    Love your video, love your elegant voice. I’m struggling to use this concealer because my skin has become really dry and my under eyes do crease a lot. Your review helped me to understand the product a bit better. ❤️🙏🏾

    I got a pretty light color in the Pat McGrath concealer and I like it! It layer down really nice with minimal creasing! Mine does have a pink undertone. I didn’t want to like it because of the price but I do.

      I'm so glad it's working out for you! I ended up testing it against another concealer I got a sample of (which will be part of another video next week) and I'm still torn. The Pat has good coverage, but it can look drying - though it doesn't feel drying. At a certain point, I feel like I have to choose between coverage and a drying look.

    Great video (even though I’m coming to it a bit late). In UK we can’t return any cosmetic products so I have loads of high end and drugstore concealers (and foundations are another love of mine!) literally hundreds maybe thousands of £’s worth. I enjoy makeup, so I find videos like yours very helpful. I shall be subscribing to see more great content. Wishing you all the very best Nicci 😊

    I struggle with tear troughs as well but I apply my concealer under the tear troughs almost on the very top of the cheek and work it up, to me it makes all the difference and covers the darkness much better and of course tap slightly with my holy grail Hourglass powder which leaves my under eyes still looking hydrated. Tear troughs are the worst but I’m to afraid to get them filled in.

    Thank you for your typical detailed, in depth review! I think it did look good on you. Can you give us an update as it's been 5 months. Ha, had to chuckle when you use your ventriloquist's voice, "I think my foundation is looking really yellow today". "It creased in my trough" ha, you're so cute. I can relate though! We're calling a spade a spade. I never use just one concealer. For what it's worth to anyone, I normally go in with a lighter shade to brighten after I do the "base" concealer. IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination Full Coverage Concealer - the tiniest, tiniest amount, helps to brighten. It's quite tacky, so put on the back of your hand first. First Aid Beauty Bendy Avocado Concealer in Bone is another I use as the "brightening" shade. Keep in mind that I also add a bit of undereye balm between, due to these dang'ed dry undereyes. I never just apply a concealer and leave it. Always tap a little balm after; no concealer is ever hydrating enough! Concealers can be creamy without being hydrating. At this age, I have a number of concealers, so it's never a matter of "who wants to spend that on concealer", ha. Anyone try the Selena Gomez Rare Beauty concealer brush? I think you'd like it because it has a nice shape that goes right up into the tiniest spaces.

    • @TheHoodedLid
      @TheHoodedLid  3 года назад

      I have the Pat McGrath concealer brush which he Selena looks...umm...very similar to - lol. What balm do you use under the eyes? Lately, I've been using a lighter shade toward the inner corner and a more skin like shade on outer 3rd and work them together at the "seam." But, you know, every day is different. I DO like the way Kosas looks, but the color is just too yellow.

      @@TheHoodedLid I have been using Kopari Starry Eye Balm. I like the consistency. Bobbi Brown Extra Eye balm is of course the Bomb! On a side note, did you end up continuing to use the PAT McGRATH concealer? Wondering if should try it out. Why not add it to my other 1,018 concealers, ha.

      @@MV-nn7wu I ended up returning it - it didn't strike me as any better than anything I own. And I think the color was a little off for me as I recall. I'm using the By Terry more often these days. I'll check out the Kopari - maybe Sephora has it

    I use dermablend setting powder all over my face before any concealer then set with dermablend setting powder. And last a spritz of tatcha setting spray. But its a must for me to use a beauty blender for all application. To absorb any excess product due to fine lines. I try to use very minimal product near my under eyes. A dot or two of concealer. Hope this helps anyone😉

  • @swedishlina

    I am so glad you tried this one as I am really interested in trying this one, but since it comes in so many colours I will wait until I can play with in store. We can’t return any products for any reasons. If you are looking for a dupe for the brush, Zoeva has one called rose gold vol2 146 perfect concealer brush or something similar to that. I don’t have the troughs but I do have the fine lines. I have been thinking of trying the powder that comes with it. I really love the eye look you were wearing on the third day, all the different colours worked so well together. Stay safe and sane and lots of love from downunder 😘

    • @TheHoodedLid
      @TheHoodedLid  4 года назад +3

      Yes, something I recommend trying in store, for sure. Not only are the colors odd, if you put on too much you'll get great coverage, but it can look drying. But it never feels drying. Strange. Things are opening up here a bit, and yet I'm seeing more people wearing masks - which is encouraging!

    hi, i was wondering if the microneedling has improved your undereye puffs? i'm working on my upper eyes puffs, it is a very slow process. thank you for your presence on youtube so many think they have hooded lids...but just don't!!

    • @TheHoodedLid
      @TheHoodedLid  4 года назад

      I totally agree about the hooded lid situation - and there are many kinds of hooded lids, what works on one kind will not always work on another! Under the eyes is so hard. Some days it seems like there's less puffiness under one of my eyes and I'm not sure if that's about the mirconeedle or not. I'm committed to do this for some time though, I expect and progress will be slow since I'm no spring chicken! It's funny you should ask, because recently I've been flirting with the idea of having the fat removed if I don't see the kind of results I'm hoping for in four months or so.

    I don’t use concealer. I just hate the way multiple layers of anything feel on my face. I’d rather see red (I have rosacea) and purple peeking through than to have layers of makeup on my face. It does look nice in pictures though. ☺️

    • @TheHoodedLid
      @TheHoodedLid  4 года назад +1

      I'm kinda all over the place. I'm using the Laura Mercier, but it's too light, so sometimes I'll mix it with something else. I've also gone back to the Armani. I may do a video on all my concealers and what I like and don't like about them. As for HG - I'm still looking! I hope it exists! I will say, I recently got a sample of MUFE HD concealer and that's something I may look into when stores are open again. Video up on that one next week!

    I think your under eyes look best without the concealer. Or if you do concealer don’t add to the puffy area. Only add right under eye, so you don’t draw attention to the puffiness.
