing what you are seeing. If you send a message to team@sketchupschool.com along with an image of what you are seeing, perhaps we can help.

It is a setting where you turn off all of the materials (and replace them with a white or similarly dull colored material) so that you can focus on the lighting while not being distracted by all of the texture and reflection of the materials
It looks like you might just be able to run older versions of Lumion at the minimum specifications... but you'll want to double check here to be sure: support.lumion.com/hc/en-us/articles/360036620353-What-are-the-system-requirements-for-Lumion-9-and-older-versions-
You can run lumion if you follow these settings: 1.Always plug charger ,and change Windows power plan to high performance 2.Always work on layers, add lumion trees and other elements on a new layer. You can turn on this layer when needed. 3. Go to settings, - Disable high quality trees and terrain in editor -editor quality ,1 🌟 -Editor resolution 50% or 25%. 4. Hii guys, is there any program that is similar to laubwerk or any other program that can provide tree models in sketchup and vray? Thankss
V-Ray now has the Cosmos library which comes with many trees. I recommend starting with that.
