  • Our new Jeep gets her first stripes and pretty dirty too. We go on a fun trail ride on FR46 in Ocala National Forest, the location of the Pats Island Trail. We also take a detour on FR 81 and get our new Jeep trashed. LOL But it was still a lot of fun. Enjoy!!!

Side note: Bruce washed the Jeep the following day and it looks as good as new! I thought it was going to be trashed! LOL. But it was fine. 👍🏼

To get here from the Daytona area, you'd take Rt. 40 west to Rt. 19, then head north on Rt. 19 to Forest Service (FS 46) which is known as Pat's Island Trail. Heading west on FS 46, the fun begins just after crossing FS 65. Happy trails!

Too bad we didn't have the chainsaw yet. But, we soon got one and will take it on all our trailrides!

Hello Bruce and Amy! I am coming to Florida with my girlfriend this summer (from Europe), I have never been off-roading and I would love to experience some beginner trails. Would you have any tips? Thank you for your videos!

Ocala National Forest. That’s where we find easy trails. Enjoy your time in Florida! We love it!

That’s the biggest complaint about Ocala National Forest, the tight trails causing pin striping. Our club did the Jeep badge of honor trail there and everyone came home with lots of scratches

We had to just decide to be ok with it. It was a good initiation into accepting the fact that our Jeep was not gonna stay perfect if we wanted to off road. But it really did clean up well after.

I think you hit a dirt bike trail … these vehicles cost to much money to ruin them through these trails

Hi Mike! It was definitely not for Jeeps! We were new and excited to go off roading. We learned a lesson. But thankfully the Jeep cleaned up beautifully. You can’t see a scratch on it.

You took the worst trail out there, next time try the tread lightly trail,

We have done the Tread Lightly since then, and you are right!
