3:07 - You can't illegally split on the sets of double lines and then not expect cars to illegally cross over them as well. That's hypocrite BS. If you're breaking the rules, you need to expect that others are as well. Since both illegal maneuvers cancel out, that car signaled and changed out of the carpool lane well ahead of the biker. When you're splitting (properly) you do so with the expectation that cars will be changing lanes and you need to be paying attention and looking for signals. This wasn't even close.
3:41 - CA defines lane splitting as riding between TWO rows of stopped or slow-moving vehicles traveling in the same direction. This wasn't lane splitting or filtering. This was illegally passing on the shoulder, and sharing lanes without enough safe space, which are both defined as illegal under the CA lane splitting guidelines. These guys are both morons.
I get the wanting to move up to the front but ridding on that narrow shoulder is stupid, theres hardly enough room to fit the bike on and going slow makes it even harder to follow a single line. Not a very smart thing to do.
California law also says if you hit someone while opening your car door, you are liable.
Two wrongs don't make a right. People need to learn to keep their egos in check.
@lakaiskates8064 If it's deliberate and has malicious intent. But that would need to be proven. And if it was on purpose, then that guy put the entire tow company at risk. It could just as likely be a complete accident. The tow truck did have its strobes and flashers on, maybe they were waiting to get to the cause of the backup and the passenger was going to walk ahead to check out the scene. Without knowing for sure though, I feel like it's just karma.

Trust me when i say this, a simple fall from a bike can cause sever soreness for 2 weeks😅
How about a full month or more? Forgot my disc lock was on and tried to pull out of the garage. The tire slid on the epoxy floor for about a foot, then the tire tucked and down I went. Pulled my hamstring and it still hurts a month later. Now I always put that orange band on the throttle. 😢
@@briangc1972 uuuffff epic fail that MUST have been embarrassing lol. Maybe not as embarrassing as the time I was driving my little ninja 300 at night (first 2 months of riding) and i had to talk to my real estate agent regarding re-financing. I entered the property but couldn't fully see with the tinted visor on my helmet. Next thing I see is a fully linked chain connected on both ends of the steel poles and PUFF , breaking the headlights and front fenders 😑

What's really annoying is car drivers are so dumb they don't realize how much they messed up and how much pain they caused a bike rider and even worse some drivers just don't give a shit and don't learn to drive safer because of their impatience.
ost drivers are sick of putting up bikers' shit. I was under an overpass on Monday and some kid was redlining a Harley. Loud as hell. I asked what is the point, it's obnoxious to everyone. "Too bad, get over it." Then proceeded to machine gun it under the overpass. This whiney ass attitude sets people's teeth on edge. You want to sit outside of your vehicle and be a dick, be prepared that drivers are less inclined to yield to your whims of fancy.

Even though filtering on the right side is not legal filtering, the guy in the truck opened his door with the intent to hit the motorcycle rider. No one tried to exit the cab of the truck and the driver came out arguing that the M/C shouldn't be there "because there is an accident up ahead". That is assault, plain and simple.

As a local of the Tail of the dragon, it's always people overriding. Wrong body position, wrong "lines" , pushing it too hard. These people want to ride fast but don't know how to ride fast.
0:42 yeah, once I was going down a really steep hill on my bike, going really fast, I barely turned, and my steering wheels were going fast as hell. I was able to recover in a couple seconds. Though everyone was safe.

Sorry but I drove tractor trailer flatbed over the road for several years and witnessed many bikers flaunt their size and mobility to disregard traffic laws and common sense putting themselves and others in danger. When they learn to drive their motorcycles responsibly I may develop a little sympathy for them.
The only people they put in danger are themselves. Like honestly between trucks and bikes who do you think causes more deaths for other road users.

I don't really care if I ever get to the "Tail of the Dragon". It looks like everyone just wants to speed and get thru it as fast as they can. There are so many other roads I'd much rather enjoy than that stretch of road.

As a rider I know some of the bikers would crash or fall but for me I never fall and whenever I see a biker fall I would brake and see if they are ok….if they say no then ima call a police and a ambulance to come and help them but if they say yes I would help them up and help them….
Is it me or does it seem like clip on handlebars seem to get speed wobbles more than traditional handlebars ?
It is the geometry of the bike when the front is too low then the forks angles are too steep and unstable.. Too soft of springs in the front contributes to it. Most of them happen right after a wheelie and the soft front end can't stabilize the wheel immediately. It almost never happens to professional because the bikes are properly sprung for their weight and aggressiveness.

@@eljefe9377 even with that in panic situations we don't act as per training unless we constantly do that. And realistically which one of us goes and practice these skills very quarter at least? No one. Abs the only real solution
@@PovilasPanavas if you ride a motorcycle, you should always be practicing. It’s not that difficult. ABS is def a life saver , no argument there, but so is proper education and practice. Knee jerk reactions can be mitigated by practicing proper breaking technique. This is a fact.

Simulating panic situation is never the same as real situation. Plus we often practice in safe parking lots or special lots. No other traffic, the maximum breaking we do is on straight line, not while leaning, etc.

personally i think if lane filtering IS legal in your state and your doing so safely and someone deliberately opens their door or cuts you off, it should be within legal standing to charge that person with attempted murder , any fall on a bike whether slow or fast could potentially be a fatal fall
