Winning against a new top 15 newcomer who's dry and sick shouldn't deserve a title shot i agree but being Dustin Poirier in itself is deserving of a title shot.

Islam isn't immune to making mistakes, we are at the top of what we can get out of MMA. It only takes one shot and Dustin has a clear chance of getting the belt if they do face each other.
But as you said, considering how bullied he got against a tired and deshydrated Benoit Saint-denis on the ground (Granted Saint-Denis may be one of the most aggressive grappler of the division with Islam) i'd say Islam will take him out really quickly if he gets taken to the ground.
