Huh, not suprised i'd never heard of this one before. There's some sort of melancholic nostalgia I feel for missing out on tie-ins like this. They're pretty much dead nowadays. No magazine promotions, no flash game DLC, nothing... (not that I know of) very sad.

@@pian-0g445 Yeah I guess that’s true. I remember it being heavily marketed so you could collect cars and transfer them to your garage on GT5. Kinda funny you mention that they shouldn’t have done any super large tracks for it, they managed to get the entire Nurburgring on that little thing lmao
Great vid! I thought I already knew everything there is to know about GT but I had no idea such a obscure flash game existed! This kind of long forgotten promotional tie ins are super fascinating to me
Quick 7 months, welcome back! Honestly love how you focus on the way more obscure side of the racing game genre, I hope you find more as these videos genuinely interest me in a fascinating way. I loved GTPSP and loved GT5, so this hits home nicely.
I've been a fan of GT my whole life (and the PSP game is one of my most played), but I've never heard of this before. Really good job with the research and video!
Very good video, I never knew that there were other ways to get the SP models at the time (other than the PS Store having them available and also to a lesser extent, the Japanese pre-order, since I own a poster promoting that and both my JP GTPSP games have cards with the codes), and I especially didn't know that there was a stinking flash game used to promote the game at the time in Europe, thanks!
Oh my god... I remember this game! I used to play it with no sound at all because my PC had no sound device connected to it and even then I had a blast... I thought the hand holding the minigames and letting them go was a memory I made up in my mind, I knew I had seen that before and even played it. You've unlocked a core memory I had but didn't recognize, thanks for this video!
honestly that was the era where if a site could play a video it was amazing in the first place and being able to play video for an hour was something big...
Hello, I am a preserver and collector of digital video games, in which I cover Flash Games, I think it is fantastic that you make a video about an SWF video game that is not known by the Gaming community.
RR2 is so peak. A mobile racing game with good physics, an entire singleplayer campaign, a great soundtrack, and LAN and online multiplayer… it seemed impossible then due to hardware limitations, and it seems impossible now due to the unfortunate direction mobile games have gone. Glad to see another person who recognized the music though!
If you have either an unlocked PSP or an emulator, you can also get the SP models for downloading that mega mod thingy whose link is available on its trailer video. No need to reset the save file for what i've experienced

Can you or anyone find the initial D flash game. It came out when the live action film came out. It was playable on the movies official website called drift king or something. Ive never been able to find it since.
Great find thanks for looking. Shame it just hangs on the loading screen. It was a very basic game but I remember the sounds of the cars being pretty good and possibly recorded directly from the movie.
Are you talking about transferring save data? It can't be transferred directly but you can transfer cars over an ad hoc connection between a modded PSP and an emulator
Completely forgot about this until you mentioned about it. Played it over and over until l could get the car. But it was one of those once you completed it, you arnt going back to that site
Interesting! I was not aware of that game at all! Btw I'm working on a 100% free browser-based racing simulator as well and I'd be very happy if you guys check it out later.
Ironic that there's a mini game to identify car sounds considering that for the longest time, GT's engine sounds were vacuum cleaners lol.
I mean, they were some cars with nice engine sounds. But only a few yeah xD
Surprisingly distinct sounding vacuum cleaners at least. You'd have to have played those PS3 games to understand.
Are the engine notes in GT Skills taken from GT PSP? If so, it is the worst minigame ever made
Still sounds bad.

Crazy to see a RUclips video being more comprehensive about the subject than the Gran Turismo wiki. Great work on such a niche topic!

Extra points for using Asphalt Urban GT OST, so underrated. Keep up the great work!
