Quick follow up video to explain the networked digital displays running on a couple of old WIN10 PC's I wasn't using and repurposed them along with some digital screens that were collecting dust. Had quite a few people request a better explanation.
Apps used:
www.movieposterapp.com/
github.com/Ghawken/FrontView/...
The third app I kept referring to in the video called "Picture Perfect" is not correct. It's actually called Pictureflect pictureflect.com/ Just search for animated GIF Movie Posters online, there are 100s, just save them in a folder and and point Pictureflect to it. Setup so this launches on startup. WIN10 will remember when you have it full screen and will start that way when you turn on again.
Kodi skin I use: Aeon MQ 8
Some advice: Key is make this as less of a hassle to turn on, hence the use of smart switches. I have the display and the PC on the same smart switch (check in your PC BIOS for an option to turn on when there is power). Ensure on WIN 10 you have auto log on enabled. This will ensure it is seamless. Perhap your router doesn't change internal IPs too often, but best to reserve the one your PC is assigned as well the your media player. I mention Kodi in the video however you can also setup Frontview if you use Plex or Emby (I don't use those however see the options in Frontview. Movie Poster App is supposed to have Frontview functionality natively as well for automation to show runtimes, however the app hasn't been updated in a while and I couldn't get it to work with the latest Kodi. Still a great app to automatically pull posters and genres you prefer. Be sure to enable the apps to start when the PC starts. Windows will remember the window size as well and suggest to leave it maximized. I never do a proper shutdown and with SSD drives it's never been an issue. Наука

Great video. 👍 what could spec do you need to run this set up plz
You have an awesome Theater/Game Room setup. Definitely one of the best that I’ve ever seen!!!!!
Wow, thanks!
I'm making a "Life Goals" playlist and this is gonna be the first video in it.
awesome man, i'll be fun when you can finally do it :)
Lol, I created a "Home Cinema" playlist but I like that better 🤣🤣
Very nice man! You are one of those dudes that pays attention to detail! I can tell that you dont half-ass anything you do. Good job on the cave. I started building my man cave this year and it sure is a challenge. Maybe in about 10 years ill have it somewhat complete. Cheers!
Thx buddy! Slow and steady and you won't feel it either. 👍😉
TorontoR Thanks! I just got done with part of my build and what a relief. But yes as long as you see results it makes it all worth it.. cheers
Your Digital Tech setup IS the Future 🍻💪
I recently discovered this channel. This is outstanding. You did soooo good. Super clever this PC setup. Thanks so much for sharing.
Excellent sir thank you! motivated to post up some helpful videos so others can get some ideas and emulate or do more ! Please do subscribe!
The movie poster monitors are next level.
Great setup!
ty!
I love it man! Great all round area! Thanks for showing!
Great setup! I love it! I don’t have near that much stuff, but you’ve given me some ideas for my setup. Thanks!
Awesome man exactly what I want to see inspire for ideas as I get them from others 😜. Best of luck brother
Looks awesome. Not a big basement but used pretty much every inch of it. Super awesome
Really nice basement you got, can see you have put a lot of thoughts and energy in building it 👍👍👍
Thanks a bunch!
Very well done, and not too over the top. I think you nailed it. Anything more would be overkill for the space. Well done, sir.
thx brother!
I'm jelly... Awesome setup, dude. Can't wait to see your next video!
goes well with peanut butter! lol was that fast enough to respond, thx dude :)
Amazing Setup you have in the hitech dream cave!
I have some of the stuff you have. My basement is not as big, but you've given me ideas to add to my Mancave👍🏽
Again great freakn job Bro.
thanks man, been the same for me, lots of inspiration from others, that is the whole point of my channel. It isn't those million dollar basements, its achievable, over time, and if you're will to DIY and repurpose things :). Sub please as I will be doing more update video :)
well this guy didn't get a stimulus check
Lol 😁
We actually just wired for this in our new showroom. Showcasing it soon. Fantastic content brother.
Awesome! Thank you!
@@gameroomtheater you're welcome brother. You cracked that nasty RUclips algorithm somehow. Tell me your secrets LOL
This is an absolutely insane setup. I will definitely be using some ideas from this for future projects!
Thx man what it's all about , hope more people get things going 😊
There's so many ideas in this setup that I would have never even known about. How did you find out about all of this?
I like to tinker but get a lot of inspiration as well, for the rest I enjoy blazing a new trail lol. I'm Mr Extra with my friends for a reason and need to live up to it. Folllow me on insta, going to do more update and how to videos here as well.
I'll check it out! Some of the integration with tech is a new game for me, but I love setting up my house like this as well! 13 years on the last seats? Sounds like you've been in the "game" for a while. Haha. People ask how others afford this... Little cash, lot of time, do it yourself.
Bingo...and then it looks more baller than it is 🤭
Super cool. I told y wife about the movie poster tv showing what was playing. Gotta do it.
Awsome the way you organise every thing,i can realy learn from you.
Thx man! Check out my insta will post more there I'm on Instagram as @gameroomtheater. Install the app to follow my photos and videos. instagram.com/gameroomtheater
Nice! I watched other video, really spectacular set up.
Thanks!
What monitors did you use for the movie poster displays?
Very cool setup!
Would love a chance to talk about the setup a bit with you maybe throw some ideas back and forth and learn more about like the lighting setup and projector setup! Absolutely amazing I love it!
Cool! I'm definitely motivated to make more videos, this was the first rookie run, enjoying being able to share ideas and perhaps be helpful to someone and to start DIY projects. Key is getting things automated to simply use and make the most of what you may already have!
BTW, please do subscribe, I will do some additional videos on specific theater equipment and will talk about lighting/ PJ choice etc.
Genius!!! When I get enough money I’m just gonna pay you to do this for me. Not gonna try to figure it out!
Epic set up. Very neat n clean.
Glad you enjoyed it
Need to do a tutorial ASAP from start to finish in order for the regular tech guy can get those movie posters up and running..My studs are up, electricity is done and now a lot of us are waiting on you lol Thanks and congrats, good job.
thx, doing some renos in the basement at the moment, will be doing a few more for sure! :)
@@gameroomtheater did u do a tutorial of how to do this yet?
Yea I’m going to need that tutorial
Your house is incredible!!
Very nice basement set up.
Your setup is amazing! How about an automated red velvet curtain for your entryway? would look nice opened and provide light block in case you want to use both rooms at the same time.
Great idea, thought about it for the movie screen. Also this is an old video from 2 years ago it's very different and closed off now. I will do an updated digital signage automation video with more details soon though as this was a 'horse to water' video but some people need to be made to drink step by step 😜
Looks fantastic!
This would be a way to spend on Lockdown for sure yes would love to see your equipment
please see my other video from Feb, I put the equipment list there. Will be doing another video soon as I did some major changes.
What screens do you use for the movie posters?
Great setup! New sub here!
Thanks I just made mine with your help
Killer video man!
it is nice setup you have there I hope more videos will come👌🏻
thank you, definitely will! :)
Do you have a link or what app for the animated movie poster top left ? Everything looks greAt and great setup .
Outstanding!!! What is the screen set you have at the theatre?????
This was awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Stumbled across your channel the other day subbed right away! You've created an outstanding space, lots of inspiration for the space I'm staring to envision for our home. Quick question, what are the details (size, brand) on those monitors you've repurposed for the movie posters? I'm about to start budgeting lol thanks!
Thx Tom! That is awesome and exciting times do DM me on my Instagram if you have questions along the way always happy to help. Those screens I had and I repurposed. They are digital signage but nowadays you can find bezeless screens that look best for family cheap even used. Digital signage can be expensive if bought new but you can always find them uses they look better I find as they are not as reflective as well. But you can easily repurpose monitors or tvs you may have already.
@@gameroomtheater great, thanks for the quick response, I really appreciate it. I’ll def hit you up on Instagram and harass you with more questions at some point!
I’ve got a couple of digital movie posters that I’m almost done setting up couple questions for you, do use the movie poster app for both of the screens you’re showing in your theater room one is showing static movie posters. The other is showing moving movie posters but I think you said gifs but they are of high quality, but then later you say picture perfect app for the gifs?
Love it...keep up the good work. Will check back for more videos.
What kind of monitors do you use? Awesome setup by the way, been following for a while now!
Awesome Set up my hats goes off to you! quick question what projector are you using the contrast ratio is outstanding at first I thought you were using a giant OLED = ) Keep up the great work !
Thanks Peter, it's the Optimal UHD65, really love this pj and pretty content with it . My video from Feb has the full equipment list in the description
Awesome setup man, always wished to have something like this. Do you have a more step to step guide for those that aren’t that tech savvy
Amazing setup good job mate. Do you have a video of the software setup? also what are the tv/monitor specs?
Amazing! Would the movie poster front-view app work with Jellyfin or does it only work with Kodi?
What are small tv on the wall called displaying movies
Just when I thought my little one room game room was cool....this guy makes my room looo like junk lol.
This is really incredible. What about using LCD TVs and what is the ideal size? Also how large is your basement?
how did you set up front viewer?
What do you mean point picture flect at the folder?
where did you get the Spiderman Gif poster?
can you do a tutorial on the movieposter app integration with frontview+ and the repository for the skin you're using?
@4:52 - it's a bit difficult to see, but do you have a black accordion door separating the theatre and the game room? If not, maybe an accordion door or blackout curtains could also help set the mood and blockout light?
Please subscribe and see my latest video :)😎
What floor plan is that house I am gonna build a house down here in Denver and want a plan like this with a basement like this 👍🏽
Amazing setup. Are you still planning to create something about your current signage setup? Would love to see what you’re running now.
nice set up
This is so awesome, may I ask which Kodi addon are you using for viewing movies? I currently use Venom and the screen to choose movies never looks like what you have, which looks great!
Thx! I put it in the description of the video. The skin is called Aeon MX 8
Well done brother
Where do you buy your movie posters?
Awesome setup. You should consider doing a detailed video on how to set the movie posters up from scratch for people who have no clue what they are doing. Aka me lol
I’m exactly the same. Absolutely love it but being 48 years old, watching some of the descriptions on how to do it is akin to watching it in Koptic Greek
Where do you download the high resolution gifs movie posters
Hey am having a issue finding tv with vertical option. How do I switch to vertical mode? Thanks for your help in advance
We’re do you get those and can you get a gaming digital poster
Just look at your main speakers can tell the sound is excellent!
Love this 😍😍 where did u get ur packman nd other games from.???
but more importantly what filter mpr do you use for that furnace? lol im using 3m flitrete 2800 now but i think air doesnt flow as well as when i used 1900. i got a 3pk of 2200 at Costco so ill try that next switch time. mine is 20x25x1
How do I get frontview+ to work I tried everything
may i ask the exact smart tv’s u have in the theatre? like the name and brand and size. so i dont by one that doesnt work with the internet
Sorry if I missed this - how does kodi communicate to the pictureflect to initiate the poster change or runtime of the movie that’s playing?
Is there an easier way to get this set,
Very nice set up! How do you get the movie poster app to communicate with the Nvidia Shield, Roku Ultra....? Can you directly link the Movie Poster App with Nvidia Shield or Roku Ultra without Kodi or Plex? Im having a very difficult time with using Plex.
What kind of monitors did you use, if I may ask?
Amazing mancave! How. Much would you charge to do this for someone just the labor? Just curious
Thank you!
Great video and what an awesome place you got there. BTW, the poster/LCD screen that you have on the wall, the screen itself looks huge. How big are those monitors?
thanks! They are 46"
Best room ever! One day I can only hope to try to get it to this level. By your handle I'm assuming you're in Toronto? I'm in Halifax soooooo..... You ever wanna drop by and help I'm not that far away!! 😂😝
thx, yes sir, can make it happen 😉
What steps did you use to get KODI to recognize the movie poster app I'm having trouble when I play my movie is not picking up on the app
Carefully built
Outstanding. I love this and will be implementing it into my dedicated home theater. Hopefully I can reach out to you when/if I hit a snag.
Nice reel :D
True man cave bro , Superb
Awesome video! What's the size of your riser for the second row seats? I'm guessing around 70" depth and 8" high?
Thank you! It had to be 12" so I added a step as well. It is 60" deep.
Are those posters big screen tvs? Do you have a connect to get so many monitors at a discount?
Where did you purchase your digital movie screens
wish I was more tech savy and knew how to use a raspberry pi.
Is there a way to use an old phone to send a constant feed to a screen? I was just gonna use a USB, but everytime the TV turns off I have to reboot it. Looking for something that if I turn the TV off and on, it pics right up where it left off. I have several old phones and figured it would be a better alternative saving energy than running a computer
I hope one day i get even half what you have
the most perfect HT i have ever scene
jzk bro!
The movie poster is awesome, is there any apps for video games as well that you use in the game room, a screen running the movies app, and a screen running video games or even showing what video games are currently being played, like how you did the movies would be so cool
Thats so awesome!
We’re did you get the motion digital poster I been looking for some and have not been able to find them like the ET love your setup
Can use any old tv or search for used digital signage screens.
Could you do a video on how to setup real time sync when watching movies?
Sweet!!! It’s fire 🔥
What size tvs you used
Hi, Love your setup. I am just building a new media room myself and now I am thinking of adding a movie poster screen like yours. Here is my question. I see the movie poster app auto downloads posters from the internet and states it needs an internet connection, but was wondering if I downloaded the posters I want and put them in a folder on the offline PC that connects to the LCD screen is that possible (I assume it would be). As this is a 2 part thing... for when I want general use/TV time or movie time then I would want the movie posters, but when I watch hockey I would want it to flip over to hockey only images... do you think that is possible in this sort of setup?
I use it exactly as you describe but leave it wifi connected. You can certainly download all the specific posters you want and it stays in cache. Check out my Instagram on how else I use them. I use an app on my phone called unified remote to control things when I need to. Check it: instagram.com/gameroomtheater
Awesome stuff
Really Cool 👍
🙋Hi from Tennessee 🌻
Thx👍😎
that basement is massive. I wish mine was that sized. I did make mine 9ft tall which I love, but it's only 1k sqft, and with all my projects and arcade games down there I have no space for something like this.. I would sure love to have my next house with a basement that large though.
I tried searching for those animated GIF movie posters like the ones you showed, but most are only like 3-400 megapixels so when they're stretched to full screen they look funny. Any way to give a link to where you got the E.T. and the Terminator one? Thanks!
Absolutely love your posters mate, unfortunately theres just no way I’m IT savvy enough to replicate them in any sort of reasonable time frame 😆 thanks for the interesting video though!!!! 👍
lol thx, when you do it'll be a fun project!
