Putting together Top 5/10 lists is always a difficult task especially in 2023 as we have seen some fantastic new releases over the year! I think I have managed to pick out the best ones but you may disagree.. Let me know if you do :) Links to all RC Cars featured in today's video are in the description and it made sense doing this video now so that if anyone is interested in buying these for Christmas you can be sure they arrive in time. See you on the next one! 😎💯👍
I know a great cheap, really fast (especially if you get 3S battery) and durable RC car. It's around £100 and along with the 3S, £120ish total. The car is the Feiyue FY07. I have one and they are great fun 2S or not. It's also brushless and does Abit below 30mph on 3S and about 18mph on 2S. Don't know if you've reviewed it before on this channel because I have been subbed for that long but would love to see it on the channel! 👍🏼
You nailed this list. Couldn't agree with you more. I have reviewed all of these on my channel except the HBX. They are well worth everyone's hard earned money.
The Rlaarlo with the cheap 19 dollars banggood 80mm sand paddles on 3s is the most fun you can have at the beach or any sand. It throws crazy rooster tails and wheelies on the sand for days.
I screenshot your comment and putting it on my desktop so i wont forget. The MJX 14210 (gold shell) seems like a great car for the beach as well. Comes with paddle tires and I've seen multiple videos where they were submerged for 5mins/going submarine in a swamp and still working fiiiine. I'm definitely picking one up for the beach asap 😂
we actually can get mjx new series under 80 bucks in baggood with points and special discount.. it's by far the best cheap rc in this yr for me after wltoys a series i saw last time for yrs
Of course MJX Hyper Go dominates the segment. I have their earlier buggy and monster trucks, and the Lancia lookalike car, and they are all INSANE value for money.
Hey , your vids helped me decide which one to get as my first rc. Hyper Go 14209. I did not regret it. I got one question , what you think shud i upgrade to metal parts ? They go for like half the money of the full rc car cost. Is it worth it? Or shud i get the basic parts for spares ?
metal parts are overrated. Metal bends and is more expensive to replace. Plastic is cheap and can flex :) Whilst the metal bits may look awesome unless it will be spending its like on a shelf. Plastic all the way!
@@beyondRC thank you for your reply . The red metal parts just look too good , but ill get some plastic spare parts instead. Also for bashing what you recommend , same price range as the 14209 also similar size ?
I am in love with the Rlaarlo AM-D12 but I have a problem, in my country it is not sold and the shipping cost is 25USD per kilo, that is to say that if it weighs 4 kilos I will pay 100USD apart from the cost of the RC car
It only seems a few weeks ago that you did this last year, and it's good to see some new cars on the list. All these companies have upped their respective games, and there are some great choices to be made, whatever kind of car or truck you prefer. 😎👍🏻
New to the channel some great vids I've been looking at the mjx stuff like the 14301 but ended up ordering a 16208 as wanted something a little more off road... might grap a 14301 also... just need to figure out what batteries to pick up and charger as I'm not sure the included ones will be the best. Also need to read up on battery charging/storage been out the loop for a while and not done Lipo yet so want to make sure I follow what's best... but also on a budget.
Mine arrived a week ago. Run like 5 2s packs and 4 3s packs so far. It is just to much fun. As a beginner i had hard time controlling it on a rocky/dusty road coz of how fast it is. On grass it was much easier. I did not regret it. Took mine for 157 Euro , it had 1 2s 3000mah and 2 3s 3000mah battery.
All 5 are very interesting, especially the HBX 2996 for me, the one I like the most. I think that the entry of the Arrma Gorgon is to be taken into account due to price, size and brand, it will take away many sales from any economical Chinese brand product.
I think the gorgon will be a great option for a lot of people. I couldn't include it in this list as I am yet to review and try it but hopefully will in the next couple weeks. I cant recommend something I haven't tried myself :)
deans and a super high c rating is not required here as its not mega high performance. C ratings are overrated and a way for companies to make money. An ESC will only pull as much as it needs. a 100c lipo would be totally useless in this application!
There's so many cheap rc cars today so it's almost impossible to test all extensive. I'm not an expert with these car's but the few I tested was surprisingly good value for the money. But it's not the same quality and components as the more expensive brands. Mostly it's still you get what you pay for with a few exceptions.
Great review, as it happens I have been looking at all these for Xmas from "me to me" 😊 I do like the look of the MJX Rock Racer overall, however all a good choice👍
Plus battery and charger? I like RTR. Everything included, charger battery. I started rc's last year, and my 3 crawlers mostly sit. After I got my first desert buggy, I was hooked. Now I want a desert trophy truck. 😊
help from anyone would be great. my sons asked for the arrma granite grom or hjx 16207. tbh im not clued up so which would you choose or is ther another you would recommend thanks
We appreciate the work you put into these lists for us. But if you wouldn't mind..., Would love to see your top five in Cars above $500. And a top five in each category. Crawler, Drift, on/off road etc. (Im sorry. Feels rude to ask for anything) But i will gladly ask to see a showcase of all your vehicles, and listen to why you do or don't love each car. Or your top 5 favourites of all time.
Not rude at all :) but the reason I do "cheap" videos is because that's what most of my audience wants to see. My channel is built off the cheaper end of the hobby. There a few channels who review the more expensive stuff as they also have a much much higher budget than me. Will keep this in mind though :)
@@beyondRC Ha.! Watching your other vids when this notification bell rang. 😎. Thanks for the reply. You can skip the above $500 list, but make sure you do the others. Haha. Na seriously, Not sure spending extreme money on RC cars gives you extreme fun any more than the quality cars on your channel. (I didn't even notice you had none of the expensive options reviewed). And it not fun paying for expensive parts after a crash. Would love to see your all time favourites though. I still love my Tamiya Hornet. (Gotta be at least 35yrs old now) Has nothing on today's cars but I love it.!
with a 200 dollar buggy on your "cheap" list, how in the world is the 200 dollar rlaarlo 917 and or 787 rtr's not on this list? 1/10 scale fully rtr cars with lights and hitting 60mph with just a battery swap to 3s, with faster gearing included, with 40 dollar carbon fiber chassis upgrade readily available, allowing dual motor, split driveshaft up to 6s operation, doing close to 200 mph with motor / esc upgrade from hobbywing and a 6s bat and mod 1 gearing fitting perfectly. It's hands down, a no brainer. Add in the current deal where you can get the full rtr metal version, as well as the carbon fiber roller, you get a 917 rtr and a 787 carbon fiber roller ready for single or dual motor 2s-6s, or visa versa, for under 400, and you have a value that's in my opinion (and many others') unmatched at that price point.
mainly because its not going to appeal to the vast majority. For the money yes its a great platform and i love mine but my videos are catered to a much wider audience. Speed running is a very niche area of the RC market. All cars featured in my top 5 videos are able to be used on a variety of surfaces and most importantly a speed running car would not be suitable to a beginner. My channel is based around budget/cheap and beginners! Cheers
Maybe a top 5/10 speed run cars would be good at both ends of the price range and upgrades and abilities for different age groups and people who are new too RC would be good

Run the paddles on the hyper go even on grass because the stock tires too grippy and it traction rolls alot on them

In Quebec Canada, hyper gos are not sold at a price of $279-300
hello, great video
is there any posible to change from brushed to brushles motor on these hobby grade rc cars?
Hey , your vids helped me decide which one to get as my first rc. Hyper Go 14209. I did not regret it. I got one question , what you think shud i upgrade to metal parts ? They go for like half the money of the full rc car cost. Is it worth it? Or shud i get the basic parts for spares ?

I lust over that black MJX in the top spot, but they're hard as hell to find in Canada.
I really want the hbx 2996a but that small battery tray turns me off, I hope they make a true 1/10 scale truck and fix that
i hope so too !
Great picks
Going to have to get a hbx truggy
What do you think of the jetwood 1:14 as an option to the hyper go? The latter is sold out on Amazon.
Greeting from chile
I might get the Lancia Delta for Christmas if I haven't scored a Rlaarlo by then. Good list!

Timely video, i ordered a 14209 this morning. Hope i made a good choice.
Good choice!

Was wondering how the tires hold up on the MJX 14301 and "2" ? Do they burn up quick on pavement?
Good video! I think I'm gonna try to grab one of these as a Christmas gift...... for myself 😂
Superb list👌 Looking forward to see what these companies will release in 2024.
Great video Rik. There have been some great cars this year. Its a shame I'm running out of room to store them... lol
😂😂👍

Do any have a slow setting? I want to get an off road capible RC to share with my 6 year old
Was the arrma gorgon considered for this list, or did it come out too late?
I am yet to review it or experience it which is why it wasn’t included. Hoping to get it on the channel next week
For the new mjx truggy. Have you got a good 3s battery you can tell me to get that will fit please mate ?!
any 2200mah 20-30c will do great! 😎👍
Cheers mate. Would a higher c rating not be good or fit ?
@@beyondRC what connector is it aswell ? T deans?! Xt60?

Nice job Ricky, some interesting offerings, I must admit I like the look of the am d rlaarlo looks really good, thanks for your upload mate 👍🙏🐱
How did the #1 MJX trucks run against each other? The bouncer version currently is my next truck. Should i get the basher?
Great review, as it happens I have been looking at all these for Xmas from "me to me" 😊 I do like the look of the MJX Rock Racer overall, however all a good choice👍
The "me to me" are the best gifts! Treat yourself well, lol.
Do the 14210 and 14209 both have the same axles? Im told the rear axles were something totally new for the gold/bronze shell car?
where would you put the MJX MEW4 M163 knowing it's half the price of the its big brother HyperGo ?
if I had to 3/4 great little cars but bit smaller so not as capable.
THANK YOU

Well picked list you put together Ricky! Nice job!💯👊🏼😎
Awesome thank you!
Its hard to decide... too hard! 😅 But Im really attempted to go for ak787...
Informativ review as always 👍🏻 Today I got my mjx 14209 and it is exactly how you explain it. Nearly to fast on 3s 🤪
Got any good options for 1/10 or bigger. Want something cheap big and fun ? Thanks
Arrma gorgon is probably the best option now. I am yet to review it but I hear its very good!
No Arrma Gorgon?
I am yet to test it so couldn't possibly recommend it yet :) 😎💯

it's not even the end of October. 🤣
Got to get those orders in early in time 😎👍
Electric RC's have come so far, so quickly. All the above vehicles are absolute bargains.
Ill take 1 of each please
What about Arrma Gorgon @$169 RTR ?
Everything I buy is 4wd. If it was 4wd I'd get one, If it has all metal gears, I'm good.
