I love all the small details you add Jess. I mainly just stick to a theme and draw that until the season is done. I guess I have over 200 that I do. It does help when you draw a certain thing over and over again.
you inspire me so much! when you told your story of "make more art" and the story of your art teacher saying "draw this/that 100 times" and see how much you've improved, I immediately got inspired and grabbed a pencil and paper, and started drawing. I suck at drawing cats and dogs, but am quite good at drawing other animals, especially the rabbit, in a style I like. so I get right to it, i dont know whats with your videos thats SO SO easy to inspire other people, probably your soothing voice, and pictures you show in the video, making others hope they can be like you one day, like me. I actually just started watching your videos today, and I was like *YES.* **inspiration kicks in**
This painting is beyond realism and so beautiful. And Mathilda is looking incredibly stylish.😉 What a cute cat ! Thanks for all these advices. It really helps us hobby artists a lot, and learning new things is definitly something that, as a Ravenclaw, I totally relate to.😂 Btw, your paint process with the oil and such is so satisfying and fascinating. Seeing these brushes of colours (and not just brown, also blue, Pink and green etc for the furr) makes it seem so realistic. Love from Europe !
I love your painting, this video is exactly what I needed today. Also, I don’t know if you have tried it, but I always spray my drawing with workable fixatiff before toning my underpainting. It just keeps the graphite from smudging and mixing with my paint. That way you never have to worry about ruining your drawing
Hey! Thanks! I’ve done it for previous paintings and I love how it helps! I use an ‘H’ pencil and I find it doesn’t ruin the drawing much. I just was in a bit of a time crunch with this painting and decided to skip the step
I just want to say thank your for posting, not only art but as well as tips and positivity, everytime I watch your videos it truly makes me inspired to draw like to the point of "I have to get my stuff now" so thank you for keeping art alive for me
How can those 9 negative persons make themselves put their thumbs down on this amazing picture - done by such a nice, sweet, and positive spirit as Jess? Beautiful painting, Jess! I've been working on a couple of oil paintings for a couple of people and the other day, I realised that adjustments needed to be done. It was a bit upsetting but I kind've turned it into a positive, knowing what needed to be sorted. Also, I'll never give up.

Amazing! Thank you for making your videos. I’m a photographer that always had a passion for painting so I’ve started the journey of learning. Your video are extremely helpful thank you.

When did you really realise that drawing is your thing? In one of your Videos you mentioned that it was kind of hard to choose between dancing and drawing. I'm saying this because I'm in the same situation. I love dancing, it feels just so good turning off my head and dancing how I feel in that moment. But I do really enjoy drawing too. I have heard from a lot of people that I'm talented and I should pursue that. It feels so nice finishing a drawing and be proud of it. After that just show it to my family and friends and get a confirmation from them, that it went out really well. I'm still in High School but I think about it really often. Like: what am I doing after graduating from high school? By the way this drawing went out reaaally great!!❤️

Man you motivate me so much to paint. I really need a huge advice. I feel if you can help I would be so grateful, it's just that I'm so insecure of my artwork, I feel there are so many artists who are so good and I always question if I or my artwork would ever have chance to stand. On March 2022 I would need to choose what I want to do in my life and I'm soo confused. It's not that I don't like to paint but it's just that I'm insecure 😥 please advise me. I really need a advice from a professional..💖
Hi! I am so glad. Please don’t get discouraged by other artists. It’s great to take inspiration but you need to stay positive and pursue your passion on your own journey! You can choose to look at the positive instead of the negative and think “wow these artists inspire me, I hope to work hard to achieve higher levels” rather than “wow these artists are so good I don’t have a chance” - the moment you switch your mind to thinking differently- your life will change! Hope this helps :)
I used to feel that way too. You just need to change your mindset- everytime I see a great artist, I tell myself that I should try very hard, so that one day I'll be as good as they are! This motivates me to work hard to achieve my goals
Hey Akshita! Just want to share my experience as I was in a similar place when deciding on colleges- I always loved art but never thought I'd be good enough to pursue it as a career. I admired my friends who went for design school but was too intimidated to even consider it an option for myself. So I picked different subjects which though I was comfortable with, they weren't my passion. Because I was unfulfilled I began to draw more often, and so for my first year of college I unknowingly made it a practise. I realised I actually could improve- ofc you hear that you can get good at anything you put the time and effort into, but I didn't believe it until I experienced it. Now not only did I love art, I finally believed that I can pursue it too. So I changed my clg and now I'm doing fine arts. It's a dream come true and the only thing that changed was my realisation that I, and anyone can really do what they love, and be good at it. These past couple of years I've surprised myself so much, being able to work with subjects and mediums I never thought I could tackle. I have complete faith that you can reach a place of satisfaction with your art work. Because you have the love for it. Nothing can stop you from continuously getting better and better, every art work you do helps you improve as an artist because even the ones we don't like teach us something. It's all part of the journey, and it's an endless learning process. Just keep reminding yourself that you have the capability to create art work you are proud to show off, because you definitely do. I think why I was able to prove to myself that I can be good at art during that first year was because I was not doing it for anyone else to judge, or ironically to prove anything. I was simply doing it out of love for it. I just got lost in the appreciation for the art form, enjoyed it so much that I didn't care how it turned out. So I'd encourage you to let your love for it guide you as well ❤️ improvement will undoubtedly follow. In fact, it will just become a bonus because you're enjoying so much you will appreciate your art at every stage. I wish you the absolute best for your future and if you make an art account on insta or youtube, do share. I'd love to follow and support ❤️
