At 12:56 Cosmo is also going for a groin shot in addition to the bite, this is why Akoya retreats. We had it in our notes to film it but we totally skipped it. That's my bad as a producer/director. However, here is an official written breakdown from Chad Vázquez: “In the case of Cosmo vs Akoya, we have Akoya mounting Cosmo. It’s here, that the team and myself missed (our bad), that Cosmo makes an attempt to grab or attack Akoya’s groin. Now, simply grabbing the groin is an ineffective strategy. If Cosmo did grab the groin, Akoya could move forward to elbowing Cosmo’s face to stop him. However, Cosmo is strong enough to generate enough force to not grab, but attack Akoya’s groined in that position and Akoya was smart enough to evade. Therefore, that’s a valid tactic on Cosmo’s part. But, In a real life situation, a groin shot from that position won’t be effective because if we grab, we get elbowed and if we attack, we won’t be able generate enough force like Cosmo to be effective. Overall, Groin attacks are a bit of a complicated topic in self-defense/martial arts. My personal opinion would be they’re a useful tactic standing and using your knee. Using a knee to the groin is quick and you could disengage to something else. However on the ground, I don’t think it’s a super high percentage strategy. The ground fight is complex and extending your hand to grabs someone’s groin can leave your face exposed to some serious strikes. They’re better techniques and strategies that don’t rely on groin attacks. Those are my quick thoughts on the topic.” With all that being said, please share this video with as many people as possible. We really want a Kengan Ashura Season 3 and we need to show Netflix, this series is popular enough for one.

There is a tarkov raid series and in one of the episodes they have a really cool bathroom fight scene between the 2 characters. I believe its the second to last episode in the youtube series.
I love Akoya for his ruthlessness when he goes Justice Mode, but it's also his biggest downfall as a fighter, he could've won against Cosmo, but decided to execute justice by torturing the poor boy.
Akoya be like “justice served” after beating 7 children to death with a parking meter that he pulled from the ground because they were sharing snacks when the teacher said “no sharing meals”.
The thumb to the ribs at 8:03 is an actual technique I have long since forgotten the name of lol, anyway what he was doing was separating the ribs with his thumb by driving it into the muscles inbetween the ribs, which if you have ever had a spasm in theses muscles you will have an idea of the kind of pain tge actual technique causes, it's part of a bunch of different martial arts, so narrowing it down is hard but some of them are shoalin kungfu, wushu, goju Ryu karate, and ninjitsu, it's also part the pressure point system. Bizarre technique but massively effective if you have the hand strength. It's a kin to setting the liver off, instant overwhelming fear, and pain, with if your a real sick puppy an easy way to break the rib at the sternum or back to use to puncture the lung.
I believe it’s called the intercostal space or the interspace for short and yes not comfortable feels like some sort of creature trying to imbed it’s self in you or something lol
That thumb move can actually be used but it's fairly impractical due to being both hard to land efficiently and that ones fingers must be extremely well conditioned. But it can be done.
I mean it's in the ribs, with enough force and well trained finger, hitting in soft tissue between the ribs could go through 🤷🏻♂️ would be a crazy story 😂🤣
Fun fact the creators of the manga are actually pro fighters themselves that is why I appreciate it so much its not just random kicking and fighting they know what they're doing
Yes! Mad respect to the creators. Same with the creator of Attack on Titan, Hajime Isayama. We also did a breakdown on that anime for you to enjoy: ruclips.net/video/p_Gg5vgamxI/видео.html
Technically Akoya wasn't stabbing Cosmo with his thumb at 7:50, he was individually breaking his ribs. Still *really* bad though. Also the forearm muscle wasn't just to panic Cosmo, but to cover his mouth to prevent him from surrendering in the match. Cosmo *might have had the grip strength to crush Akoya's testicles too, given that he's primarily a grappler. .
I love these breakdowns. They’re very in-depth and descriptive. But I think one thing that’s unavoidable when you start talking about options or alternative moves that either fighter could’ve done is the size and weight difference between the two fighters. As great as some of the alternative take downs were, I can’t see Cosmo being able to do some of them to Akyoa.
That's a great point but I still think the options are good for people who are generally into fighting to see these options broken down as well. But yeah cosmo isn't pulling off a lot against someone his size.
9:53 yes there is a muffle happening. Akoya is abusing one of if not THE most broken rule of the kengan tournament. The fight ends if someone dies, is knocked out for a considerable amount of time, or gives up by either verbally quitting or tapping out. Now Akoya has Cosmos arms/hands locked down so he cannot tap out. He has muffled him because Cosmo was about to verbally quit and thus the ref would stop the fight. Akoya is now torturing Cosmo, this is not a fight anymore. Cosmo at one point passes out and Akoya immediately breaks the next rib to wake him back up which again keeps the fight on. The ref cannot do ANYTHING at this point. Cosmo is awake, Cosmo cannot tap out or say he quits. Akoya intends to methodically break every single rib while also tearing the muscle between each set of ribs before ending the fight in one way or another. It is absurdly brutal and a completely broken rule system
Before knowing MMA, those kind of scenes did nothing to me. But, I don't know why, after getting into it, any injury in a film or match freak me out. It's like I can feel it.
for some reason the fight in dbz are most some martial art movie are just cool to me but when it's mma or free fight it just scare me. I'm like thank god I'm not in his situation

I need you to break down the anime "Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple". It's about a man that doesn't have any talent in martial arts but was forced to train martial arts because he needs to beat one of his fellow club member in the karate club or he will be forced to quit the club. He is training different kinds of martial arts.
Best part about that anime/manga is that even thought it takes its martial arts into the fantastical elements, there is a sense of the foundations used in the actual martial arts just taken to anime levels of power
Awesome breakdown as always, I especially appreciate the dedication you guys have to showing and explaining the fundamentals and basics of the fight like something as simple as checking kicks. The show glosses over it as common knowledge, but you guys take the time to explain what a kick check is and why it’s important among other things.
One thing I wanted to point out is how the second time Cosmo went for the rear naked choke he actually used his legs to immobilize his opponents arms, preventing getting hurt by his opponents grips strength like the first time he tried the choke
Yes! We can't wait for Season 3 to happen. Hopefully our breakdowns popularize the series enough for Netflix to expedite the process of it. There's so many good fights in the manga that need to be animated.
leg kicks can be so double edged, as shown by the recent weidman vs hall, gruesome ending. Maybe Cosmo didn't go for the armbar coz akoya's arm were as thick as a tree trunk and he chose the other route for a higher chance of submission? just my 2 cents.
Yeah, seeing that rib breaking part was hard to watch. I almost couldn't get past that part of the episode Edit: One thing that was overlooked. Cosmo biting Akoya didn't get him off, it just gave Cosmo enough space to go for Akoya's balls and that made Akoya get off him. It was the dirty fighting that helped Cosmo at that point and later into the fight.
Logan could do a breakdown of Samurai Champloo fight since he loves swords fight . I think you will have a really good time breaking down. You could also do Cowboy Beepbop breakdowns
Guys, when Akoya uses his thumb into Cosmo's side it's only to inflict pain, not to end the fight as one would do with a knife! Although pain could definitely end it. He's jabbing his thumb into the intercostal muscle, which is excruciatingly painful! You probably already knew that, but since it's not specified I thought I'd try to help!
Well at the power level that this people work at, is likely that Akoya was aiming to break one of Cosmo's ribs and turning it inwards.... i mean he is known for being a psychotic murder machine....
@@JR_22A True, Akoya is stupidly strong, but breaking the rib with his thumb simply wouldn't work, ribs are a lot more durable than a finger. He'd only smash his own thumb! Which is why I'm pretty sure he's actually going between the ribs there, intercostal muscle strikes. It also works with him being a psycho, seeing as his goal here is to torture Cosmo, show him justice and all that.
@@LordTyrannide May i remind you that Akoya can snap peoples necks with a hand, that guy was almost decapitated, Cosmo is no slouch but he isn't a tank. I would normally agree that is impossible to break someones rib with a finger, but we are talking people that can punch through concrete like nothing

Honor to have you comment on our channel. I agree, Akoya could have won this if he didn't toy with Cosmo imo.
@@ScenicFights Oh my friend, I'm an absolute nobody, it's an honor to have you reply.
Reminds me of Shao Khan
Akoya be like “justice served” after beating 7 children to death with a parking meter that he pulled from the ground because they were sharing snacks when the teacher said “no sharing meals”.
Bro just saw u at vinland saga op xD
I honestly don't know why this channel isn't getting more praise. Your content is phenomenal and I thoroughly enjoy these breakdowns.
Why is no one else talking about Chad’s newly revealed muffle kink 😂
lmao that Chad smile at 10:01 is mad sus.

@@queendio7520 I was just joking don't worry
@@aronnemcsik i know i know 😂
The thumb to the ribs at 8:03 is an actual technique I have long since forgotten the name of lol, anyway what he was doing was separating the ribs with his thumb by driving it into the muscles inbetween the ribs, which if you have ever had a spasm in theses muscles you will have an idea of the kind of pain tge actual technique causes, it's part of a bunch of different martial arts, so narrowing it down is hard but some of them are shoalin kungfu, wushu, goju Ryu karate, and ninjitsu, it's also part the pressure point system.
That takes Beard level mastery to accomplish 😉
I mean it's in the ribs, with enough force and well trained finger, hitting in soft tissue between the ribs could go through 🤷🏻♂️ would be a crazy story 😂🤣
"very close to my prostrate..."
Logan's thought: I still remember when that part got nearer than I imagined.
Logan's face: 2:51
Lmao is very familiar with that area after the Cosmo vs Dudley fight breakdown: ruclips.net/video/lDzZPA8XRgY/видео.html
Akoya is such a psycho. Everyone would sh*ts their pants facing hin in combat.
Except Nicolas
@@loudelanimates6000 nicolas is a psycho too, different kind of psycho of course
@@loudelanimates6000 True.
Dude looks like Kazuya
How about kuroki?
Thank you Duwang for the comment! We will have a team chat to make sure we incorporate weight classes more when doing alternative and options.
Ya, im thinking abt this as well
That's a great point but I still think the options are good for people who are generally into fighting to see these options broken down as well. But yeah cosmo isn't pulling off a lot against someone his size.
Yeah there no way he tripping akoya also if akoya collapse his body weight on cosmo and lay there cosmos would be paralyzed lol
@@ScenicFights naw having those possibilities are interesting just keep it lol but just say what if lol
If part 3 of Kengan Ashura ever comes out, you guys have got to do Gaolang Wongsawat vs Kanoh Agito! It's such an awesome fight.
We cannot wait for that fight scene to be animated. It's amazing.
Naw tiger versus super heavy weight jacked guy where he sends guy flying and wall smashing like baki level feats
I hate to have laughed when Logan actually choked when Chad was demonstrating those chokes
Akoya is a crazy, but awesome.
@@ScenicFights akoya is an absolute monster, I love his character lol
The unique battle that make feel pain and get dizzy in the same time, but i love to see it again and again cuz it's REALLY GOOOOOD
Before knowing MMA, those kind of scenes did nothing to me. But, I don't know why, after getting into it, any injury in a film or match freak me out.
It's like I can feel it.
The knowledge of the real world application puts the injuries in perspective.
for some reason the fight in dbz are most some martial art movie are just cool to me but when it's mma or free fight it just scare me. I'm like thank god I'm not in his situation
Well yeah if u prepare dish out pain people you gotta prepare for some case scenarios on yourself worst possibilities
You should check out anime man interview with real ex yakuza the most wild story was gang with katana butchering in china those there gangs with machete etc I think south america gang do that too so on
This was the one I've been waiting for
This was probably the most on edge fight of the show so far
@@ScenicFights can you please do Saw Paing vs Karo? That fight was what inspired to get into the world martial arts. Although it's not the most realistic fight like this one, I'd love to see your opinion on it
I need you to break down the anime "Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple".
Skip over Kensei Ma's training though 🤣
logan when doing MMA vids: "ragdoll time..."
Awesome breakdown as always, I especially appreciate the dedication you guys have to showing and explaining the fundamentals and basics of the fight like something as simple as checking kicks. The show glosses over it as common knowledge, but you guys take the time to explain what a kick check is and why it’s important among other things.
You'd definitely enjoy covering Cosmo vs Ohma, it's literally a grappling bonanza
We need Kengan Ashura Season 3! Hopefully Netflix sees our breakdowns and realize their is a huge audience for more Kengan anime.
@@ScenicFights they seem to be taking their time making it. season two took awhile before it came out. Can’t wait for season 3
It would be cool to see a breakdown of one of the most underrated fights in KA, Himuro Ryo vs Kaneda Suekichi
I just went and watched that Silva leg break, holy shit
Why do you do that to yourself haha.
One thing I wanted to point out is how the second time Cosmo went for the rear naked choke he actually used his legs to immobilize his opponents arms, preventing getting hurt by his opponents grips strength like the first time he tried the choke
This fight made me feel in love with MMA so I'm so glad u guys did the break down

Yes! We can't wait for Season 3 to happen. Hopefully our breakdowns popularize the series enough for Netflix to expedite the process of it. There's so many good fights in the manga that need to be animated.
Ohma vs Cosmo will be so lit🔥🔥🔥
What u mean by 30 minutes more
Egg Man premier
leg kicks can be so double edged, as shown by the recent weidman vs hall, gruesome ending. Maybe Cosmo didn't go for the armbar coz akoya's arm were as thick as a tree trunk and he chose the other route for a higher chance of submission? just my 2 cents.
Yeah, seeing that rib breaking part was hard to watch. I almost couldn't get past that part of the episode
Edit: One thing that was overlooked.
@@JR_22A True, true, I've overlooked this little detail.
