those in the chain of command that get upset that someone mods their equipment for the better probably havent left their desk in a long time.
It has to be written into into commanders orders because it’s not against the uniform order. Hell if CIF can’t issue FROG gear the Marine can buy and crye stuff. All they have to do is put effort into buying something similar and they’re good to go.
At least companies are working to improve your issued PC! Ours is so bad no one wants to touch it!
Thankfully for 2/8 we fucking ride the grey line. Our SOP isn't terrible but I will say we ride the fuck out of the grey line, lololol. It is nice because at the end of the day, mod ur shit, do what works for you and makes the most sense.
Wow this is so complex. How do they expect Marines to figure it out?
Also hoping you guys will have the RAM inserts restocked soon.
Tip for comm cable routing: leave enough slack by the radio so that you can pull the radio out to check or change programming, or change the battery.
Adding the foam inserts is a good idea too. It will add a little more buoyancy to your kit, which means less work for you if you fall in the drink.
Thank god when I was in the marines I was in 3rd recon and 2nd marsoc/msog and was able to use my personal crye jpc 2.0 and battle belt
I get it's probably not the best, but the gen iii carrier looks a hell of a lot better than what the army keeps dishing out, for some reason some genius keeps insisting that two big ass buckles up front behind your mags is a goated design
At this point the Army has so many "new" carriers in the last 5 years idk which one is the newest one
One thing I’ve found helpful for my line of work is using the sleeve on the upper chest for bolt cutters. As an Engineer we always try to carry some manual entry tools on us, and the bolt cutters are the lightest (and frankly most trained) item we carry for this task. It can work for rapid stowing on the Halligan tool but I don’t recommend this long-term as the adz and spike end does not store well on the chest. I give similar advice for the Blackhawk mini-sledge/ axe since the head makes for an inconvenient and unbalanced end. However the ace blades are so wide and dull you couldn’t cut a piece of butter in July with the thing. The sleeve doesn’t have much use for documents, unless they’re laminated or rite-in-the-rain because the sweat soaks into the carrier (at least for me) heavily in that area. I also usually keep a bungee cord wrapped in this dead space to pull up hurricane/ chain link fences, hold C-wire open on a breach, hold down gear to my chest such as LRF’s/ Binos, and general bungee tasks. My condolences to all the minimalists losing their shit presently, I won’t even mention my COMM’s and NVG stowage setups. And one last thing before I go, Coyote Brown is garbage. Visible spectrum and IR, sticks out like horse in a daycare.
Coyote brown is good wtf lol you realize the Marine Corps advantage to being so small compared to the army and other branches is that they vigorously test their gear, they do Socom level of testing. Reason why the Rangers wore CB till they switched to RG and MC
@@MrSwccguy Say it all you want. Solid coyote brown does not aid camouflage at all. It’s just a cost saving solution. It prevents us from having to do prints in camouflage patterns for different terrain. Does it do okay? Sure. Does it need vegetation in 90% of terrain? Yes. Coyote brown was identified in development of MARPAT to aid the digital pattern. It’s a great accessory to a color pallet. But it’s only application standalone is in Arid environments. Seeing as the corps is pushing for greater tropical involvement ranger green or any variety of tropical / woodland camouflage pattern become increasingly relevant to the corps. Plain and simple, we’re broke. So it’s easier to have one solid color that’s cheap to produce rather than adaptive and more expensive patterns. It suffers as any solid color suffers, and it’s scope of application is narrow.
@@The_Professor_ Scrim it.
@@JEJAK5396 I do use camouflage netting and vegetation when possible. But frankly it’s a hassle and gets in the way more than I’d like. I know camouflage patterns don’t replace texture and vegetation but they’d mean I’d need a lot less. Not to mention the aid of breaking up shapes.
I'd say Coyote Brown does much better worn in and dirty. Clean and fresh; yeah its not the best but once it gets a bit grimy it does the trick. Is it the best? No but the Marine Corps' color choice is the least problematic thing we need to fix at the moment haha.
Please do one on the inner flak. It’s so much more comfortable and light
I would love to see a build with the low profile carrier
Another fantastic gear guide
Glad you think so!
Well done brother! Happy 247 devil dogs! 🎉🇺🇸🎉🇺🇸
Thanks!
THE KINGS HAVE SPOKEN ❤️💯
Thanks haha
Wish i woulda seen this before i deployed, woulda brought all the extra parts and probably ordered some bits from yall
Decided to upgrade my 6094 with your shoulder pads, very excited to try them out when they arrive!
Thanks guys, great video. Happy birthday devils🦅🌎⚓
Our pleasure!
My dream plate carrier
Very awesome and happy late 247th brother. I got out 10 years ago and wish I had this new kit. May I ask what kind of fixed blade was that? I would love to get one for my gear
It is a future collab blade we're hoping to offer soon!
@@shawconceptsllc.8797 damn I hope I can snag one when it’s available!
Commenting to get an update on the blade.
Thankfully I’m in a unit that allows us to really customize our kits as long as we don’t permanently remove/damage issued items. We have to use the issued flak and Kevlar but pouches, cummerbunds, etc is all up to us. Our command even has some brains and understands it’s important to camouflage kit so we can run camo/green pouches so long as it doesn’t look stupid. Commanders that don’t let their grunts change their kits obviously have never had to live in them, much less fight in them
Happy birthday devil doohickeys
RAH
Happy birthday Devil Dogs
Rah Devil
Thank God I had a first gen eagle carrier and didn't have to deal with any of that bs. Only downside is I had to retrofit the cummerbund from my MTV but it was easy enough to do.
Eagle CIRAS?
@@haley746 I don't believe so
Old Times are not better in the most cases
When are the packs supposed to be shipping out? Great video! Definitely pushing this out to my Marines. Happy birthday!
happy birthday devils 🦅🌎⚓
Semper Fi brother.
🇺🇸🎉🇺🇸🎉
Thx king.
I like it
Hyposimplistic
Good for the average Crayola 124 pack Fan
Happy Birthday
Rah devil
And today, Rhodesia’s birthday
Once it’s fixed up it doesn’t look like a horrible platform.
Random engineer : let’s make a light weight low profile plate carrier.
Also same engineer : let’s put a low profile plate carrier inside this lp carrier
I... imma gonna need that patch >
Just draw with a sharpie haha
do you guys have a video of upgrading the slick inner portion?
Good stuff
Glad you enjoyed
FINALLY
Remember Devil Dogs when it comes to higher ups be Semper Gumby
Everything is sold out 😢 when are y’all going back in stock?
Where can I purchase one? I would like to have one since my unit only issues gen 2 and that one fits incorrectly on my person
can you guys please do the MSV
Yes once someone lends us one
Is this carrier available in the civilian market?
How much would a set up like this cost? With all the recommended additions
ballpark 800
y'all are sold out, when will the store be back up?
What's the point of all that extra cordura on the plate bags if the soft armor is sapi shaped and doesn't have any trap protection?
The 90lb brains at MARCORSYSCOMS said it was a good idea.
Marine Corps wanted 2 different carriers for different roles but instead ordered one carrier for both that is just 2 carriers stuffed inside each other. marincrops!
@@JEJAK5396 galaxy brain bean counters
Theres alot of first spear components in this. Interesting
They make good stuff
flex v2 restock?
Coming soon... very soon.
What about improving the Eagle Industries SPC?
It would be a waste of time, no one gets that issued anymore sadly. But it would be cool
what has it been replaced by, if i may ask? And how does it compare against the Marines PC Gen3?
@@sebleonard8273 so there's been a few systems used. The interceptor body armor, that was then replaced by IOTV, that then got replaced with the SCP which used by limited number because it was in testing to see if the Gen2 or SCP would be issued. Well Gen2 won and SCPs were still around but not common.
Gen2 got replaced with Bullshit ass Gen3 and the only thing it's got going for it is tubes and a bit lighter then the Gen2
Can you make a video improving there GEN II USMC plate carrier?
Would be greatly appreciated
We have one on our channel, its an older one but still applicable.
Can you do one for the new high cut helmet?
We could, do you mean the Super High Cut or the one the Marines have?
@@shawconceptsllc.8797 regular infantry marines got new helmets?
Do you guys sell that padded backer or is that from another company?
Of all the excellent aftermarket goodies here, I must ask, WHERE CAN I GET THAT PATCH???????????
im sorry but i need that patch
Maybe one day!
Where would we buy this as aftermarket? Or what’s a better plate carrier to get still in the coyote color?
Shaw concepts, arbor arms, Crye precision, AXL advanced, all are my top personally bought gear
Eagle Industries used to have the Marine Corps. contract
Are you able to use the MSR cumberbunds on this carrier
Yup, same way we showed!
Honestly I'm thankful as fuck my first unit was chill and let me use my own carrier because Holy shit the marine corps sucks at fucking picking gear
Edit: fuck cif they sent back a carrier I never wore saying it was dirty
Edit number 2 the carriers issued while I was in was the gen before this. This is a big improvement
The gen 2? Lol they sucked
@@phillipiniestra7379 clearly you don't know how to read or are restating what I already said
Edit the gen 3 is better then the 2 but both sucked and I lucked out on my first unit and got to use a personal pc
What music was going in the background
Just some 80s synthwave
Can you do an improvement video for the army's msv
Isnt this the same thing?
It looks the same, but msv has buckles for the cummerbund, and I can't change the front like that to add a placard like that in total marines system is way better
We're working on getting an MSV!
Do you happen to have any tips or tricks fror the MSV Gen II?
Paracord the top in, but your own soft from crye and use that instead of the shot it has.
Ummmm why are the cables running on the right side; normally where I'd be shouldering my rifle? For headsets with fixed downlead cable, that cable will be coming off the left ear cup. Putting the PTT on the right will not allow you to connect the cable and be able to move your head freely.
We typically run the PTT on the side without a buckle so as not to anchor that strap. While this has buckles on both sides we ensure the left side is cleared for disconnect. We also have AMPs so we can choose what side we want the downlead on but you are right that other headsets have fixed downleads. At the end of the day this video is a resource to help marines learn how to attach various items and where they place things is up to them.
Does the placard come with female bucked for the hidden loops
The placard does not but the Gen 3 should come with them in the hardware kit.
Man there's not much you can do with a piece of equipment that's already garbage. It's like adding sugar to pile of shit and expecting it to taste good. But hey, shaw concepts is still king so I hope alot of Marines take your advice.
What knife is that?
Our collab blade with Half Face Blades coming back this April!
How do I get SIF to take it back on the first try? 🤣😅
Just know it won't happen and speed run the first time.
What kind of Internet was that?
anyone notice his fly was down?
Idk bro. I was focused on the plate carrier, not on the dude's crotch.
I just wanna know what that knife is 😂😂
Its our collab blade with Half Face Blades coming back April 16th on our five year anniversary!

I dont know where this "slick sides" bullshit came from but none of you are tier 1 operators and the only thing slick should be your buisness side... for me that's the right side... the other side should have mag pouches on it so you can have 7-10 mags on your person because like I said your not a tier 1 operator
Sorry to express this stupid word but your up grades looks like an agilite k19 sorry that's not an up grade is a copy of a good plate carrier
The K19 has a very distinct design, this looks nothing like the K19.
So I ran old interceptor with addon side sapi's. How do you put this armor on in a right fast hurry? I cant tell you how many times I had to roll out of my fighting hole ready to fight from a dead sleep. You only get a quick moment to get that fucker on... this all seems high speed but high drag.
Will you add an option to have only weak side shoulder release? The buckles regardless of platform are always disruptive to shouldering.
Yea because i love the idea of a 152 slaming into my hip, and breaking my shit. I would not run the radio wing.
