Quick follow up video to explain the networked digital displays running on a couple of old WIN10 PC's I wasn't using and repurposed them along with some digital screens that were collecting dust. You can have them wake on LAN, however I am using smart switches instead. Especially during the pandemic, this was a fun way to create the commotion and sensory overload you feel being at a game (to a small degree anyway!)

I use this app to automatically scale and display the videos/ gifs/ images: pictureflect.com/
Setup so this launches on startup. WIN10 will remember when you have it full screen and will start that way when you turn on again.
Some advice: Key is make this as less of a hassle to turn on, hence the use of smart switches. I have the display and the PC on the same smart switch (check in your PC BIOS for an option to turn on when there is power). Ensure on WIN 10 you have auto log on enabled. Perhaps your router doesn't change internal IPs too often, but best to reserve the one your PC is assigned as well the your media player. This way it will be easier with FE Explorer to login to your pc. for Pictureflect: be sure to enable the apps to start when the PC starts. Windows will remember the window size as well and suggest to leave it maximized. I never do a proper shutdown and with SSD drives it's never been an issue. Hi, this is just awesome. And I was just wondering how this is playing for 2.35:1? Because usually, NBA playing 16:9. You changed the ratio by the projector or directly coming from a streaming device.

Thanks for the video! Are the screens you use PC monitors, or TV's? And can either be used?
No problem. Can use either, but mine are digital signage screens as they aren't as reflective as tvs and have small bezels with no logos on the edge.

High they are older screens in the theater room, both 46". The ones outside see 32 inch Samsung's . Will grab the models later

Thx! They are digital signage screens. You can use tv but these look much nicer like a picture frame as the screen has no bezel and also not as glossy.

Thx really they are too expensive when new but look on Facebook marketplace or Craigslist, restaurants and malls are constantly upgrading and selling old

Great job! What are the dimensions of that room, excluding the space behind the screen? I just bought a new house without a theatre (my current one already has one) and I have a space in mind that looks pretty identical to yours. I wasn’t sure I could pull it off, but your theatre is giving me hope! Could you tell me a) the depth of the room from the screen to the back wall; b) the width of the room; c) the height of your ceiling? Thanks! Your videos are very inspiring!

TorontoR Thanks! Will do! My room is 11.5x33 so it should be doable, I hope. Do you know your ceiling height? In the new house it will be 7’6” which is a lot lower than the 10 ft I have in my current home theatre. Poses a bit of a dilemma for raising the back row.
@@jeffbabies7428 that is exactly the height with mine. Dine with a 12 inch riser in the back, just gotta warn any buddies who are 6 5 or taller 😜

Any ideas on how to automate the box scores? I love that idea and want to do it but I don't want to browse to the game every time I want it up. Is there a way to automate the box score of my favorite team to show every time a game starts
Yes but would have to write some code via an API to do some commands and do that, for select teams. A bit more complex but someone with more time should be able to do it easily 🙂
@@gameroomtheater I'm curious if you ever got around to this. I have an extra tv, and just want to be able to keep track of scores and news, mostly ESPN based. I tried to make the magicmirror program work on a raspberry pi, but quite unsuccessfully
Power consumption must be crazy? Is the bill to run this significantly or marginally different than before you had the set up??
This is a dream set up!
Thx. This question comes up a lot but everything is only when people are over which is perhaps once a week for a few hours, or if my kids want to hangout. Everything is LED and honestly don't really feel a few bucks more for about 3 or so hours a week of usage which is typically after hours on a lower rate anyway. I'd say the difference to my bill is a couple of bucks more a month.
How long did it take you to create that game room I would love to have that
Been adding and swapping stuff for a few years so I'd say about 3 years with different things didn't do all at once.

Is there an app available on IOS that I could use to push the images to the PC for the screens?
I'm sure there is but I don't have anything apple...besides my kids who have iPhones 😜

Can use tvs but this is digital signage...don't recommend new since they are expensive and usually not for consumers but can find for cheap used

How do you get pictureflect to startup when windows starts?
ASA! Google how to out an application in startup on windows! You will get the steps ..other way is in regedit. Try the easy route first.

I do have a third in storage just can't work in the room. There are surround speakers in the walls that would be blocked. Plus the PC I have would need an upgraded video card to out put to three
