There's something unmistakably 90s about the (thematic) tone of this opening. It uses with heart imagery and tropes that are used nearly always mechanically or ironically now. 'Tis sad what anime has become. 80s & 90s anime forever!

This is my favorite season. Maybe because xellos got more time or we got to know him and his past here. Now I remember how I loved him so much back then and shipped him with filia XD

slayers has a very simple formular. every season has 2 bosses. One for the first half, a big boss for the secound. What I love about the openings is, that they show you the whole seasons plot and shows the big boss right in the middle, but because it is cut to cut to cut, you barely notice that ever.
Fun Fact: This song is partially based on Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin, if you compare both the acoustic guitars at the beginning and end of each song you would notice a similar pattern between the two of them.

Takes me back , 2003 when I first got into the slayers , it was the try series and I bought the first 3 videos and the last one , had to wait till I got the dvd box set to finish their series.
This opening sequence just takes me back to watching Slayers and Dragon Ball GT on the International Channel before or after airings of HEY HEY HEY Music Champ
Actually he never was and never will be "with the group". He explained this in Ep 12 or 13 of Slayers TRY, before the duel with Valgaav. If Zellas Metallium would order him to kill Lina and other, he would do it. People tend to forget that he is a damn mazooku, he doesn't have any feelings and for sure he lacks empathy. Don't Forget he had no problem in kicking Lina ass in TRY finale episodes, just as he had no problem in trying to convince Valgaav to mazooku side.
This brings me back to a time when downloading whole anime was absolutely unreasonable, but you could pool all your internet time together to download one opening...
Throughout not just the openings but random spots throughout the episodes you'll see a quick flash. If you slow it down and pause on those flashes you get funny hidden jokes. I sorta remember one hidden image was of Gourry as a mermaid in reference to a certain episode. Slayers, Slayers NEXT, and Slayers TRY has them... I don't believe the two newer seasons have the hidden images.
Slayers is better than fairy tail in almost everything, history, magical powers, character development, world building, less in soundtracks, animation, Fanservice and nakama power.

Megumi Hayashibara voice so damn pleasant for my ears. And seeing Xellos smilling is killing it. I love both breeze and give me a reason equally. I really enjoyed Darkstar season because Xellos and Light weapons. I still want to see 2 arc dedicating to exploit the other 2 maou and their world. Chaotic Blue & Death Fog.
Mmm, no... Besides, what a remake do will probably pale in comparison of what the original did. (Just look at 1999 HxH and 2011 HxH.) If anything, I want a new anime to have like new plots and adventures. Maybe, adapting some stories from the Light Novels too. I THINK that I did heard a little while ago that there's been talks of a new Slayers anime but who knows.
I really like the slayers anime and this opening of the third season, but why is lina so afraid of her older sister luna? I've seen her sister from the second season opening and I remember watching a episode of slayers try when she just panicked from a letter sent to her by her sister that said,"shut up and do it,signed sis"and built a pyramid in seconds and her reaction at 0:55 in this opening too.

Honestly Groove Adventure Rave is better than Fairy Tail, but Mashima decided “maybe I’ll get more money copying One Piece...” and he was unfortunately right.

Megumi Hayashibara voice so damn pleasant for my ears. And seeing Xellos smilling is killing it. I love both breeze and give me a reason equally. I really enjoyed Darkstar season because Xellos and Light weapons. I still want to see 2 arc dedicating to exploit the other 2 maou and their world. Chaotic Blue & Death Fog.

Mmm, no... Besides, what a remake do will probably pale in comparison of what the original did. (Just look at 1999 HxH and 2011 HxH.) If anything, I want a new anime to have like new plots and adventures. Maybe, adapting some stories from the Light Novels too.
I THINK that I did heard a little while ago that there's been talks of a new Slayers anime but who knows.

I really like the slayers anime and this opening of the third season, but why is lina so afraid of her older sister luna? I've seen her sister from the second season opening and I remember watching a episode of slayers try when she just panicked from a letter sent to her by her sister that said,"shut up and do it,signed sis"and built a pyramid in seconds and her reaction at 0:55 in this opening too.
