Their standards are for others and they are exempt because they are also the Judge. That's why Akoya acts like cosmo didn't even say anything and just leaves. He can not process it. Then he just leaves.
Oda has spun a web of characters that are destined to lose only to specific characters soo they're unbeatable until then. Like mihawk belongs to zoro and shanks gonna get those cheeks spread by blackbeard. Akinu belongs to Sabo. And imu Sama and the gorisei will meet their end to God usopp
What's funny about this is that if Akoya hadn't been so sadistic, he'd have won this match at several different points. He really was his own undoing and was absolutely the better fighter.
If it weren’t for akoya cheating with the lady on comms, he would’ve been choked out early on in the match and lost. He cheated and still lost, he is by no means better

I love how determined Cosmo is. He's an absolute prodigy, but he still has flaws as a fighter. After this fight, he's still willing to fight Long Min even though he was supposed to be in a wheelchair and then went on to beat a sparing match with Okubo and then go the distance against Ohma. Hell, even now, Cosmo lost to Saw Paing recently because of how unpredictably predictable Saw Paing was
2 reasons Akoya would've won if he hadn't wasted his time torturing Cosmo: 1, Cosmo wanted to surrender, but Akoya covered his mouth. 2, when Cosmo lost consciousness, Akoya woke him back up.

One of the most brutal moments in the show imo is justice boy breaking Cosmos rib and also Julius using Watasukis face as sandpaper. Theres prob more but I always remember this and now the Julius moment lol hopefully raian ripping that Wu guy in half will be animated one day😬👌🏿

This might honestly still be my favorite fight, there's so many incredible fights it's hard to even say but none others ever leave you feeling so scared for the fate of a very likeable character, and none of the other comebacks are as satisfying.

Cosmo is a genius and great character to promote Juijutsu or Brazil Juijutsu! Akoya is a dark horse/crazy character, but it is interesting and intense when he fights . Anyone watch this fight while running treadmill? This always help keep the blood flow and adrenaline going at the gym!
Honestly out of all fights thie season this was my favorite, brute strength isnt always the way. Grappling experts are scary to fight and the speed just makes it worse.

As someone who hasn't seen the full show, is Akoya allowed to be recieving outside advice? I assume so, because Ohma's sponsor shouts advice to him on several instances, but that doesnt seem near as integral to Ohma's style as Akoya's sponsor does to his style
This whole fight was amazing but also WHY WHY would you allow cosmo to get a single chance that’s why he lost also that eye shoot was perfect as in most grappling sports you must get behind your opponent for the best chance how can you defend if you can’t see them also if akoyo had hit that red his chances would have been zero

Akoya is a murderous psychopath who always uses lethal force against anyone he deems a criminal. The girl giving him instruction is her way of making sure Akoya could win without killing anyone. She is a limiter that keeps him in check. You saw how unhinged Akoya was when he was torturing Cosmo, it's as if he was an inquisitor torturing a witch.

This was a painful fight. This show is so amazing. Honestly the best anime that is about mma. I love Baki, Baki is awesome, but if it’s about pure fighting scenes Kengan Ashura is too good.
Akoya is arguably one of the best and most skillful fighters in this, a real monster , but he lets his ego get to him and completely screws up his chance, he coulda won in the beginning but he wanted to play with his food

Probably the only fight I had a problem with in the whole anime. The injuries Cosmo took were too great. There was just no way he was going to get out of it. Yes, he was driven by the will to win but that can't be enough when you have broken ribs and all.

Probably the only fight I had a problem with in the whole anime. The injuries Cosmo took were too great. There was just no way he was going to get out of it. Yes, he was driven by the will to win but that can't be enough when you have broken ribs and all.
