Just because she didn't stick around long enough to release a few cash grab dud albums, doesn't mean she didn't sell out. One thing she did sell out of was her soul. She has none of that left. She traded it for a fancy record player and some screen time
@@chodechotchney5331 She retired in Georgia with her husband. I dont think she sold out at all. As a matter of fact, when country radio lost interest in her, she went back to her roots to bluegrass and mountain music, which was some of the best music she ever did.
This Magnificent Lady has a soon to be honored Hall of Fame voice like none other in the Genre of Country and Western. What gets me about this Video is the whimsy on display. Such as Miss Patty Loveless in a "Sergeant Pepper" style Drum Major Jacket in one segment!😂😘🎤🎼🎸🎹🎻🥁💃📻B.W.
When I started my career in radio (1988) I hadn't done any interviews. Patty was my first. I was 17, and she kind of helped me through the interview. LOL It was on her bus. It was like that Chris Farley skit called the Chris Farley Show on SNL. Not only was she stunning, but she was hot on the charts at the time and I was in awe. Nice lady as well.
Ms. Loveless WAS one of the greatest country singers of her day. (and still is in my mind) It's cliché to talk about selling out and what-not. She made a lot of money doing everything she wanted to do. THAT is success. But yeah....she may have been one of the last true from-the-ground-up country singers. And thank the gods for her voice and beauty and hipness. (btw, I'm a rock bass player from LA)
Very attractive and talented woman. She may not have had as many hits as Riba but she is clearly in my mind one of the best female country singers ever. Her songs move you.
Country music in the 90's were awesome. Not like the crap they try to pass off as country music today. And that's coming from a person who not a big fan of country music.
wayne mckinney same here, i prefer the 90s country, every artist had their own sound, todays country is so cookie cutter. one makes a hit n everyone has to copy it
Such a FUN song, I love it, and I LOVE Patty ! C'mon back, girlfriend; you are SORELY missed by those of us who appreciate GREAT Country Talents Like YOU!
That blue and pink jacket she's wearing at 1:03 should be put on display on the Country Music Hall of Fame. Song is peppy too! Patty shows her catchy side here
This was the country music era that I grew up with, and I have to say that I genuinely miss it. There were so many great artists in the early 90s, and many of them have virtually disappeared because they don't have the right sound for today. Patty Loveless was one of the best female singers I had the privilege to hear, and though she does have projects that she works on today, it is a shame that she, and others like her, don't get the airtime. Bring this sound back to country radio!
Patty Loveless is one of my top 5 female country singers. Her strong voice blow me out me out of a chair. Happy to her go back to her roots, bluegrass. She´s top class woman!
Written by Gary Burr, and performed by American country music artist Patty Loveless. It was released on July 30, 1994, as the first single from her album "When Fallen Angels Fly" (1994). The music video was directed by John Lloyd Miller, and premiered on CMT on August 2, 1994. The video consisted of Loveless singing on various sets related to the song's lyrics, such as a talk show. She is also seen on a wooden lift that takes her high into the air (which is actually a screen), as well as a man dressed in a tropical piece playing guitar (he is also seen with Loveless on the talk show). The song starts 20 seconds after the video begins, as it first shows Loveless in a bed scene, forgetting her lines, when the director scolds her for doing so. When the video played on CMT, the credit of the song is simply read "Think About Elvis", instead of "I Try To Think About Elvis".🙂
So nice to see Patty Loveless... always so beautiful and classy... really attractive & boy can she sing! Talent just pours out of her! And that smile... I would have picked her if I had a choice of who to be born like!
Some of the country music these days is way too much this bro country thing all about their pickup trucks and some way too sexually suggestive comments about women.
So weird how I actually remember these 90's country songs. I used to listen to these in the car with my family on long road trips across the country... Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, Iowa, etc. Amazing....
This was out the exact same time as Confederate Railroad's "Elvis and Andy", however, this fared much better, as "Andy" only peaked at #20 on the charts
Funny thing is, this song was out the exact same time as Confederate Railroad's "Elvis and Andy"; however, this fared better, as "Andy" only peaked at #20. What was up with everyone wanting to sing about "The King" in 1994? However, both songs, and the "Honeymoon in Vegas" soundtrack, show how much Elvis had influenced many country artists.
Patty, Martina McBride, Shania, Mindy McCready, Shelly Wright, Terri Clark, Jo Dee Messina, Sara Evans...The greatest era of women in country music.
Faith, Pam Tillis, Dixie Chicks, Kathy Mattea, Lee Ann Womack, LeAnn Rimes...
Suzy Bogguss, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Roseanne Cash, Terri Clark, Kathy Mattea, and many more!!!! :)
Reba McEntire, Alison Kraus, Pam Tillis, Wynona and Naomi Judd, and Trisha Yearwood

Lorrie Morgan! But Patty is tops!
She could have been one of the greatest female country singers, but she decided not to sell out. I love her.
She IS one of the greatest country singers, precisely because she didn't sell out.
@@chuckschillingvideos I LOVE this!!
im having a hard time coming up with a single response to this comment. so many are coming to mind. Your saying she decided NOT to sell out?

Now this is real country not the crap they play today
The best looking and sounding female country artist of the 90s.
Patty is one of my country honeys
Patty Loveless is one of the best female country singers ever. Her music helped shape my love of country throughout the 90s.
One of country's most unappreciated singers. Tho she never sold out, and won the big awards, she was still one of the best of all time
i must admit i only just discovered this great female country artist she rocks
She's always been one of the grates.
One of the greats too...=)
She did win 1996's CMA Female Vocalist, as well as CMA's 1995 Album of the Year for "When Fallen Angels Fly", with this on it.
Right! I seen her in concert growing up and loved it! My grandparents were big fans of hers!!

Gosh I miss real country music . I can listen to it all day .
My favorite Patty Loveless song by a country mile. Always puts me in a good mood.

This song is a lot better than I used to give it credit for. She is such a fantastic singer.
A superb song about the King ELVIS Presley. Two Thumbs Up!

Missing 90's country!
Whoever thumbed down this video doesn’t know real country music and doesn’t take time to listen to the lyrics!

Alot of the newer country is perfect. Not a thing wrong.. very few artists aren't good (Darius Rucker is one, plus some of Tim McGraw ' new songs)
So true, after the 90's thing went south for country music, it sux ass now so I went back to 70's pop rock.
*cough cough* Body Like a Backroad *cough cough&

HIGHLY TALENTED AND SHE HAS THE MOST ATTRACTIVE SMILE IN THE RECORDING INDUSTRY!
Pure singing voice with class!
That voice still knocks me flat!
I generally despise country music but this song is amazing. Patty Loveless rocks.
Not sure how, but actually had this randomly pop in to my head... Haven't heard this song in years.

There was a golden moment of country music in the 90's.

Top 10 Most Beautiful Country Singers Of All Time.
Patty Loveless , One of a kind voice. Just Beautiful
Patty deserved more
Hello Missy..
I wish country now a days was still like this! I love the older country!!
Add Mary Chapin Carpenter to the list of awesome talent from that period.
Poor Patty--shafted and shelved by the country music/radio elite establishment which now gives us schlock and trash.
I like her a lot. She now has a hard time getting gigs, however. Too bad.*****
alex hidell That's because she's not a sell out or bent over a producer's desk. She is a first class lady.
Not me.
Her husband got sick in the 90s and she quit to take care of him.
Some of the country music these days is way too much this bro country thing all about their pickup trucks and some way too sexually suggestive comments about women.
ur all i think about these dayssssss
Such a beautiful lady and singer. Missing this kind of country in 2020.
