- All right guys, no more spoilers please. We'll see all possible endings soon enough.
This will be a leisurely exploration of realMYST, the 3D remake of Myst. These videos are good for fun facts, time-wasting, and cheesy jokes, but bad for a quick show-me-the-answer-now walkthrough.

Still, it is so much clearer than the 'regular' video that I first saw when I logged in before they'd done the HD bit. Your videos and Sven's videos really give the experience of the game to those of us who are never going to get to play those games on our current machines. And as you both know, Myst aficionados can't keep away from those worlds!
You get such a better view of the layout of Channelwood in the realMyst version as compared to the original. Thanks for taking the time to look round...
I was 12 when I first played the original.
I speak as if it's our first visit to each age, but I myself have played many times before. It should be obvious, especially when I expound on minute details, alternate puzzle solving routes, and background stories.
1:35 - Love the noise you make! :)
This video is cursed by terrorists... it paused to buffer at 9:11 on september 11th, 2010! :0 Oh well we still will remember those we lost and great videos!
Even with HD, RUclips is really struggling with the Channelwood Age in particular. I think it has to do with the fact there are so many details at large distances and it's just too much to handle. RUclips's output is blurrier than the video I uploaded, and heck even the upload is worse than the original capture file. The fact it can't even cleanly display the journal page this time pretty much says it all.
Turning the crank was so worth it, I was hoping all through the last video that you would.
When I upload my videos, I always set them as private. Then I wait until they've been processed to HD, and then switch them to public. That way, everyone gets the HD version from the start. :-)
I've been playing the Nintendo DS version of this game, and this age is SO hard to navigate between the still shots and tiny screens. I was stuck here forever trying to get the water to flow to all the correct places.
"we're not stranded here or anything" *door closes*
4:30
This is fun to imagine. :P
6:32
Nice view.
6:47
"It just seems redundant ...and so do I. I think I've said this 3 or 4 times now." hahaha
7:05
"It onl-It's only in operation as long as the water is powering up-Powering it up." Stuttering after talking about repeating yourself is amusing timing.
8:25
I like how you say "to us." Nice emphasis. (you do it again at 10:02 yay!)
8:49
I like when you point out stuff like this because then I can't stop being aware of how strange it is
Funny that you mention the "alternative" route of just jumping on the staircase which the game doesn't let you do. I was recently recording the Age Er'cana for my Let's Play of Uru (it'll be a while before I get to upload the videos of that age though), and there I also complain about this. There numerous spots in that Age where you should be able to just wade through the water, or jump over the gap in the path, but the game doesn't let you do it. It breaks immersion imo.
"residents of the confused natives" lol
yeah, i should have copied the map when i played this last..i have the original Myst, and i kept getting lost on the second level..i like this 3d version a lot!
can't wait for 26!
lol that poor confused native
I love your videos. You had me waiting in suspense for this one. I definitely can't wait for the next one. 5/5
i never used the map for that maze, just figured it out :(
Yeah, I think that's what had me confused. I guess this is the first time I caught this video before that had happened. But it's HD now. I didn't realise it was RUclips that did the processing and not you guys.
Yeah, it was definitely not just you. When I played the original, I understood the map, knew what I should do, but for the life of me could not find that stupid bridge.
Lol ( laughs and pushes Shady in the water ) lol I wish
@Gradius6 in france we call this Age like this "l'Age de la paserelle de bois"
ok i was stuck here forever because i missed the switch
Beautifully done review and explanation. Ten stars mate!
Thanks for letting me know. I think I'm going to wait. ;-)
The problem with that is that I'm not sure if subscribers get email notification of the upload.
I wanna live in Channelwood.
Yeah, Part 26 is in the works.
Are you going to post an HD version of this video? I'm not nagging, just curious. I've really been enjoying this Let's play. Thanks.
Welcome to the party.
Thats why i love ur videos lol
Yeah, this was the first age I visited in the original. Just gotta say, the whole having to go all the way across town just to open a door on the other side that could have easily been bypassed by careful footing on a staircase, not very practical...
i played this when i was like 8...
never left the first island... LOL!
also i was a bit scared cause the lvls were a bit creepy when ur 8... i expected something come out and eat the player at every corner...
rofl... good times
I lol'd at 1:37
Yeah, me too, but I put it there for completeness.
You don't have vertigo do ya?
Eh, it's not HD because youtube loves to take it's time to make HD available.
MYST
are you going to make more videos with endings? because you say 25 of 25 on this one
so in hindsight you kinda did this level backwards: you found the way back first instead of trying to find the pages.
Actually, I think it's 1:36.
Doesn't it get dark in this age?
@BuddhaMaster84 I'd risk it. ^_^
Are you using a mac
No! He's using a PC
Argh. More like the Creakywood Age.
I like the atmosphere, but I can't be the only one who gets sick of the creaking noise.
