    2, 3 hour sessions core crushed…..and it’s been over a week since we reached out to Joola, their reply “Recent events have made it a little more difficult for us to be there exactly when you need us, but rest assured we are still here for you. “ So is this because of issues or because they are swamped by orders because of all the reviewers and pros pumping a poorly designed paddle. If you don’t hit hard probably never an issue, but if you do stay away till they redesign it! My Gearbox Power Pro lasted a week before the face dented…

    • @JJPickleball
      @JJPickleball  Месяц назад

      Been hearing more and more issues. My fear is that the quality comes down to luck. With how many they are delivering there are bound to be issues. This shouldn’t be the standard but it is Joola. Hopefully they fix these issues and once demand levels out their support team will be more helpful. Regardless I am sorry to hear that and I appreciate the feedback.

    Poors constantly whine about prices and the Joola 3s. I have both the Perseus 3 16mm and the Hyperion 3 14mm. They are awesome. Don’t listen to the losers. They are great for crisp flat striking. If you hit plush and like a lot of tennis spin motions then get the Ruby.

      @JJPickleball  Месяц назад

      Thank you for the feedback. I do think the higher price point is due to their sponsorships and r&d, but there are a lot of sub 200 dollars paddles that perform amazing. With that said I did but with my own money 4 of the gen 3’s. Amazing and fun paddle, but maybe not for everyone.

      Poors tend to buy better paddles that are cheaper - no need to risk all that money when you don't know what you're going to get.

    I've been seeing negative reviews on the Gen 3's in general, in my pursuit to finding good paddles as a Pickleball Beginner. There are also negative reviews on Selkirk as well. Like, what gives? Yes, I'm new to the sport but a lot of people have advised to get a good-to-pro quality paddle to already begin with. Is there "a" definitive paddle to get? Thanks!
    Awesome video btw! The Magnus is now on the radar. New Subscriber!

      Selkirk and Joola paddles are great. Both are popular companies for a reason. The issue with Selkirk is they charge a premium price, but they have fallen behind with technology lately. Joola made a great paddle in this gen 3, but they don’t have the best quality control. The gen 3 is a great paddle but for the price you’ll expect the paddle to last you a long time or at least be more consistent in the quality. Mine have all held up well so far, but my friends haven’t. Selkirk also has a lifetime warranty and great customer support vs Joola who does not. The new paddletek is a great power paddle (review coming soon) Vatic prism flash, six.zero double black diamond are both great as well. I would say just demo a paddle and see what you like if possible. Pickleball central offers 30 day returns on all purchases if you don’t have a local shop where you can test them.

    These paddles are generally well made but, there is a very very, I mean very small envelope where these paddles do their super tricks. It's more of a surprise when you get extra power and spin not something you can control or plan on. One in ten shots is like wow, where did that come from. Otherwise it's hard to be very precise with any shot that flexes the eva foam at all. I'm a 4.5 player and I find this true with all the EVA foam paddles I've tried and sent back. My advise, stick with Gen2, Engage pro, Legacy pro, Paddletek TKO, 6.0 DBD and don't buy into all the experiment paddles out there.

      Great feedback. Appreciate the comment. However I think the power of these paddles is real and the sweet spot is much better than previous power paddles. I do agree that most people should be sticking with gen 2 as of now. It’ll be interesting to see if this tech gets fine tuned by the end of the year

    • @JJPickleball
      @JJPickleball  Месяц назад

      Swing weight is 120. So definitely a little more head heavy than a lot of paddles. Hand speed will be slowed down a bit if you use something with a lower swing weight, however you do gain power.

    I heard the 14mm has better control than the 16mm, if that true?

    • @JJPickleball
      @JJPickleball  Месяц назад

      I would say slightly. With the 16 mm you are more likely to have the “big” (more power than you wanted) misses. The 14 still has plenty of power and the touch is much similar to other paddle on the market. However, the 16 is easy to dink with in my experience and drops are much easier than the gearbox pro power. If control is most important to you then I would go with the 14.

    • @JJPickleball
      @JJPickleball  Месяц назад

      I completely agree that there are plenty of quality paddles between 120-180. One thing to keep in mind is Joola does a lot of sponsorships and is paying a lot of the top pros. This is probably leading to them needing to charge more to cover their bottom line and all they do for the game of pickleball. However, there is no need to spend this much money on a paddle. I do think this paddle is unique and does provide something new and exciting that a lot of people will enjoy. But with the problems and what else is on the market…. There are a lot of other good options. Thank you for the comment and the view!

      There’s no need to. As great as this paddle is, you surely can play just as well with sub 160 dollars paddles. More comes down to brand, the extra 10 percent you do get with this paddle, and if money isnt the driving factor.
