After a little over a year of wanting to play the piano I finally have enough money to buy my very first piano and I've been watching this channel waaay before that so I just wanna take some time to thank everyone responsible for this channel you all have been a great help to all the beginners out there :')
Good luck!
Good for you! Buying your own piano and studying! The urge will take you far!
I just got my first keyboard today! I hope you're having fun with your piano!
Same with me.. I am waiting for 40 years to have a piano..and finally I bought for my daughter yesterday!
Im 69 years old and i like to play the piano as the first time that i can to buy my first piano.
I just wanted to say how much i appreciate your channel and especially (!) the beginner lessons with Lisa.
I am 41 years old and just starting to learn, so i browsed dozens of lessons on youtube, but it never "clicked" - until i stumbled upon Lisa.
I think she is hands down the best and most inspiring online teacher there is. Period.
The choice of material and how she presents it makes it fun to play and keep practising, and in the end that´s most important if you want to improve, isn´t it?
So a big thank you from me and keep up the great work!
Lisa is just a STAR! She has such a great way of teaching and explain to make "whatever" less complex.
You're simply the best, Lisa! I'm pretty sure that Beethoven, Bach and Satie must be smiling somewhere while you keep their legacy alive by teaching their music!
Gymnopedie looks nothing on the paper yet it is such a great melody and accompaniment. I know that Satie was considered an eccentric but he sure nailed it on this one!!
Thank You! I am learning how to play piano at 58 years old. You showed me how to play Gymnopedie No. 1, a song I've always loved. THANK YOU! You made it so easy and I am having so much fun. Thank you so much for this wonderful gift of music. I am so grateful and so thankful.
I love how you put so much effort into your videos and how you understand how difficult it is to learn piano. You make piano the most fun it could ever be. You make everything very clear. You are very confident, you don't pretend that you're perfect at the piano making it look easy. Then, we go and try it and fail and get upset. I'm very glad that everything is either really cheap or free. You are amazing at teaching and you seem super nice, understanding, and smart. I'm glad I found your channel.
Lisa, I've been in many bands as a guitarist and music situation since the age of 15. I am coming to my 62nd birthday in May and have only started piano in 2010. Out of all the piano teachers I've had since as well as one on one, I've got to say that you are the best. I've gotten stuck with the octave playing on the left hand and in fact become really boring but you have opened it up to challenge myself and the way you teach I could not even start to begin to say "THANK YOU".
Nothing better than learning your keyboard at 2am. And ya kicked it off with Beethoven love it ❤
Thank you!
Thank you very much for this lesson. I'm a senior citizen, just taken up keyboard to keep my mind active during horrible Covid lock down here in England. I'll have a go at all these, special thanks for the sheet music, it's a big help.
Perfectly chosen. Perfectly devised. Perfectly taught. Exactly what I was after. Thank you so much for this
I never thought that I would like to learn classical music but these are so relaxing and beautiful how can I resist. Thank you for introducing me to something so wonderful in such a patient, encouraging way!
Many of you already know this, but since this channel caters to beginners, some of you might be confused as to why the second piece is attributed to Petzold in the description, when you’ve known for the longest time that it’s by Bach. The latter was due to its coming to prominence in a collection of pieces gifted by Bach to his second wife, Anna Magdalena. It also included pieces credited to other composers, but some, including this, had no credits. It wasn’t listed outright as Bach’s either, but that became the established conclusion. But more recent research on Petzold’s work have lead many scholars to believe it’s his. But it’s still more well known as Bach’s. In fact, the sheet music for it that’s linked to here has a Bach byline. Lisa also mentions Bach in her introduction, and this isn’t the only video I’ve seen where Petzold is in the description, but the speaker mentions Bach. Regardless of the provenance, it’s a beautifully simple piece that’s great for beginners. It was also one of the very first pieces I learned when I studied classical guitar.
Thank you for such valuable comment and information Joey! We truly appreciate it a lot!
@@ifr-ed why are you asking him to shut up lol
very cool
I had no idea, that's hella interesting. Thank you for sharing!
I always loved listening to classical music growing up. Especially driving in my Buick and listening back in the day! Brings back good memories.
I have wanted to play piano for many decades and this video lesson has suddenly brought that dream much closer thank you. It was easy to follow and brought almost instant results for a couple of my favourite tunes.
I've always dreamt of playing the piano and I knew I'd want für Elise as my first, ever since young something about that piece has always resonated with me. Today that dream came through. Thank you.
I Love classical music. It would be wonderful to see more of these tutorials on Classical pieces. You're tutorials are well done and very helpful .
Thank You ! 😊
I’m just learning how to sight read. I played by ear all my life. This is helpful. Thank you!
I really wanted to play some classical pieces but I didn’t want to get overwhelmed. Thank you for your lessons❤️
Lisa Witt, you have such a lovely presence as a teacher. It is because of your motivating wonderful teachings and lovely positive smiles that I started with Pianote 18 months ago. Bravo. Thank you. 👏❤️😊
You set the Renaissance Era mood beautifully from the soft glowing lanterns, the candelabra, the bust, the open red velvet violin case w the bow revealed and, of course, your exquisite entrance. Bravo! 👏
Finally, Classical Music for beginners, my favorite music at piano along with improvisation but not easy to find lessons like this. Fabulous lesson and content, Thank You.
For all the beginners, if you are speaking to a classical musician about a "song" then say "piece". Nowadays since the most common form of music is pop with words a lot of people use song for any music but in reality in classical music, a song means something very specific so as a general rule if theres no words just say piece. Technically music for choirs can be called pieces too so if you're in doubt use the word piece! I hope this helped some beginners because saying song is quite sensitive to us classical musicians because of respect to the composers of the past:))

Stupid
Yeah thank you for saying that
@@jordanmiles106 what?
@@benthepen3336 if it offends you when somebody calls a song a song we don’t want you in music get out

Is there any hope for a 62 year old beginner?
Of course there is! Good luck with your journey and congratulations on starting on a marvelous instrument!
Yes, there is hope for the adult beginners.
Yes. We can do it! 60 is just around the corner for me and it is coming along... slowly at first... better with practice. Hang in there! 😉
I am 62 too and want to pick up where I left off 46 years ago.I now really regret that I stopped taking lessons, but you know, teenager nonsense and all of that. 🙄I can still play, but have forgotten much of the theory.I am quite scared to try again.....but here goes nothing!😁
Hi! I'm 60 and make significant progress week for week.
Yes I do love classical. I also love the way you instruct these classical pieces, you make it lively and so much fun. Gonna go and practice now and try to learn by watching you. Thanks.
Thank you very much for doing this. Those 3 pieces are very dear to me. Especially that last one. I hope you can do another video with other pieces. Or maybe with jazz riffs. ❤️❤️❤️

I've only been playing for about three weeks. And still learning the pesky bass cleff. My background is band from high school and church choir. Never needed to know the bass cleff so this is new to me. My piano was a Christmas present. Having a lot of fun!

Blessing to ears
Your a really good teacher wish I had you as a teacher when I was younger
Thanks for this lesson. I have confidence now.
Thank you! I'm relearning piano and I'm on the hunt for classical pieces for beginners. There are lots of tutorials for pop songs, which is great, but I'm not a big fan of a lot of them and don't have the motivation to play them. I'd love more classical pieces that are designed for beginners or can be simplified for beginners.
The fact that you gave out free sheet music with this as well is amazing.
Thanks so much. So beautiful musics....
Thank you so much!
Wow this is definitely the lesson I needed!

I'm very excited to have stumbled across this! I've loved Gymnopedie for awhile without knowing where it came from. Thanks! (I'd also incorrectly assumed that Fur Elise was months ahead of where I'm at now)
Wow! the great composers would ❤️ you for this👍🎹🇳🇿
You are "SIMPLY THE BEST TEACHER IN PIANO 🎹 ❤ "thank you! 🥰❤
Great video.....love the production as well :)
Another piece that is good for beginners is Canon in D.....it's great for a few reasons, but one being that it starts off being quite easy and gets progressively more difficult.
Thank you pianote...
Thank you so much teacher
SO helpful!!! Thank you so much!! You look great as well! 🙂
