- How can something with such an awesome (for 1999 standards) opening - high animation quality, crisp and beautiful art, exceptional theme song from Yuko Sasaki - turn out to be such an utter piece of crap?

Omg 90s/early 00s anime theme songs and their accompany videos were crazy catchy. Will always have a special place in my heart.
The opening theme is much better than the actual series.

I am pleasantly surprised that that comment speak true...the opening and music to this anime was worlds better than the anime itself.

Kouki Oyagi 今のアニメよりも、この頃のセル画アニメ絵の方が大好きです。今のアニメは塗りが薄いと言うか物足り無いです。原作では良かったのにアニメ版ではガッカリみたいな。個人の好みの問題ですが、自分は90年代中期～2000年代初期の頃のアニメ絵が好きです。もちろん、声優さんも今より前の方が好きです。
デジタルとセル、それぞれの良さがあると思う
細かく書き込まれていて美麗に仕上げられた最近の作画、少ない線ながら洗練されていて温かみも感じる昔の作画、僕はどちらもとても好きです

yeah I totally agree, the anime was so-so (not that bad... not THAT good either) but the theme song is still one of my favorite until now ! (and the OP is really good !)

Belated reply, but yes this was essentially the very tail end of traditional animation. By mid-2000 they were mostly switched over to the early digimation techniques. (Which look awful and haven't aged well, but I digress...) Turn-A Gundam was one of the very last traditionally animated series, running to fall 2000. Gundam Seed that came out 18 months later was definitely using CG techniques.
Haven't watched this in a long time!I remembered buying the DVD box set.1 of the earlier Isekai anime.Found it alright but some bits of the story seemed rushed if I remembered it right.Might have to dig this up from my storeroom to be sure.. 😅

Great opening, but mediocre anime. But it was released during the last years of anime's "Golden Era". If it was released now with along side those crappy looking computer assisted anime shows we have now this would be more of a hit. 100% Hand drawn, cel shaded anime is more beautiful than computer assisted shaded anime.

Tanto la canción como el op superan a muchas series actuales pero el anime en sí es muy malo
The thing that bothers me the most is the crappy animation in the series. I can deal with a lot if it is pretty. But it was awful and ugly. So instead I just rewatch the opening and ignore the rest.
Esa serie es malísima, lo único bueno que tiene es el opening y el ending, de resto es bazofia, no aguante ni 5 minutos del primer capítulo
