    you know what man, No one ever talks about how landing is so crazy difficult at the start because in a Sim you don't actually land you just reset it, hovering is also very difficult

    • @chasemomo
      @chasemomo  2 месяца назад +1

      Exactly! I was thinking about that, there's no "landing drills" if you wanna call it that.. for sims yet! It's almost disregarded lol. I think I Have been figuring it out better though.... i was disarming way too late lol

      I agree. I'm not an expert. Hovering is difficult because of the camera angle i guess. I practiced hovering with tinywhopps in the game "Liftoff" an nearly 0 degrees camera angle.Landing just quickly press disarm close above the ground like in the sim 😂

    That wobble is called prop wash. You need to PID tune your quad.

    That "wobble" is called prop-wash. It happens when the quad enters it's own turbulence, like when doing a split S, or a sharp turn into turbulent air. It can be fixed with a little bit of tuning, there's heaps of guides, or you can play around with some of the presets in betaflight.

    Find a nice big grass field. Spend a pack just doing taking offs a wide orbit and touch downs.
    Make the landing point a bit away from where you are sitting so you don't have to worry about bounces.
    Basically just practice landing in a forgiving environment and you'll get confident you can get it on the ground and disarmed without breaking anything pretty quickly.
    It may take a while to look pretty, but that's secondary. At the end of the day as long as you can get it near the ground without to much speed you can just disarm and gravity will handle the rest.
    Might want to consider turning of air mode, you can put it on a switch, which I believe is why you got that jump up on the slightly hard landing.

I like to come in and pull back on the pitch just a little bit and that allows me to slow down just enough to be able to control that landing, there are a lot of resources on throttle control that were a big help to keep flying. nice vid man, as for better landings, i found that flying low and slow as well as just hovering sometimes helped a lot. like really just focus on flying smoothly and slowly at a low altitute (like 3 feet or less). this really helped me and also made landing much easier as i can just hover a few inches off the ground then disarm. also, lowering your camera angle down slightly will make it easer to do this too

    Don't take off so close to yourself.
    For two reasons, first your going to blow sand into your controller. Second, if you change props and mess up, the drone may flip into you, cut you up, and prevent you from disarming because you're too busy bleeding all over the place & freaking out.
    Second, set a pre-arm switch before you slice yourself up. Sooner than later.
    Other than that, just enjoy the hobby. It gets easier.

I love the portability of the pocket, but I cant land/disarm with that controller to save my damn life, yet get it perfectly every time with my Boxer radio. For me personally it simply comes down to the button vs switch for the arm/disarm. There is something so much easier about a simple finger flick to disarm vs a button press that makes a world of difference for landing. You know there's a patch of grass like right next to you. Just pitch it in there, and disarm. Learning to land safely and softly takes practice, and it takes good throttle control.
