    I use the Kevyn Aucoin as a 'corrector' and then use a tiny, very light layer of pat mcgrath on top. It gives me the full coverage I want/need and gives me longevity too.

    Pat McGrath one enhances my texture. I dont think it’s great for over 40 eyes in my opinion. The best for over 40 in my opinion is the new dermablend one.

    This is perfect timing for this comparison as I have the PM concealer and powder in my Sephora cart! I am a little lighter skintone than you and I had LM14 in my cart, because it has olive undertones, but now I'm thinking it will be too dark. I wear 2WO in Dior foundation, but I do have dark undereye circles and color correct with the Bobbi Brown peach corrector. Thinking I should go with the LM11 too. Thanks so much!

    Pat McGrath didn’t work on my dry skin the formula is wayyy too dry and it contains so much alcohol which makes your skin dryer. It looks great on you though!

    Hi Sarah,
    ❤elanie here, btw: thats melanie, with my signature ❤that replaces the M in my name, any hu...
    This was so fun and exciting to watch..What do you think of a CONCEALER SHOW DOWN !!!!SINCE U DID THIS ONE WITH ur Pat Magrath and Hourglass and the PM won today why don't you keep testing it till it completely WINS, the showdown or gets knocked off its winner status??? Like maybe you could Do, Pat Magrath and that new Sisley $109 dollar concealer next..or any of ur choice, but me personally as I beeged in a previous comment would love,love, love 2 C the Sisiley on you and have your expertise give it a go !!
    BTW: just when I thought you couldn't be any more beautiful than u already are, OMG that minute in ur car in daylight...girl u are so blessed in the gorgeous department, and yet your dark circles are real and u make them really gone, and that my dear is why I trust u my concealer fairy 🧚‍♀️
    Stay safe and well, and all those you love as well,much love @u

    I agree that the KA skin enhancer being difficult and hard to work with, mine creases like crazy. The only way I can make it work is to mix a tiny drop of oil with it and I found it helps a lot.

    Could you do a comparison of all the correctors that you’ve tried. Also both concealers look great on you. More to add to my Sephora cart. But it’s just the shades I’m confused on. Any ideas of something similar to Nars custard in shade?

    I bought the Pat McGrath concealer it is full coverage but wears off during the day and I can see my dark concealers after a few hours,I have to add another concealer to stop it from happening but then I get creasing and plus I use the becca under eye corrector everyday 😖

    I haven’t tried either of these despite them being holy grails - I’m afraid of dryness, since everything is dry on me - I thought Pat McGrath would be drying because it has alcohol - how do they compare to Boing Cakeless? That one covers well but is not Cakeless and looks bad on me after a while. Ironically it’s never been harder for me to find a holy grail, despite there being so many more choices than years ago - that’s what aging skin has done to me 😢

    • @kym97

      I don’t recommend you the Hourglass concealer if you have dry under eyes. I used it for a month in different ways and it didn’t suit my dark, dry under eyes, I don’t understand the hype around Hourglass !!! It becomes cakey and dark. The one I’m using now is Dior forever skin correct and I’m quite satisfied with it, there’s a video by Sarah on it. And it’s important to use a good eye cream under your concealer, i use Bobbie Brown Extra repair eye cream.

    • @wendyraye
      @wendyraye 4 года назад

      kym97 thanks - I actually use that eye cream too! I let it sink in while I drive to work - regular eye cream and oil just doesn’t cut it - never had this problem until fairly recently and I hate it. Good to know I’ll be skipping it - I’m so used to watching videos (not this one) where they list good concealers for mature dry under eyes and usually 5 out of 6 I know are dry on me, so I use that as a gauge. I’ve heard good things about the one you mentioned - I’m curious about Sheisedo synchro skin concealer - I noticed the first ingredient isn’t water, so I’m curious - but Tarte Creaseless doesn’t have water at all I think - people hate it for being thick and wet, but the website recommends ONE DOT, and they’re not kidding - when I see people swipe on a ton I cringe.

      @@wendyraye do you like the ceaseless concealer? I have the exact same problem as you. It's so frustrating when every website I go to that lists best concealer for dry undereyes always lists Tarte shape tape(and not even the creamy one) ,maybelline Fit me or the one with the sponge, etc. I can't use any of them and don't see how anyone could say they are hydrating. If you have any advice please tell me

    • @wendyraye
      @wendyraye 2 года назад

      @@ashleybullard1285 how can such a small area on the face cause so many problems? I do like the Creaseless - it never fully dries down, which bothers some people, and I think if you use too much it will look cakey, creasy, but you literally need a dot or two - think of it as a liquid solid - I don’t believe there’s water in it. I probably go overboard with eye creams and oils, doing multiple layers, and sometimes I blot the extra oil before putting it on and sometimes I don’t. My biggest advice, if it’s “valid” or not, is look for an eye cream with similar ingredients so they don’t repel each other - for example I really like Bobbi Brown corrector in the pot - despite people saying the new stick one is more hydrating I disagree (I wanted to try it before I answered you) - it emphasizes my lines - the pot corrector has petrolatum so I use the extra repair eye cream which has that as the second ingredient - it brightens and covers enough that 90% of the time that’s all I use (less layers the better), and set with Hourglass ambient in ethereal light (again, powders marketed as under eye brighteners, like Laura Mercier, only accentuate and draw attention to the wrinkles with glittery sparkles, even showing ones I never see). If the corrector just isn’t enough I put a dot of Creaseless in the inner corner area for extra brightness without being overly light, which I think makes me look older in a way too. I definitely play around with formulas, and if I’m extra dull I mix the Tarte Glow Wand with the Creaseless on the back of my hard and dot it on. I’m to the point where as long as I’m brightened and don’t look like a zombie I’m ok that they’re not 100% obliterated. My second advice is to find a benchmark and ask people if XYZ is drier than that - in some instances I’m the exact opposite of their recommendations, like they said the stick corrector was better, I disagree, that Charlotte Tilbury corrector is more emollient than Bobbi Brown (to me the CT is really dry), so after several opposite reactions I take that into major consideration too. I felt like such the oddball for thinking NARS radiant was dry, but I’m not alone. My third advice is Google sexy under eye circles - you would be amazed at how many people actually look good - gives them character and makes them “them” - I take my finger and cover up the circles and it’s true they don’t look like themselves - I think it can add a mysterious element that isn’t that bad. Years ago when everyone was doing full glam matte makeup, Wayne Goss did a video of how to stand out and look beautiful - his advice was to see what everyone else was doing and do the opposite - at the time, because of the trend, it was wearing less makeup and looking more natural, but now that “no makeup makeup” is the trend (I can’t do it, feel like I look tired and sick), but you don’t want to go back to full coverage matte makeup, there are only so many things you can do to go against the grain - for me it’s showing circles once in a while, or enhancing my rounder eyes and not going for the Fox eye trend - I wear taupey color as eyeliner on the bottom (not in the waterline and not super thin line either) despite them saying it drags your eyes down - maybe so, but to me they’re rounder, therefore bigger, so I don’t care what they say about eyeliner on the bottom. It also hides some of the wrinkles directly underneath my eyes by blurring them out. I hope this long answer helps, even a little, because nothing is worse then throwing money away by looking for your holy grail. Swatch them on wrinkly parts on the back or your hand/wrist, that moves around, and you can see the dry down and “creasing” too.

      @@wendyraye you are the sweetest! Thank you so much for such a thoughtful answer! I think I'm going to get the small size in the tarte creaseless and I have been wondering about the glow wand. I almost bought the package that has the small glow wand and original shape tape because I was hoping g it would make it more hydrating. I want something that's full coverage so I don't have to use alot. I absolutely love the NYX serum concealer but I have to use quite a bit because it's light medium coverage. It looks beautiful but you can still see my blue vein and it worries me to put soo much product on an area with such thin skin. I also have been wanting to try the Hourglass ambient powder but I didn't know it can go under the eye I love that idea! It just seems that there is no perfect concealer and yes I hate the Nars concealer it's so drying and I don't know why everyone loves the Laura Mercier translucent powder(not the undereye one) . It looks absolutely horrible- I have drugstore powders that are better. I also am tired of wasting money on skincare that doesn't work and recently found the youtuber Brianna Stanko. She says only medical grade skincare gives results and although its expensive i want to try it because if it works then ill stop wasting money and itll be worth it to me. Thank you so much for the advice.
