GERMANY: Arnsberg city (Sauerland)

The city of Arnsberg is almost completely encircled by forest, and in the north there is the natural park "Arnsberger Wald".
It is located in the Ruhr river valley, in the Hochsauerland district, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
The Sauerland is a rural, hilly area spreading across most of the south-eastern part of North Rhine-Westphalia, in parts heavily forested and, apart from the major valleys, sparsely inhabited.

I live in Arnsberg and, as much as it's really quiet there and nothing really happens, it has its history. The historical and old places you can visit are breathtaking and all have their own stories and meanings.

Meine Geburts- und Heimatstadt. Ich werde sie nie vergessen. Das merkt man aber erst in der weiten Ferne in der Fremde.
Aber ich bin geboren in den 40igern. Und es war nicht immer einfach damals kurz nach dem faschistischen Krieg.
Ich habe noch in den Trümmern hinter dem Bahnhof und in der Bahnhofstrasse
in Arnsberg gespielt.
