I personally have not found this issue. Looking at cities, they are more visual in MSFS 2024 because the trees are less pronounced. Of course this video shows otherwise, but for me this is the excption to the rule.
I think the reason 2020 looks better is that it gives you the feeling of that depth of the land, you feel like it's a real earth feeling. 2024 has more details, but you feel it's just a display of 3D items, lacking that land depth feeling, more flat.
given 'reasonable' fps, unless the flight physics have been greatly improved, I don't see a reason for a flight simmer (not a game player) to find 2024 have any significant advantages to 2020- and especially for those of us who don't live in cities with great internet bandwidth. I DO like the idea of a 2024's electronic flight bag though.
When you max everything, in some locations it is breathtaking, then even with the enough bandwidth, when servers struggle you see terrible scenery ... At this point, no need to move to 2024 i guess.
Cities haven't improved much (if at all), but man does nature look good. The new ground texturing and trees are no joke honestly a game changer and th lighting in specific conditions is soo much better aswell.
The physics engine is not greatly improved. I’ve only been able to test it with 3 planes I fly in real life, but the behavior in those is still as untrue to reality as it was in MSFS2020. Even very basic things like fundamental stall behavior still aren’t modeled correctly. For example, the DV20 in the sim always drops a wing in a stall, while in real life this simply doesn’t happen in straight and level flight. The DV20 doesn’t asymmetrically stall, it just gently descends.
I think the real questions is, "Does 2024 look good enough to buy it full of bugs or remain on a stable 2020." Keep in mind, the longer a version is out it gets more stable and often goes on sale.
Exactly what I experienced... Nothing really changed. I paid 150 Dollars for the same grafics with slightly (!!) enhanced colours and flightmodels in exchange for tons of bugs which make most of the planes - even the default ones - partly unflyable... As a simmer since MSFS X and X-Plane 10 this was the biggest regret and disappointment ever in this area....
Well according to the performance metrics of my system without DLSS etc they are nearly the same. But in general MSFS2024 use resources better and feels smoother. i can max everything 30 fps locked easily.
i am preparing scenery coparison video (will be uploaded today) for 20 cities around the world. Some cities look worse in 2024 I hope it is because of the streaming and server load we are having since the game is new. I agree on nature it is really good.
@ looking forward to the video. I also think it is due to a streaming issues. I’m sure in a few weeks time most of the big bugs will get fixed. I’m mainly bumping into issues with airplanes - missing functionality that was previously already added by Asobo in MSFS2020 and some buttons bugs. But will get sorted I’m sure.

I find 2020 to be more accurate to real life locations that I'm familiar with. 2024 just spams trees everywhere

Thank you very much for the comparison. I have been waiting for a video like this since its release.
One is full of bugs one is not.
この動画を見て、益々2024を買う理由が、見当たらなくなった

Fs 2020 seguirá con larga vida, mejor contraste mejores texturas mas fluido 😍😍😍😍
I need the fps counter and also the cpu usage/gpu, can you do the same? thxs!

This is for ultra. I will do another for presets.👍
@@AOZ67 Compartion videos are very very useful! thanks!
great they made the lighting even more brighter so unrealistic
Why does medium look worse than low
Does 20 run better than 24?
It is not allways about the looks but also about the fps.

when I done my test, 24 was smoother and faster. I too maxed out everything and got 30 fps.
what are your specs?

Love the 2024 so far re graphics. Much more realistic. Streamed cities need to be fine-tuned. But the nature is amazing. Seems like a real deal.

We can see that "much more realistic" is not true, in this video.
Tree placement, especially in forests is a big improvement

@ thank u!
I have a ryzen 5 5600x and a geforce 3050, but u think it will run msfs2024?
Damn cashgrab
2020 looks better and gives double fps, wtf asobo ?
idk but i think 2020 graphics are better
When the prequel looks better than the sequel 😂 dumm
